Dr Linus is easily the best episode in this season so far.

Typical that it's the first one i've not actually seen yet

Think my mam's recorded it, but not had a chance to watch it yet due to goings out/having company this weekend. I'll wait til Monday when i'll have the whole house to myself.

Have to say i'm enjoying this season so far, favourite episode was The Lighthouse but I can't name a bad one as yet. Looking forward to seeing how it all ends up, avoided all spoiler websites etc and even Lostpedia so as not to spoil anything for myself.

Somebody try and tell me that performance from Michael Emerson is not Emmy worthy. Him and Terry O'Quinn are in a league of their own on LOST.

How about you try and tell me there have been better performances on TV than Michael Emerson and Terry O'Quinn in Lost. you are asking for the impossible Rooney.

and im almost in tear's when I watch that scene when he says "because he's the only one that will have me" f***ing astonishing acting.

I agree 100%! That's in my top 3 scenes in Lost! Still can't believe how it is amazing!

Just watched Dr.Linus and it's easily the best episode of Season Six so far, and probably better than any Season Five episode too. Ilana is fast becoming one of my favourite characters, especially after her scene with Ben, and I can't wait to see her backstory (at least I hope we do). And what can be said about Michael Emerson that hasn't been said already, his pleading scene is one of the most moving scenes in the show so far.

Oh, and to give you lot the heads up, the ABC website are running a promo competition - you have to make a promo for the final episode using the movie maker the site provides (they give you the clips, music etc) and if you win, your promo will be used to promote the final show in a prime time slot. You can also use your own tools if you prefer, and there are helpful guides on how to make a promo, and they are quite easy to do.

Although it's not open for people outside of America, I still managed to make one and it was uploaded onto the ABC site (so I'm not sure if it is in fact possible for mine to be selected, but it's all a bit of a fun anway). If you make one, make sure you keep the link (and post it on here so we can check out eachothers work :P ) because it took me ages to find mine again.

http://lost-promo-contest.abc.go.com/published/5647 Here is the masterpiece itself :kink: it's a bit of an (epic) fail - I tried to fit in both character moments and action into 35 seconds, and I should have stuck with one or the other. I definitely suggest you stick to just one tone, otherwise it will be a bit all over the place. Good luck to anyone who enters.

Really like the promo for the next episode, the song and tone are great, and don't worry it doesn't give anything away.

nice to see Sawyer back, it's been a few episodes, not nice to see Charlotte again, I hate that character. sort of interesting that James is a cop, but yet in the first or second episode of the series he assisted Kate in evading the law. The theme of mirrors seems to be coming up quite a bit, literally and metaphoically, (Jack smashing Lighthosue mirrors, Sawyer looking into the mirror in the flash sideway but more the mirror between the two time lines, but then there are also mirrors to season 1 (for example the first so many episodes of this season had the smae flashes as the same episode number in season 1), I think the mirroring is significant anyway, you could read into it a bit far though, for example in the flash sideways Sawyer had a copy of 'Watership Down' and in the other timeline they ahd rabbit to eat.

i'm ready for some Kate and Claire action tbh, I think they make a good couple.

interesting that Locke said that the others thought they were protecting the island from him, what has he done/planning to do to the island which made them try to protect it from him, I know it's because Jacob told him too, but why? i'm still unsure why Jacob and MiB are enemies, but it's starting to feel like they were born to be enemies. interesting that Sayid said he isnt going off the island? does he know about being a candidate? maybe he is going to try to be the next Jacob (or the next MiB?) I also found it intresting that MiB was talkign about his "crazy mum" (would be good if his back story develops more) and how Aaron also has one, maybe Aaron is the next MiB? interesting that Widmore wants MiB? supposedly to kill him but I dont think that was said, maybe Widmore is still a follower of Jacob dispite being banished from the island? was interesting that Widmore stayed in the sub aswell, maybe he still can't step foot on the island? just seems a bit funny after all these years of him trying to get back to the island. interesting that MiB sent Sawyer over to the island, so he knew Widmore was there some how, and how/why does he know about Widmore, I sort of had the feeling MiB was a bit too high up in the islands rankings to even give a $h!t about Widmore except Widmore most likely being a candidate (I believe his name is there but crossed out). I love that Sawyer double crossed Widmore and MiB, when he told Kate they were gonna take the sub, did he mean just him and kate? he promised Jin that they would find Sun, is he thinking of rounding up the whole gang first because I cant see him having the oppotunity.

A continuity error I find quite lol is that in the flash sideways, which was 2004, Sawyer was using Microsoft Word 2007.

I've seen the episode come in for quite a lot of stick, but I really enjoyed it.

