May 23, 201015 yr 5am BST? If so it's 8am in 'ere and i have to be at work at this time so :nocheer: Oh lolz, i remembered i haven't even watched the epi 10 so not possible for me anyway  :( Nope, it is 5am BST. ABC has made a deal with other broardcasters, and are simulcasting the finale, so we are getting it live from America (or the West Coast, the East Coast still get it a few hours earlier). So if you did get up to watch it, you would be watching it at the same time as the Americans. And I am looking forward to The End, but the mythological aspect of the season has been a bit lackluster for me so I'm not holding my breathe on that side of things. The answers that we got, were so casually explained like an after thought, and it seemed to me as if it was a chore for the writers. Plus, The Temple was a let down and a stalling device and Across The Sea was a convoluted mess that came far too late in the season. I am certain however that the characters will have a good send off, and for the most part, I really enjoyed 'What They Died For' especially the sideways storyline - which I think will be the only timeline left after the finale. May 23, 201015 yr Pavel your insane, how can you not keep up? if you have the ending ruined for you wont you be distraught? Why would i be distraught? I'd never watch the ending before the earlier episodes! :o Nope, it is 5am BST. ABC has made a deal with other broardcasters, and are simulcasting the finale, so we are getting it live from America (or the West Coast, the East Coast still get it a few hours earlier). So if you did get up to watch it, you would be watching it at the same time as the Americans. Thanks! But the simple 'yes' would've been enough :kink:
May 23, 201015 yr Why would i be distraught? I'd never watch the ending before the earlier episodes! :o if you found out what happened in the end before you saw it what's the point in bothering to watch it. if i found out the ending first i'd kill the person who spoiled it for me.
May 23, 201015 yr I'm really looking forward to the last episode - is bound to be imense  Most likely won't make any f***ing sence but will be bloody good TV at the end of the day  Won't be getting up at 5am but will record it and watch it in the evening after work. As much as I am looking forward to it and have enjoyed this season - the past few episodes havent really lead up to the final very well - they have been a bit half-arsed tbh and were not worthy of the huge hype for the final. I just don't get the feeling it's all coming to an end and wasnt on the edge of my seat or anything. Let's hope it goes out on a high though. :D This week is a terrible week for TV - both Lost and 24 ending forever. :(
May 23, 201015 yr Author The finale is hands down meant to be the best episode of the series - as you'd expect. I agree the mythology aspect hasn't been as good as I had hoped, but when I think about it, I care about the characters more than the mythology. I think a lot is going to be left unanswered, but they've answered a few of the biggies like the smoke monster, adam & eve, why they're on the island. Now i'm just looking forward to character pay-off as that's why I invested into the show. I'm still non-the-wiser about the sideways story but i'm certain it's going to have a huge impact on the end of the show. I'd guess every character is going to "wake-up" and remember the island life like Desmond and Hurley, but what event that leads to i'm not sure.
May 23, 201015 yr f*** im excited. obviously something big is happening in the flash sideways timeline, but how that connects to our normal one is what i really wanna know. as well as the massive showdown Jack vs Locke (as it's always has been). not sure how much they need to answer now really, it's maybe because my mind is jumbled but i cant think of too many things i need answering, this episode can just climax and conclude the whole show and thats good enough for me, no answers, although we do need to know about the sunk island (meaning there being no source) in the flash sideways.
May 23, 201015 yr I'm looking forward to the finale although with some trepidation. For me this series, though good, had been the weakest of them all. Lost's brilliance has been in the characters and the multiple questions it threw up. The characters are still fine although now familiar but the answers we have had to those questions have largley been pretty ordinary and not rather unexpected (smoke monster is jacob's brother! - guessed that the first time they were seen together on the beach. Jacob chose them because they had miserable lives - no $h!t sherlock - That fact was made obvious in series 1. Sun and Gin will finally meet up again and then die). Also too many questions and loose ends not even mentioned in ages, that just gives the impression that they've been largely making it up as they go along and have actually forgotten half the things they put in there along the way (Walt being special, why can't people have babies on the island, polar bears - why?, moving the island etc). Still all that aside it IS cracking telly and I can't really complain as it has kept me entertained for 6 years. Oh and as far as I am concerned Jacob is the bad guy. MiB has always just wanted to go travelling but Jacob and everyone else won't let him because mum said it was a bad idea and people would find and ruin the island. MiB had no reason to endanger the island by leaving.
