I guess the two lists are different then? One is MiB's, one if Jacob's. I don't think they'd allow continuity errors as big as those.

Yeah, I think your right Rooney. Nice touch that Jacob uses a lighthouse while MIB uses a dark cave.

Mad Claire ftw simply amazing.

My second favourite episode so far this season, behind the first half of LA X. That ending was twisted and creepy, I feel so bad for Jin :(

I personally think it should be Sarah who is the mum, Juliet would make things more convoluted.

damn i didnt think of that Daniel. light vs dark again, although how sure are we it isnt Jacob's cave aswell, the ladder has been dubbed 'Jacobs ladder'

Stunning.

Sayid was menacing. I'm not sure what to make of him now he's turned evil. Unfortunately I can't see Sayid surving the series now. Serious WOW at creepy Claire too. I had chills down my spine watching her in the pit. Such good acting. Terry O'Quinn plays MiB so well as well.

So all of the Losties are choosing sides now, and it doesn't look like there are many GOOD Losties left: Jack, Hurley, Ilana, Sun, Frank, Miles, Ben, Kate, Richard opposed to Locke/MiB, Sawyer, Claire, Sayid, Jin(??). It's tense stuff.

pretty epic when smokey invaded the temple.

I definatly think the flash sideways are subtly reflecting what happened on the island, in this episode's case Sayid being asked to go use his skills elsewhere (like when he interrogated Sawyer).

Was nice to see the scales come up again, thought it was significant, also interesting that Dogen said that Sayid's "tipped the wrong way" not whether it was the evil or good side, but I assume the evil, I definatly think Sayid has this darkness now, maybe after his meeting with MiB, as he killed Dogan and Lennon.

I cant wait to see claire vs kate, the look on claire's face when Kate said she took Aaron was brilliant.

Sayid definitely has the darkness now, but it's been fuelled by his desire to see Nadia again. One thing I can't work out is though, was Dogen telling the truth when he said that Sayid could kill the MiB before he spoke? I'm not quite sure. Also after this episode I can honestly see John Locke fighting to take his body back. I think that's the only was the MiB can be defeated.
I think this darkness must be needed for a large desire to get someone back, actually i;m sure of it and am now feeling quite stupid for not thinking it before Sayid - to get Nadia back, Claire - to get Aaron back, Sawyer - to get Juliet back (ok Sawyer has no hope but he has lost her).

I agree. The MiB is playing on people's emotions and hatred, Sayid and Claire being prime examples. It's clear that he brought both of them back to life for whatever reason (and HOW he did it I have no idea). But it also adds emphasis to the fact that when Anthony Cooper pushed Locke out of the window he did actually die. But for whatever reason Jacob brought him back to life. It does seem that both men have the power to gift life.

when did claire die? did i forget that or something? i wonder who else jacob or mib have brought back to life, Jacob said he would bring Dogen's son back too, so he definatly has the power.

Season 4. When Keamy etc. stormed the barracks. I'm vvvv.sure she died. Miles looked at her extremely funny (the same way he looked at Sayid after he'd "died") and she had a whole house fall on her, and this was previous to her having a house fall on her!

I think both MiB and Jacob are bad. If you think about it, both of them are using all the characters involved in the show for whatever reason. Sure Jacob's intentions are probably for good, but he's mapped out people's lives and basically forced people to work for him on the island. I'm gonna take a stab in the dark here, but i'll guess that the reason Richard doesn't age is because of a deal he made with Jacob.

I'm loving this series so far, can't wait for Shannon to return!!! Hopefully we get to see Ana Lucia again though i'm not holding my breath

It's confirmed she'll be back

Nearly a week after it was broadcast, I finally got round to watching the last episode - flop Lost fan.

Anyway, really loving mad Claire. Im not sure if she's died or not though, it certainly makes sense though, like has been said - a house did fall on her, Miles looking strangely at her, her being in the cabin etc.

Was a great episode though. Im really liking the fact the survivors are split down the middle in terms of sides and Sayid being evil, agreed though he's certainly not gonna be surviving the series. I really want Jin & Sun to be reuinted though, they seem to have spent the series so far tracing each others steps!

I've got to say I am so f***ing glad they are out of the Temple now for good, one of the worst settings they have had on the show. Also I'm still finding it hard to connect on a emotional level to the sideways flashes, at the moment I don't care about them at all. The best thing about Sundown being Flocke of course, and Claire who I find chilling and captivating, I can't wait to see what happens to her. Also when Frank, Ben, Ilana and Sun turned up during the Temple takedown, I was like finally some more characters I actually care about; and when Ben runs away from evil Sayid I couldn't help but laugh. Hopefully now people have chosen their respective sides, character storylines and motivations have been set up, and we are out of the Temple, the episodes will get increasingly better.

Oh, and the ending was great, with Claire's singing 'Catch a Falling Star', and the way MiB looked at Claire and Sayid as they walked towards him, and then the way he looked at Kate and then turned and walked off. So atmospeheric and the first time this season I've thought after an episode has aired, "wow season six is finally going places" and the first time I'm clueless at where the story is going (another plus of getting rid of the Temple).

