Following on from Behemoth's new album, Vader, another Polish band, have what might be a cracking album coming out this month.

This seems to be a very good year for Polish Metal.... :lol:

 

There's some Death Metal that's seriously good - Behemoth and Vader are two good examples, Nile are superb, especially the later albums (from "In Their Darkened Shrines" onwards...), and then there's the more Melodic end of things such as Dark Tranquility, Arch Enemy and Lamb of God who fuse aggression very nicely with melody and tune....

 

Try some Black Metal - you wont do much better than Emperor really.... All four of their albums are absolutely superb, but the last one, "Prometheus..." is just on a different level musically, possibly the greatest Black Metal album ever... Incredibly sophisticated, intricate, going into territory that can be considered almost Art..... It's intense, intimidating stuff though, and you will have to listen to it about a half dozen times before it starts to reveal itself....
