So, ive recently thought about taking this up again. I liked the first ep, thought the second one was bore, dropped it, and now im just watching it whenever i catch it on ITV2. And i have to say i would like it so much more if it wasnt just 5 minutes of action, 5 minutes of CODA scenes, and the rest being background info to the Vampires' life... I can see the appeal but i hope the writers do much more with this for the second season.

 

Also, can the witch stop calling her Grandmother "Grams" please? This is not Charmed. ^_^

You need to keep watching, the first few episodes are easily the worst (not bad per se), but it starts getting better and better. By the middle of the season each episode is such a rush of new revelations that you can barely keep up, the pacing on this show is like no other on TV imo. I started watching out of boredom and to pass the time, now its my most anticipated show of the week, which is pretty impressive for a new show.

Im on episode 9 atm and like you, im still watching out of boredom :( Which is a shame really cos i wanted to like this show so much since i heard it was being made.. Im hoping the next couple of episodes i watch will change that for me..

Anyway, I kinda hope Anna and Jeremy end up together......even though Jeremy was sorta using Anna in order to find Vicki......we have to remember that she used Jeremy too to get the book. I think there's definitely something between them......I hope it develops more.

 

I also sorta want Jeremy (or somebody) to become a vampire....Vicki didn't really last too long and I want to see a new vampire actually trying to cope with the changes..and not get killed like the day after turning. :rolleyes:

Uncle John sure knows his stuff :o Loved when he said that him and Jenna had slept together lol.

Good to see them proper shaking up Stefan's character also.

Damon and Alaric are good together too - shame I can't see any alliance between them lasting too long.

Kelly - blah. Three eps is enough of her IMO.

Tyler might be a werewolf? Random I know but it showed the full moon and he's acting weird etc.

There's supposed to be a shock death on the last episode....I doubt it would be a vampire cause they're kinda involved in danger all the time it wouldn't be that shocking.....I'm think unfortunately it will be either Jeremy, Jenna or Alaric. Although knowing my luck with these shows one of my fav characters Anna will probably die...

Jeremy or Anna that get's killed.....it's so unfair any character (that's not the primary character of the show) I start to really like always seems to get themselves killed...it's like I'm not allowed to have anyone I like stay alive in these shows

the books were very childish but still sort of interesting. nowhere near the depth or maturity in twilight. i actually LOVE LOVE LOVE this show

Well I haven't read the books to judge, but its pretty much unanimous that the show is better than Twilight. In fact for me its the best vampire show around.

 

 

Jeez this eppie was great - even when they slow things down its always good.

 

LOVED Badass Stefan in this, Paul deserves an emmy for his acting, so on point. He was really scary playing a blood junkie, chilling even. He can be even scarier than Damon.

 

LOVED seeing Bonnie back, and I'm glad to see her powers have evolved. Not surprised to see her distant from Elena, but it was to be expected after everything that has happened. I actually thought she was mature about it. Poor girl is still numb whenever she sees Stefan and Damon.

 

LOVED Damon and Elena bonding more, and that dance was pretty hot. Their chemistry is undeniable. I like how they're going there with small steps.

 

LOVED Elena and Stefan's scene at the end, talk about intense. I'm glad Elena was smart enough and stabbed him with vervain, she's definitely a brave girl.

 

LOVED Jeremy and Anna's scenes, they really seem like a match to me. I just hope they don't kill Anna off. I also hope they don't kill Pearl, I love her and she's being way underused.

 

LOVED Caroline winning the pageant, about time she had something good happen to her. But I was also glad to see her start the episode talking about Elena getting everything she wants, to her realising Elena's life isn't all that great, and actually sympathising with her.

 

LOVED Alaric's interactions with everyone, especially Elena. They are starting to form a closer bond.

 

HATED Uncle John, he needs to go. Apparently he doesn't know everything, and what he wants is that object Pearl has. Wonder what it can do?

 

Can't wait for next week's final flashback episode :D

I hated the guy who plays Uncle John when he was on Heroes and he's even worse here. He has one of those faces you just want to smack. I love how all these Heroes rejects keep showing up everywhere [cough Glee cough].

I want to know who's going to die in the finale :o

 

I doubt they're ready to make it Elena yet...

I mentioned Elena because she does 'die' in the books after the Founder's Day celebrations though because she's had blood from both brothers becomes a vampire. Hmmmmage.

 

Well yes there's always that possibility of her turning, like with any other character, but not actually dying dying, ala Vicki. She's a top billed character. I think Bonnie and Tyler are safe since they will probably evolve their characters next season with the supernatural stuff. Alaric has the ring so unless its not completely flawless, he can't bite the dust either. So we're left with Jeremy, Anna, Pearl, Jenna, Matt, Caroline and Uncle John. I wish it was Uncle John since he's the only character I dont like, but I doubt it.

I don't think Uncle John would leave that big an impact. It'll either be him, Anna or Pearl though. I don't think they'd get rid of any of the others but you never know :o
