Just had two eps to catch up on - and wow as per usual!

 

I am already dreading the series ending and the wait for series 2 lol.

Pearl is fantastic! I can see the final few episodes being amazing. Found tonight's a bit on the dull side though with all that double dating nonsense. Bonnie's presence is sorely missed. I wonder when she'll be back?

 

 

Also the season finale will feature a death - though whether it's a main character or not I don't know :o And as for Jeremy. Why?!? Is he really that concerned with finding Vicki or is he caught up in that whole 'undead, immortal' glamorous thing?

 

I think Bonnie will only return on episode 19. Not completely sure though.

I'm loving this series, but I'm way behind you guys, as I'm on UK schedule, I'm trying hard not to read up on later eposides, UK just shown the episode where lexi's ex boyfriend trys to kill Damon and the ending just left me wanting more. I wish they used lexi more, there was more scope to her character.

To be fair, they have killed some great guest/recurring stars :( I loved Lexi,

I guess no one is totally safe except the main 3.

At least they don't have tonnes of characters running around like Heroes/Lost etc.

 

Hah agreed with you there. Although I do wish we got more of Lexi and Bree. I think Grams was a pretty fab recurring character - apparently

there will be a new female character related to Bonnie coming up in the series

Gina Torres [who played Bree] is a pretty brilliant actress. She would've made a very interesting villain imo. She did brilliantly when she was in Angel .

I would love to predict what direction the show will take in Season 2 but as they've pretty much demonstrated that they're barely following the books - who knows? I would love to see Meredith finally introduced though ^_^

I never read the books, I hear its totally different from the show, but that the show is a lot better. I think Season 2 might bring Katherine to the limelight

I think I might give this show another chance......I think when I watched the first episode I was being a bit of a True Blood snob :P

In the middle of watching episode one,

For some reason I just knew that that girl taking the drugs off Elena's brother was going to get herself killed. Edit: Oh she didn't die....but she got duffed up anyway :P

OK just watched the latest eppy and wow, they've done it again.

 

Intense. Dark. Crazy episode. Stefan really is the brother to be scared of, he really does have a personality transplant when he vamps on. Elena's reactions throughout this episode were perfect, Nina has truly evolved throughout the show in such a short time. I especially loved how they couldn't have saved Stefan without her, she's pro active and not a damsel in distress. The teamwork between her, Alaric and Damon was so unlikely but it totally worked.

 

I loved Damon's look when he found Stefan at the end drinking blood, Ian nailed that scene. I love how the brotherly bond came through this episode, they might fight with each other but if anyone messes with your sibling, you're unleashing a beast.

 

I have no clue what's going on with Pearl. So she doesn't want revenge, but what does she want? Gain control of the town from the inside? Live amongst the mortals like they used to? Hmmm.

 

Jeremy was a bit annoying tonight, but I do like him with Anna. She definitely didnt enjoy finding out he wanted to be turned cos of Vicki.

 

Speaking of which, Vicki is back, well her corpse. Nice to see the writers haven't forgotten that plot. Poor Matt, I totally understood why he broke down when he saw Elena, his childhood friend. His whole life is falling apart. Nice to see Caroline didn't freak out with the hug, would be inappropriate, but I still felt bad for her, talk about a crappy day. I think they should break up, although I'm enjoying Caroline's growth as a human being.

 

Can't wait for next week like usual.

I think Pearl is the more sneaky sort of evil. She's not all impulsive and acting out of pure instinct. I think she's planning something big. The way she wants to know who has vervain and the founders etc makes me think she IS trying to reintigrate into society unnoticed but also wants to take over the entire town maybe?

 

I also can't wait to see next week's!

By the way, episode 20 will be the final flashback episode ;) I just can't wait.
