September 26, 200915 yr I tried watching an episode of it online but it just really annoyed me, the characters just seem so fake and lame compared to true blood. Once you've gone true blood there's no going back :P Edited September 26, 200915 yr by Sabrewulf238
September 26, 200915 yr Lol I know what you mean. Between this, TB and Twilight I'm struggling trying to remember the differences between the vampires in each :heehee:
October 3, 200915 yr Loved this episode! Loved how they mocked Twilight lol :heehee: Now back to the more serious aspect of the episode, it really set the wheels rolling. Now we got some adults/parents on the show, and how they know of the existence of vampires. Seems like there will be a vampire hunt. Really liked how they brought in some mythological objects, cant wait to see what the crystal and the watch can do, and their importance. Tyler's mom is a bitch, no wonder he turns out that way. However, I still think the Tyler/Vicki/Jeremy trio is the weakest part of the show. Much prefer Jeremy with Elena, their intereactions are pretty good. Vicki would probably be more sympathetic having more scenes with Matt, who was very missed this episode. Loved all the Elena scenes, especially with her BFF's and her brother. I like how they're developing her relationship with Caroline, how she's not as close to her as she is with Bonnie, but still looks after her and protects her whenever she can. Poor Caroline though, she's obviously in a lot of trouble. I'm really growing attatched to her personality, she's definitely one of the most interesting characters on the show. Now onto my favourite, has to be Bonnie. So finally we discover one of her abilities, starting a fire, and I can't wait for this storyline to develop. I appreciate that the writers are giving us only one bit by bit, so they have more time to expand her role. Hopefully she'll have a big part to play in future episodes. Didnt really care for Aunt Jenna and her ex, but turns out there's more to him than just the ex who wants to get back with her. He's using her to get back inside her house and find the watch. Stefan and Damon were cool this episode, I like how Stefan outsmarted Damon for once. However, looking at the preview, it seems that Damon in captivity wont last long, as someone will open the locked door. Poor Uncle Zach, seems like he'll be feeling Damon's wrath next week. Another solid episode, and i'm getting more and more invested on this show :) I just love the whole aura of the show, and I'm certainly gonna enjoy all the episodes that bring in some history, as well as some mythology. Cant wait to see how Bonnie's witch mojo ties up with the rest, and how her grandma will have a role in that, as well as possibly revealing some interesting stuff.
October 4, 200915 yr ^ agree with all of the above. It's definitly getting interesting now with the twist at the end! Twilight mention was hilarious!
October 9, 200915 yr Finally! It took Elena long enough! Mind you she still asks "What are you?" FFS girl you know! Just as I was getting really bored of Jeremy and Vicki that happens...I hope it's permanent :kink: Glad we are finally getting past the 'Eelena doesn't know' stage!
October 10, 200915 yr I've just watched the pilot and I'm definitely going to be following this, despite it being far from perfect. I'll get the not-so-good bits out of the way: -Ian Somerhalder really is dreadful. I can't abide him as an actor and as Damon he looks like he's going to be enjoyment-of-series-rapingly awful. -Generally the whole episode was a clone of the first hour of the Twilight film. There was one scene, where Elena notices a change in Stefan's eyes on the bridge, he stutters and promptly walks away, which was literally a direct lift from Twilight. As a character Stefan is incredibly reminiscent of Robert Pattinson's portrayal of Edward Cullen, down to their little mannerisms and everything. Stefan is probably better-acted than Edward but it's impossible to ignore that they clearly based his character on Edward when they casted... -The sub-plot with dull Jeremy and dull slut Vicki is exceptionally dull and unless it disappears I only see it dragging the series down. In better news, Elena and Stefan are both engaging leads with chemistry and Bonnie (Brandy lookalike much?) is a really cute supporting character. Bearing similarities (to say the least) to Twilight is no bad thing either given that I basically live for the saga. I liked how this was shot and the music employed and the general vibe. So yeah, I'll stick with it, but I don't see myself getting over the fact that I hate the actor who plays the main evil guy with a passion!
