I've just found an actual good site for streaming shows so I've been having a massive USTV catchup. You're not alone Ryan. FAR FAR better than the crap on in England :P

Anyway The Vampire Diaries is such a brilliant, little show. I love how they're totally changing things around from the books to though I wish they hadn't offed Vicki :( She was just getting interesting...

Anyone else really like the Matt/Caroline pairing too? It's one of those that shouldn't work but actually does. Anyway I'm sure that Katherine will come back somehow even though that amulet was destroyed...

I think I'm the only one who likes this show? :(

Anyway 8 week hiatus now but a brilliant ending. I wonder who the hell the vampire was that Elena 'hit'? :o

Speculations?

I know right? 8 weeks til new VD, Supernatural, Greys, ugh I hate big hiatuses. Anyway, I think there thing Elena hit was a werewolf. Perhaps a new character or maybe someone we already know.

Well I have read the books and in those Tyler is a werewolf. [i like how they focused entirely on the moon in the latest episode during the scene between him and Jeremy]. Anyway, apparently there will be a werewolf but they haven't said which character so it could be a new twist

Ive heard from several friends of mine, that this show is massivly good. They all seen it and loved it. I might give it a try, even tho I dont like twilight movies or any vampire things related. I hope its diffrent from true blood and not that much cliche.

Ill add my opinion as soon as I watch it, I promiss

I've watched about the first five episodes of this... It's alright... Nothing great, but not so horrendously awful.... Better than Twilight, but not as good as True Blood.....
Definitely if you enjoyed the first 5 stick with it as the following eps are even stronger!

Wow this was an amazing episode. All the characters were pretty great, even Jenna wasn't annoying - I actually think she has some chemistry with Alaric.

Speaking of Alaric, so he might be Elena's dad? And who was Isabelle, a normal chick or something "special"? A lot of questions to be answered, but certainly intriguing.

So the stalkerish Anna is a vamp, as well as Ben. Damon has some stiff competition as to who will open Katherine's tomb first. I can't wait for that to happen. Poor Bonnie and Jeremy though, they're out of luck.

Really enjoyed the Caroline and Matt scenes, I think they are good friends, who are very lonely, trying to give love a shot. Hope it works out.

My favorite part of the episode was definitely the Stefan, Damon and Elena scenes. I've really grown to like Stefan more and more, there's more to him than what meets the eye - he can be manipulative too. I actually liked Damon here, he seemed more tied to his emotions than usual, and you can tell deep down he loves Stefan and trusts him. However there are a few scenes that we remind ourselves that he is evil, like whenever he tries to read someone. I did enjoy the brothers staking Noah, he had it coming. Kudos to Elena for having brains and fighting back against someone so much more powerful than her. She really is the glue between all the characters, her interactions with Jeremy, Jenna, Stefan, Damon, Caroline, Matt and Bonnie are pretty great, and I like how she acknowledged that she doesn't trust Damon, even after their little bonding scenes.

Overall, i'm loving the fast pacing of these episodes. I guess the race is on to get Emily's grimoire.

I was thinking more that Isabelle gave birth and such before she married Alaric? But yeah I think you're right that there's probably something special about her as Damon did kill her. Then again that may have just been a coincidence. I do love the show and I love the twists and turns they keep adding in ut it all just seems a bit coincidental to me  All these secrets that keep coming out etc. I know it's not meant to be real but bleh.

My friend said its brilliant so I'm really looking forward to it!

You won't be disappointed :D

It's not as good as True Blood but it is miles better than Twilight and I LOVE Twilight.

I just like how in TVD Elena is her own person and strong and not going all emo over her boyfriend's tortured angst of being a vampire etc [Cough Bella].

Still LOVING this series so much.

So many things I want to discuss but I need to get my thoughts in order lol. Loved the flashbacks of ep13!

Although I do need to double check some of the dates etc and refresh as I was confused tonight when Katherine etc was captured and neither D nor S had been turned. Must still be to happen.

Well in the books Katherine fakes her own death [by exposing herself to the sun without that ring thing], because the two brothers don't get along and she wants them to all be together. Basically they already have vampire blood in them and they kill each other in a sword fight after discovering her dead body. Because they have vampire blood in them already they are able to come back a vampires if that makes sense?

I know the series differs vastly from the books but if the mythology is the same maybe that would be the case and would also set up Elena turning at some point after last night's episode with Damon's blood.

I've watched the first 3 eps, I need to download some more :D

I did read some stuff on wiki when i first heard about the series but I didn't remember any of it except for Elena being turned at some stage - now having Damon's blood makes sense! I SO need to read these books.

I'd reccomend the books if you're interested but they're not a patch on the TV series. They really have excelled at making this series incredible and nothing like the book. The characters alone are different and the books are very teen fiction/Goosebumps esque imo.

I'm glad other people other than me are enjoying this though! ^_^

Oh right lol! Hmm yea maybe I won't rush onto Amazon and go mad then :kink:

Although I did have a large collection of Goosebumps books and videos when I was growing up

Episode 13 was great, answered some questions but also started many new ones. I'm not sure on Emily, is she evil or not?

I felt sorry for Anna, she was definitely a sweet girl and watching that happen to her mother must've made her want revenge. Definitely find her reason more sympathetic than Damon's...

Well we all know Katherine is a bitch, something tells me her and Emily had something up their sleeve and she managed to keep her from dying. Anyone else betting that she wont be there when they open her tomb?