Chris your point about the mirrors is definitely something that I noticed too. I think it's reference to the fact the two timelines are beginning to crack, and both timelines cannot exist at once. Especially loved Miles and Sawyer in the ALT timeline. Thought their interaction was pretty classy. There was a moment during the episode when I thought Charlotte was going to mention she knew Sawyer from somewhere like with Jack and Desmond.

Good point about Widmore, and him not being back allowed on the island yet. There is a likelyhood that's true imo. I wonder what was in the locked compartment? I'm thinking it's Desmond personally. I always assumed Widmore to be bad, but now I don't even think he has an agenda - he just wants the island. I assumed that he helped Locke get back to the island as he KNEW MiB would take over his body. However I guess not. I felt sympathy again for MiB in the episode, I really can't work him out. I do think he's purely evil however.

One other point - Sun & Jin. Both characters have pretty much been reduced to bit-part players completely, especially Sun. Once they inevitably re-unite I cannot see them getting off the island alive. Same goes for Sayid and Claire.

Cannot wait for next weeks episode.

With Widmore, this is something I thought about a while ago, well when we first found out about candidates, I think when he was on the island he found out/already knew he was a candidate, so despite him being crossed out I think he wants the island still, he wants to be THE candidate, maybe wants the powers MiB and Jacob have.
Is S6 worth it? I kinda lost interest halfway the pilot episode (which I turned off) and haven't watched anything since. I guess its just been too long since Season 5 and I'm having a hard time remembering everything
Just realised the next episode (tonight/tomorrow morning) is the Richard Alpert episode :D

It is meant to be EPIC. As good as The Constant.

Cannot wait. I prefer the Jack/Sun/Frank/Richard/Ben etc. group as opposed to Flocke/Kate/Claire/Sawyer at the moment.

I just love Richard and the hype this episode had before the season even started, so looking forward to it now. my internet has been a pain recently, this best download without taking forever.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUK.

that was a whole different level of Lost.

Where is everyone? just all speechless?

anyway here is my proper comment rather than just saying f***,

I have watched it twice now, and it's still going over in my mind,

a scene i found interesting on the black rock was when smokey pretended to be isabella, he done a pretty good job making the noises while he was also talking to richard.

the dagger definatly has significance, seeing as it's the same one Dogen gave Sayid, I just wonder what it's bigger significance is, also interesting that MiB used the same words Dogen did to Sayid.

Now that bombshell, that convosation between Richard and Jacob, that bottle of wine, f***ing brilliant, so now we know the purpose of the island (to keep the darkness in) and why people are brought to the island (or why jacob brings people to the island, so Jacob can prove MiB wrong) which brings me to the candidates, are the candidates the people Jacob brings to the island to prove MiB wrong, and if so get crossed out when they have sinned or died? i dont believe that although it did cross my mind, due to the fact that say Sawyer must have sinned (or maybe he hasnt sinned on the island?) and he hasnt been crossed out, they are probaly who will take over Jacob (as MiB says he will kill him and then kill any one who replaces him).

One theory I like which I have read is that in the x universe where the island has sunk, the cork (the island) has come of the bottle (the darkness) so the darkness has either come out, or is coming out and that will make something explosive happen in that universe, it's just the fact most of their live's seem to be ok in the flash sideways world, not dark. i like the theory though.

Obviously the darkness though, possibly something MiB has, can seep out somehow, as Claire and Sayid have 'darkness' so maybe that is some darkness but it's ok as long as it's contained on the island and doesnt probaly get through the cork.

nice to see the white rock, good that the injoke is explained.

the convo between MiB and Jacob at the end was almost as good as the Jacob/Richard one, I wonder why jacob is doing all these, holding MiB hostage on the island, and bringing other peole to the island, just to prove MiB wrong? bit unneeded much? maybe there is something in it for he who wins, although Jacob seems to be fully in control, he wont let MiB leave the island, it's like he is trying to punish him or teach him a lesson, i want to know why. I really want a MiB flashback episode, I cant see it happening but it could explain quite a bit, i want to know why him, how did the island become, what is the deeper meaning to him and Jacob being there, all of which they could explain in a MiB centric episode, although they have hinted slightly at his back story (crazy mother). Titus Welliver also did a good acting job this episode you can tell him and Terry O'Quinn are the same person, kudos to both of them. that final shot of MiB smashing the bottle was amazing, just the symbology was brilliant, him smashing the bottle, him letting the darkness out, f***ing brilliant.

Richard did say at the start everything Jacob said was a lie, so another good question is, was it? i'm gonna go with he was telling the truth when he was talking to Richard, I really like the wine bottle explanation of why the island is there and why Jacob brings people to the island.

