May 25, 201015 yr I thought the whole thing was a bit more Steven King-esque than Speilberg myself The whole thing was more King but the ending was very Spielberg which is why it fits awkwardly for so many
May 26, 201015 yr I was disappointed by the ending. I feel like i still have so many questions and it just didnt make sense
May 26, 201015 yr the last scene was literally the first scene in reverse, i love the detail they put in... PK7CJ_2K-1E
May 29, 201015 yr Lost is Epic - loved the finale. Such a shame that there is no more. I loved seeing Rose, Bernard and Juliet again. Oh and how Boone has changed, he appeared to be more like Damon in The Vampire Diaries than Boone from Lost. :)
May 29, 201015 yr Yeah I think it signifies Jacob's reign as island leader is over. I can watch that final 10 minutes of the show over and over again. Everything about it is so beautiful. Locke was probably my favourite character throughout the show and I was annoyed he didn't get closure. But he actually did. He doubts whether he was ever special and that handshake with Jack at the end just brings a smile to my face. Both characters are finally at peace with one another after everything they went through on the island. I always wondered what the ending would be, and i'm delighted that it's not something I hate. The actual last shot with Jack was the ending of his actual life, but even though the characters moved-on, that wasn't the end for them, it's just the beginning. It reminds me of the Narnia books, as there's a place than they're already in, and the characters have just got to reach that place. That's what it reminded me of as well. Escpecially, because Susan wasn't allowed to come to heaven yet as she 'wasn't ready' even though it was C.S. Lewis basically saying 'No sluts allowed' :P The whole thing was more King but the ending was very Spielberg which is why it fits awkwardly for so many It reminded me very much of what happened with Susannah, Jake, Eddie and Oy in The Dark Tower series and the characters in Narnia. It doesn't remind me of Spielberg in the slightest. I urge all Lost fans to read these DT books, if you wish to fill the Lost sized hole in side of you. Well, I've just finished watching the finale, and I thought it ended fantastically. The overarching themes of Lost (Life, death, rebirth, redemption) were explored and the characters had a fantastic send-off. The last image of the show, was predicted by many, but was still excuted extremely well. The idea of the alt timeline being a place where they will all meet after they die, and they 'move on' to heaven together, puts the whole show into context for me, and I liked how the real timeline ended with Hurley and Ben becoming the new Jacob and Richard; Frank, Richard, Miles, Sawyer, Kate and Claire leaving the Island for good and of course Jack dying in reverse of how he woke up at the beginning of the show. I agree that's its a very poetic and satisfying end, and manages to put everying into context, which makes some of the rot in the last couple of seasons better in effect. However, Season Six as a whole doesn't better some of the earilier seasons, although 'The End' is my favourite Lost episode. Season One Season Three Season Six Season Two Season Four Season Five In terms of finales it still doesn't top 'Everyone's Waiting' for me. Edited May 29, 201015 yr by Daniel Gleek
May 29, 201015 yr Author No I agree Season 6 has been a tad disappointing. Maybe it's just because I was expecting so much more? I wasn't a huge fan of the Jacob/MiB stuff really, it always seemed too forced to me. The lack of real Locke was also not good, although Terry O'Quinn played MiB fantastic. You actually did believe there were two completely different characters in there. The last 1/3 of Season 3 for me was the best, it finished so strongly... Through The Looking Glass is still my favourite ever episode just as it is jaw-dropping at the end. The only part of the show I really didn't like was the beginning of Season 3, apart from that i've loved it all. It's still not sunk in that it's not coming back. The Season 6 DVD is going to have an epilogue detailing Ben and Hurley's time on the island (with Walt!). Can't wait. I'm still just so satisfied with the ending. No way did I see the sideways world being purgatory after they'd all died so that they could all find each other and move on. I really like how all the characters were at peace with each other at the end and had come to accept that they all needed each other. LOST is honestly one of those shows that you just HAVE to watch in order to understand it. If people just watch the finale, or just read it there's no wonder they think the show is stupid. You have to go on the journey with all the characters. I do sort of wonder if the purgatory world at the end was always a part of the show though. I have the feeling if J.J had always been apart of the show that the island WOULD have been purgatory, but it wasn't, it was all real. You have to wonder what all the actors are going to go onto now though? I know Daniel Dae Kim is in the Hawaii-O Five remake. I'm very sure the likes of Terry O'Quinn, Michael Emerson, Matthew Fox, Josh Holloway and Evangeline Lilly are going to be in very high demand though..!

YES YES YES. and by "with Walt" is that, he comes back to the island :o oh i want it to continue forever so I know what the characters are doing.
May 29, 201015 yr Author YES YES YES. and by "with Walt" is that, he comes back to the island :o oh i want it to continue forever so I know what the characters are doing. Not sure, I reckon Hurley might go and visit him. He shot scenes with Hurley and Ben so... I think there's 30mins of extra footage PLUS all the deleted scenes and everything, so it's definitely going to be a must purchase. I'd like to know what happened with Richard, Sawyer, Miles, Kate, Claire, Frank, Desmond etc. and know what happened after they got back home and when they died etc.

Like a 6-minute bonus clip on the DVD or something.

September 15, 201014 yr Ok so I just watched the final season of Lost. Now since they all died, does it mean that they all died in the first season and that all 6 season were them in limbo?
September 15, 201014 yr NO. They did not die in the plane crash. The island is not limbo. One could argue the 'flash sideways' storyline in the final season was limbo. The definitive ending of the show is not that they are all dead, everyone dies sometime or did you think they would live forever?
September 15, 201014 yr Author The ending of the show was basically; even when you die, those that you are truly close to and have the best moments of your life with, will follow you into the afterlife which is a truly beautiful and magical event (as Desmond realises). I can't believe so many people have this idea that they ALL died in the plane crash (although ABC did not help the matter LOL). The key to everything about the show and the purgatory they are in is with the scene between Jack and his Dad, when Jack realises he died on the island. Basically everything that happened on the island was real. Jack died. Kate, Sawyer, Kate, Claire, Miles, Richard and Lapidus all eventually got off the island for good. Desmond survived the show, and Hurley and Ben protected the island until it was Walt's time to take over.

That was set years later when they all eventually died? I dont get the whole walt thing though. How did he end up taking over the island, did i miss that in the last episode?
September 16, 201014 yr So when they were all in limbo at the end of the season. That was set years later when they all eventually died? I dont get the whole walt thing though. How did he end up taking over the island, did i miss that in the last episode? first question: yes. second question: it's in 'The New Man In Charge' the 12 minute epilogue on the dvd.
September 16, 201014 yr So when they were all in limbo at the end of the season. That was set years later when they all eventually died? Time doesn't exist in the purgatory plain, so for example even though Claire may have died years after Jack did, they would both arrive in the "afterlife" at the same time. September 18, 201014 yr Author Yeahh I echo what the other two have said. Christian Shepherd tells jack "some of them have died before you, and some of them long after" (pre-Jack's death; Locke, Shannon, Boone etc.) and post-Jack (Kate, Hurley, Desmond, Sawyer etc...). Presumably when they were all over-taken by the light at the end they moved on to the next stage of the afterlive that was even greater.