May 23, 201015 yr polar bears where just Dhama testing, im pretty sure the babies thing is Jacob and MiB being born related, they have still included many references to it throughout the years, or maybe it was something Jacob did, Jacob was so annoyed that he got born into his position he wanted to his replacement to be people who had their faults, rather than having someone born into the role, it's left open to theorise I guess. The island was moved for it's own protection, i'm pretty sure that was covered in the series 4 finale, it was hardly random.
May 23, 201015 yr Author I still firmly believe Jacob IS the good guy and MiB is bad. I'm sure him killing Sayid, Sun & Jin was a sign of that. It's obvious that MiB and Jacob are seen as parodies to God & Satan. Like Satan, MiB was the favourite in mythology. Jacob is like God. There's a degree of ambiguity over God's morals, but it's all about free will and choices (like Jacob). Severin in answer to your questions, the Walt question and the babies question are really the ones that haven't been answered. Polar bears were brought on the island because of Dharma, and they subsequently tested them with time travelling. And the wheel, well it moves the island by powering into the light. It's just something we're going to have to accept, much like time travelling etc.
May 23, 201015 yr I know the polar bears were Dharma test subjects but why and what for? The moving of the Island I get why and how but it seems to have acheived sod all as it hardly stopped anyone finding it. Seems simply for dramatic effect
May 23, 201015 yr Author I know the polar bears were Dharma test subjects but why and what for? The moving of the Island I get why and how but it seems to have acheived sod all as it hardly stopped anyone finding it. Seems simply for dramatic effect Well Dharma tested things on animals. They used them as guinea pigs to explore the islands properties. They definitely made one time travel as Charlotte found it in Tunisia I think. And if you think about it, MiB told Locke (as Christian) that he needed to move the island. He exploited this in order to be able to imitate Locke when he had died.
May 24, 201015 yr Admittadley I've never really watched the show, but I had to have a little ROFL at the ending. Quite obvious no?
May 24, 201015 yr James as I tried telling you on MSN, in the alternate universe they were all dead, not on the island.
May 24, 201015 yr Author The producers said that the last shot, they were always going to use. I guess Jack was always going to die in the bamboo field where he woke up and have Vincent next to him as he died. Nice how the ended the show with how it began. Wow on so many levels. A still lot needed to be digested. The moments where the characters woke-up and remembered were so touching, and it gave closure for all the characters, made me pretty emotional when I was watching it knowing that this was the end, and all those hours i'd invested into the characters were coming to an end. I didn't see the sideways twist however. It's nice to know that after they'd all died they'd created a place where they could all find each other again and move on to death after purgatory??