The setting where Richard buried the necklace is interesting, we havent seen it before, and doesnt look like many people have been there before, seems proper old-school island, i feel it has significance, although all it's significance might have been with Richard.

seems hurley can proper talk to the dead aswell, or at least communicate through the dead, i know we have seen several examples of this (Jacob, Charlie) but what was really interesting is that, he hadnt met Isabella before. Interesting last like from Hurley as well 'or were all going to hell' seems like Damon and Carlton are proper playing on the purgotory theory, I dont buy it though, I think they are just trying to mess with us.

oh and i still want illanna explained <_< re: first scene. although i'm pretty sure were gonna get a flashback episode for her, well not pretty sure but i wouldnt be surprised at all, seems likely as she needs to be explained.

I had a good read through this: http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Ab_Aeterno/Theories earlier some interesting stuff there, probaly a lot has been updated since i looked aswell.

massive well done to the writers of that episode, so superbly written.

I was a little underwhelmed, I will admit. Maybe it was because I watched it earlier this morning idk.

So the Black Rock caused the statue to smash? And Jacob just gave Richard the gift of life by touching him as he agreed to work for Jacob. Hope more of this is explained. I'd like to know why seemigly Jacob holds a lot more power than MiB. I probably thought too much of this episode, as it did reveal a lot, but I was expecting a little bit more.

This episode is probably the best of Season Six so far, and makes me hopeful for the rest of the season. There are still lines that feel a bit flat, and while the symbolism at the end of the episode was a nice touch, it feels a bit in your face and OTT - still 100x better than the dreadful ending last week and probably one of the best ending shots for an episode in the shows history. An interesting theory I've read, which I think really makes a lot of sense, is that all the ghosts that talked to Hurley - Isabella, Charlie, Eko, Ana-Lucia

are all really Jacob manipulating him.

It would explain why Isabella told Richard to stop the MiB from leaving the Island. Otherwise it means that everyone has a spirit and there is an afterlife and I don't particulary want the writers to spell that out to us. I want to leave it ambigious.

Also someone is claiming to know what happens in Lost, including what happens in the finale, due to having a contact in the writers room. Obviously it's all bullcrap, but I thought I would post it, as I think this persons idea of what the final scene could be is quite interesting. I will put it in spoilers just to be safe. This person with 'insider' info said that

- Sun will die next week.

- Charile will return in three weeks time as the final candidate.

- MiB will escape the Island, the Island will sink, however when he reaches the mainland he realises that there can't be darkness without light, evil without good, so he can't/won't spread evil.

- The alt-timeline is the real timeline. The difference between the timelines is that in the alt one, they are leading uneventful lives, due to the Island not having an influence in it.

- The last scene is Jacob and MiB playing a game of chess, each side's chess pieces are in fact candidates. Once a pawn reaches the other side it can turn into something else (John Locke?). The final scene is Jacob winning this game, and the final shot is of a new chess game starting.

Ha those are definitely fake. I'm very sure the final shot of the show will be of one of the original characters, or of the plane crashing again.

For me especially, Sun's line at the beginning was quite telling. I don't think she is a candidate, I think it's Jin. It would make sense, otherwise surely she would have flashed to 1977? (I'm still holding out for an expanation on that, expecting it to be Jacob related). Also i'm pretty sure that she doesn't hold much significance anymore, due to her pretty much LACKLUSTRE appearance throughout Season 6.

The Jacob manipulating Hurley thing is a good theory as well, but I don't know. I hope it's not true, although it would make sense as all these people that appear to him are sort of guiding him, in a way Jacob does to other people. The Richard episode definitely made me see Jacob as the good guy. He basically is God. The same methodology can be applied to him in that, like God, he wants people to make the right decisions, and only they can do do and not he. Everybody else is absolutely bumming this episode, but I just don't see it at the moment. I probably need to re-watch but idk, it just seems to me that LOST is basically going to be explained through two characters we've only just met, I just wish they'd both been introduced sooner (and by sooner, I mean properly). I guess i'm just more of a fan of the island stuff in real time, as opposed to flashbacky stuff. Certain parts of the Richard episode just seemed drawn out, although I will say, top notch for Nestor Carbonell's acting in this episode, was extremely real and very well portrayed.

The Jacob manipulating Hurley theory could explain it quite a bit tbh, but what about say like when he spoke to Charlie (after the O6 escaped the island), I can't remember what he said then but would it mean anything if it was Jacob trying to manipulate Hurley. But yeah the theory would definatly explain it, it's a bit random isabella randomly started talking to Hurley.

To be honest I can see them ending the show, with a new 'game' starting, like a contant cycle. They love Stephen King, and I can just see it bearing some similarity to The Dark Tower, that and that The Stand have been such an influence on the story so far it seems to be pointing that way.

Also I agree with Rooney about this episode - I don't get the hype. While it was a solid episode and the flashbacks are necessary, at this point at time, I'm not as bothered about the mythology as I was during the first three seasons. All I want are some decent character moments this year and I'll be happy. So far the only thing that has moved me is Ben pleading to Ilana.