I honestly cannot describe how much at times I was moved by this episode. :| Michael Emerson was absolutely fantastic. The scene where he runs away from Illana and breaks down was so good on so many levels. I think this episode is one of my favourite ever episodes of LOST. I really enjoyed the flash-forwards and we learned a little bit more about Richard and the candidates. The ending where everyone was grouped on the beach was so good as well, and then Widmore coming back to the island?! It's getting so interesting now, but I really have no idea what direction the series is heading in.

f*** can Michael Emerson act, well impressed with that, i was going to be really pissed off if they killed him off, same with Richard, Illanna is such a bitch. Felt moved at parts aswell Rooney, really felt sorry for Ben, he got really manipulated by MiB to kill Jacob, I think he is generally actually a good person (especially shown in the flash sideways), he has just had the worst a lot, he has got f***ed around quite a bit tbh. I loved Locke in the flash sideways saying he should be principal, love that guy. best flash-sideways we have had so far imo, cool seeing Roger Linus, and as always epic seeing Arzt.

Will be interesting seeing where Richard has been (he said Jack wouldnt believe it if he said it), another question answered that we sort of already worked out (why Richard is ageless), but because Jacob touched him, so maybe all the candidates that have been touched become ageless once on the island? that scene with Jack and Richard with the dynamite was f***ing brilliant, I think I saw a rule there, you cant kill each other (candidates cant kill each other), maybe MiB is a candidate too, and the boy was reminding him he cant kill Sawyer a few episodes ago, also its now definate the "chains" MiB mentioned when he saw Richard in the season opening episodes, I think they must have kept him chained for quite a bit, seeing as Richard recognised it was MiB in those first two episodes of the season, but MiB hadnt seen him without his chains before, but they had obviously had enough time together to recognise each other, so the question is why was he kept chained up? or was it Richard didnt come on the black rock (I know he must of came to the island centuries ago though), but he was kept chained in the black rock for sometime on the island.

I love that little bit of Miles quality in this episodes, when Illana said Jacob was the closet thing to a father to her and walks off, Miles just looks at Ben and is like "uh oh", had me rofling.

It's about time we had Ilana explained tbh, for example why does she want the candidates (she said if anyone wanted to find Jin it's her - citing because he is a candidate), and also she said there are "only 6 candidates left", so if we are not counting Locke, we dont have a 6th non-crossed out candidate, i'm thinking this is either Richard, Ben, or Frank, most likley Richard, seeing as Ilana was willing to kill Ben, and Richard couldnt be killed by Jack, and then Frank just because his name hasnt been seen yet in the lighthouse or the cave, i'm hoping Richard is though, Frank is kind of likley though seeing how Ben pointed out "the island still got him" when Frank said he was meant to fly 815. but then again with Ben, Jacob was hoping he was "wrong" about Ben just before he killed him.

It will be interesting to know how Miles knows about the diamonds buried with those $h!t characters, unless he did his talk to the dead $h!t with them. Nice power MiB has aswell when he pointed at the chain around Ben's ankle, I wonder what else he can do?

The scene where Richard, Hurley and Jack arrived back on the beach was horrifying, I wish they wouldnt so scenes like that, we have seen them so many times before, the slow music, one person running and hugging, Jack shaking everyones hand, its just so... cringe, I hated it, why cant they greet each other with less tackiness, one of the worst scenes ever in Lost, right up there with all the other times they have reunited with each other.

Ending was very interesting, I had the smallest feeling we hadnt seen the last of Widmore, but what is he up to this time? does he know of Jacob's death? does he know about candidates? I think Widmore was shown and crossed off, I think he might want to be the new Jacob, who knows, I guess we'll find out very soon.

Also reading about the episode, apparently Hurley has never met Richard before? it seemed like he had but we and obviosuly the producers forgot he hadnt, the only explanation could be that Hurley had been told about his never ageing, but how would he know he was Richard? has Jack met him? because Jack was acting like it.

Yeah Jack has met Richard before. Season 3, mid-way through at some point when Jack was living with the Others.

For me the most telling part about this episode was Richard's lack of confidence in Jacob. It seems to be that he could very easily be persuaded to go to MiB's side.

I still think the 6 candidates mentioned by Illana are the original 6 candidates. I think it's clear that MiB is also trying to recruite THE candidate, but nobody knows who it is yet. I still believe Locke is a candidate, but I don't think he is THE candidate (has got to be Jack, surely?).

I think Richard fears MiB too much to go to his side, when you say you "still" think the 6 candidates mentioned by Ilana are the original 6, when has she mentioned 6 candidates before? the only hint we have had if 6 are the ones we have seen not crossed out (including Locke there are 6), although 4,8,15,16,23,42 is 6 numbers, but then doesnt 108 have significance (Wallace, crossed out). I definatly think Richard has been a candidate, other wise what is his purpose, and if he was and inst anymore, why is he still about? (his name hasnt been seen on the lists yet though).

But Jacob has a lot of followers, all of the Others for example - they're no longer candidates, but they're still loyal to Jacob. I think Jacob did something for Richard that made him gift eternal life. The more I think about it, I don't think Candidates can actually die. Remember Michael couldn't kill himself although I still don't know whether it was MiB or Jacob, or just Christian who appeared to him and told him he was ready to die now. I think numbers of the 6 relate to THE numbers, and Dharma Initative were trying to change the equation of those numbers. I think the candidates Illana was referring to were Locke, Sawyer, Hurley, Jack, Sayid and Sun/Jin. Jack for me is still the candidate as well.
actually if they cant kill each other like i suggested then how did Ben kill John (Linus was on the cave crossed out), unless it was after Ben was crossed out or Linus was refering to Roger Linus Ben's father, but seeing as Ben was the leader of the others and had access to Jacob's cabin etc i'm gonna assume Linus is referring to Ben.