May 24, 201015 yr Author Right i'll deal with the island stuff first and then the sideways stuff. The island stuff was very well executed. There were a few little moments of 'wtf' e.g. Ben being stuck under a tree, and then magically reappearing on the cliffside! I thought the Jack and Locke final battle was a bit of an anti-climax, although in the end both characters were the end of each other. I guess Jacob referring to the cork was actually literal. I think Desmond believed he would die when he pulled out the cork, but he didn't. If you think about it, Desmond had known he was going to die at some point as he did say to Locke "none of it matters anymore". He'd already accepted his fate and knew he was going on to a better place. I thought it was a bit odd how Richard, Frank, Miles, Kate, Sawyer and Claire all left the island, presumabley to lead out the rest of their lives. I didn't see the Jack twist coming either, that it was never meant to be him - it was always meant to be Hurley. Ben being asked to be his adviser, sort of gave closure to his character and acted as a final redemption. I'd have liked to have known how long the two of them had been protectors of the island for, although I guess we're just meant to assume a long time. Now onto the sideways stuff. It was beautifully played out aside from one moment of ABSOLUTE CHEESE from Sayid and Shannon. The Jin & Sun, and Claire & Charlie realisation moments were fantastic. Locke's was also beautifully written when he wriggled he toes like he did in the Pilot. I guess David was not real at all. He was a figure of imagination Jack had conjured up in order to block out his father issues. That scene where Jack "wakes-up" is hands down my favourite scene of the entire show. It was magical. It was Jack who had the hardest time letting go, and it was played out just as he was dying in real time. All of the Oceanic815 members were ready to move on to the next life, as they'd found what was special to them and that was all that was needed. The final Locke & Ben scene was also just brilliant. Locke had accepted Ben's jealously and he had finally realised why Ben had killed him when he was alive. I thought it was touching that Ben was not ready to move on yet - he still had to redeem himself more. Elouise Hawking must have known like Desmond that she was in purgatory. Characters like Ana-Lucia, Miles, Daniel, Charlotte etc. were not ready to move on yet, which is why they did not enter the church. I guess it explains Michael's absense from the purgatory aswell - he was still stuck on the island. I'd have liked to have seen Walt, as I know for a fact that he had filmed a scene, but I guess it wasn't neccessary, otherwise it would have been incluced in the finale. Poetic.
May 24, 201015 yr Wow great final, the scene with Jack and Locke were fighting it out was brilliant executed, and when Locke's reaction when Jack threw the first fist, and tasted blood, he knew the game was up instantly, it was priceless to watch. Finding each other was emotional, like when Charlie finds Claire. Oh and when did Richard lost his powers I didn't see that getting explained, because when Miles plucked his grey hair and show it to Richard, he was a bit clueless. In the end to sum up all the whole series, I'm glad it found closure, it sort of tied everything up. The only thing I did not understand Juliet was Jack's wife, and then Sawyer and Juliet started snogging their faces off.

Richard getting a grey hair was a sign that he had lost his immortality (or that's what I gathered). He was now able to die naturally, which is why he wanted to carry on living for the time being. Well the ALT stuff was all just purgatory that was not actually real. Once they had "awoken" then had found their true love, hence why Jack and Kate ended up together, and Juliet and Sawyer ended up together.
May 24, 201015 yr Right, i'm still digesting it all, but it was a very good episode, well a very good TV show. i'm very sad it's over, but the show is so big and complex we will still be analysing in a year. I dont really no what to say... It was pretty obvious that was gonna be the parting shot, I sort of disliked it and sort of liked it, I guess I didnt like it due to predictability. One thing that did annoy me though, once Jack put the cork(?) back in, he just sort of laid there waiting to die for ages, he could of easily yanno, got out, still the guy is a f***ing hero. Also noting that he landed in the same spot as MiB, I was thinking he may of turned into black smoke himself, starting the circle again, i dont believe that, but would be lol, MiB wasnt a bad guy until he went into the light, could of turned the legend that is Jack into evil. I'm glad Jack and Kate declared their love for each other aswell, I normally dont really care about romance storylines, but that one I really did. Locke's death could of been a bit more exciting imo. Nice to see characters we havent seen in ages in the flash sideways, such as Juliet, Boone and Shannon. shame we didnt see Walt or Mr Eko. I like Hurley and Ben being the island protectors, (they are like a not $h!t Clegg and Cameron ). I also like the idea of the flash sideways being the afterlife for them, now does anyone remember when Desmond time travelled a few series ago, when he first met Eloise? I get the feeling he might of actually gone to the flash sideways. I also liked how he knew about it in the original timeline (although clearly didnt know it was the afterlife). thats all for right this second, i'm sure i'll post more comments later.