October 10, 200915 yr Latest episode was another solid episode, and everything seems to moving along smoothly. So Uncle Zach apparently bites the dust (I heard his neck twist), although I wasn't all that invested in his character which is a shame since he could've been a pivotal character since he knows a lot about the family and its history. Caroline aced her scenes, and I still wonder how Damon could reach her mind when he was so weak. But I like how sick and twisted their relationship is. Props to Elena for being a lead with brains. She can put 2 and 2 together, and doesnt need people to keep giving her hints til she gets something. She persues iuntil she reaches the bottom of it. Now she knows Stefan isnt human, and is probably a vampire, so she's probably gonna be freaking out a bit. Stefan is also growing on me with each episode. I like his interactions with other characters, and I thought his scene with Elena in the kitchen was sweet. Bonnie's powers seem so intriguing at the moment. The way she made the fire appear then disappear was really cool, and now Stefan knows about her ability. This will probably make her a tiny bit more opened to him being a "freak", but maybe not. Vicki bites the dust. However I dont think this will be the last of her, she'll probably end up being a vampire. Anyway, I dont hate her like most fans of the show, and I have enjoyed some of her scenes like the graveyard one and her speech, but at the moment she just plods along and doesnt do anything besides take drugs and getting high. Which is a shame cos the actress has potential. Jeremy will go nuts if she's really dead. The town adults are also fitting in nicely with the rest of the cast, and all is going well at the moment.
October 13, 200915 yr I'm up to date with this now. Loving it. It's a shame episode five had to have the whole thing where Elena looks back over the weird events of the past few weeks and realises what Stefan is. Like the eyes scene in episode two it was a straight lift from Twilight. Those little bits are cheapening an otherwise brilliant show. My favourite characters right now are Bonnie ('I'm a doubt-planter!') and Vicki. I really like Stefan too. Shame about Damon. Ugh.
October 19, 200915 yr Yep! I'm a disgrace :heehee: Really though she's a great example of a character you can't help but sympathise with even though she's a bitch from time to time. Her and Jeremy are so cute together too!
October 30, 200915 yr Wow at the lates ep. Favourite yet. Incred  Vampire Vicki is AMAZING. Slightly gutted it ended that way.
October 31, 200915 yr Another amazing episode Stefan is really growing on me, the actor is finally showing more versatility, maybe that's why. Vampire Vicki was fun, even cute with her whole issues. I guess having her around like that could get old pretty quickly though. It's a shame how things ended up for her, I think the actress who plays her is pretty great, she definitely sold her last scene. I loved Elena, the way she was hurting over Stefen, Jeremy, Vicki, and how angry she was with Damon. I believe the stuff she told Damon was what made him sorta try to redeem himself sorta, at the end. Poor Jeremy though, the actor was brilliant at the end with Elena. I really felt for him. Just wish he had shown more concern for Elena since she's her sister and was gonna get killed. But I guess all that was confusing for him, and emotions can mess with your head. I felt for Matt too, poor thing. Vicki was all he had left, and his last scene looking for her in a dark, quiet and lonely house made me feel sad for him. He was definitely a great brother, and I wish they had had more interactions before, they had interesting chemistry. Loving how Bonnie's witch stuff is developing. Did anyone noticed that her Greatx4 Grandma was the actress who played Katherine's slave? Wonder if that will play in with future storylines? Anyway, this is definitely my favourite show atm.
November 6, 200915 yr Wow. The quality of the episodes improves week on week. Loved Lexi. Several 'OMG' moments during this one. Really intrigued as to where this is going next!
November 9, 200915 yr LOVED the latest episode! The people who quit on this early on are definitely missing out. I'm super annoyed that Lexi was killed off, it seems like everyone really liked her (unlike Vicki), shame she's a goner. Caroline = love! Matt / Caroline are so sweet too. Damon is annoying me. Cant wait for next weeks episode.
November 13, 200915 yr Every week I have to come and say best episode yet! :o I loved this weeks so much. So creepy! I cannot wait for the next episode!
November 14, 200915 yr Wow so much happened this episode! I wonder if that's the end of the Katherine storyline? Surely they will find another way to bring her back. And maybe those 27 vampires :o Loved the Bonnie storyline, there were so scary moments tonight! She was great as Emily, and Bonnie could be a kickass witch too the new history teacher is a vamp, wonder where that will go. Logan is a vampire :o Stefan & Elena breaking up :( Damon really did love Katherine! I actually fell sorry for him tonight, he definitely showed his more vulnerable side Matt & Caroline together are so cute, but their stories are sad. Together in solitude. This is by far my favourite show this year :) It seems its only Ryan and I watching this :heehee: Oh well, you're all missing out :P
November 14, 200915 yr ^ Lol I know! I'm all alone in the DH thread too. :drama: Apparently I watch too much USTV this year.
