On Shannon, quite a bit spolierish:

apparently the fact that Maggie Grace won't be in the early episodes of season six (despite the alternate timeline where Flight 815 lands safely) will be explained. Not only does the plane land safely, but the repercussions from the nuke going off mean that both Shannon and Boone are very different people than the ones we know. Their backstory will be significantly altered.

less spoilerish on the sawyer/kate/juliet triangle:

Sawyer kisses either Kate or Juliet within the first four hours of the season.

I think

the alternate timeline will be bad for everyone. And it will tell us that they had to have crashed on the island, or else their lives would be misery anyway if the plane didn't crash. I don't know the grip with the alternate timeline, but there's got to be something massive about it or else the producers would not play it out in the final season. I'm thinking either the Losties/others wonder what would happen if the plane crashed, they have some reccolation of being on the island, or people on the island pre-1977 know all about the Losties and want them dead/whatever

.

 Looks amazing, I dont think I can contain myself, so so so so so so excited.

The second extended trailer, best quality I could find. The first extended trailer is now available to download free from UK iTunes. (the link should be on the homepage)

shame about the quality but WOAH, i'm excited.

I know i've said it a thousand times in this thread but I am really really really looking forward to this, like more than anything else right now, I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas but it's just so far away, I might even make a Lost advent calender, counting down the days until it starts.

I know that trailer gave me tingles, I've been with the show since it first started in the UK way back in August 2005, I can't believe it's all about to end :o Can't wait to get the Season Five box set for christmas and finish my rewatch.

Have you seen the first extended trailer yet- the first half of it is amazing but the second trailer hypes the show up a lot better I think.

I'm totally excited now :o

That photo just pretty much confirms to me that the real Locke will be 'revived' at the end of the show. There's too many biblical referneces already in the show for him not to come back at the end imo. If that was the real Locke's actual death in Season 5 then it's a bit of a rubbish death for such a major character.

I disagree, I love the way they wrapped up Locke. It was a good ending because his death is so shocking, miserable and bleak and is done in such a way that it seems almost like an afterthought- which adds to the tragicness of it all- the final twist that he was never important is a very daring way to end it. Not to mention it raises the stakes when it comes to the Man In Black and makes him a good villain despite not knowing about him until to the Season Five finale.

I prefer the idea that Locke is a tragic character and I hope they keep it that way. For me, it will add extra poignancy while I'm rewatching the series and will make me see his story in a whole new light. Bringing back Locke as a comparison to Jesus seems a bit obvious to me and not very subtle, although that's most likely what the writers plan to do. I think the ending they have already given Locke would be more remembered and praised in years to come, once the initial backlash has died down, then if they give him a happy/he was right all along ending

Well in a way, I sort of believe he's dead but I don't want him to be. I believe him still to be special. Jacob already revived him when he fell out of the building and I still believe there's significance in his character, like all the remaining 815ers who are still alive (don't believe we saw Jacob touch him for no reason). I think he's still got some part to play in the war, and once Flocke eventually dies (which me MUST do before the end of the series) then I do have that feeling Locke will become the islands new keeper/watcher. I know the Damon and Carlton are massive fans of Stephen King and i'm pretty sure they killed Locke off there and then for the 'Nick Andos' effect. In his book, The Stand massive emphasis is placed upon Nick being special and then he just dies. But the difference being he was special and he was meant to lead the survivors. It's sort of different with Locke, as he was never actually special to the island, he only believed himself to be special.

Only a month to go now!

At first I thought Jacob's touch brought Locke back to life after his fall, but now I'm not so sure- maybe we just assumed Locke was dead? Maybe Jacob only touched Locke as, like the Man in Black, he was using him as a pawn? Maybe Jacob made a mistake in thinking Locke was special or perhaps his touch means something completely different? I think Locke will be back in some shape or form, especially if

the first third of the season does focus on what would have happened if the plane never crashed.

However I do hope that whatever they do with Locke they keep his ending bleak. I haven't read The Stand (I'm aware of what the plot is) but I know Carlton do love Stephen King, The Dark Tower series is a very obvious inspiration for the show. I've never heard anyone compare him to Nick though, but going by your description of him, they do sound similar.

I definitely think he brought him back to life. For starters he fell 13(?) floors out of a window, so he must have been almost dead. I'm pretty sure had Jacob not been there he'd have died, but obviously he has some importance. I watched the S5 finale the other day on Sky1 and I forgot how easily Jacob could tell who the Man In Black was. I still can't get my head around whether Jacob wanted to die or not. At first he tried to tempt Ben not to kill him, but then it seemed to me like he wanted to be killed because he knew "they" were coming - pretty sure that refers to everyone stuck in 1977 but not sure. For me Locke's got to me important - he's always been the island's favourite. They've been plenty of time when he should have died, but the island has healed him (Boone going into the plane instead of Locke, being shot by Ben, hatch implosion etc.). And that can't all be the work of MIB.

"The two-hour season opener contains more answers to the show's mysteries than the whole previous season."

Holy $h!t. Can't wait. :w00t:

Note to self: NEVER tell any even little spoilers to a person who is REALLY obsessed with Lost anymore, it might be dangerous! :(
