June 27, 200619 yr Thanks for posting the 'Hurt' video, Mark. I absolutely love that song and the album it's from, 'American V:The Man Comes Around' is a fantastic album The last album in the series, "American V: A Hundred Highways" is out on July 4 and includes "Like the 309," the last song written by Johnny Cash before his death. The album was recorded in the months leading up to his death and features covers of Bruce Springsteen, Gordon Lightfoot and Rod McKuen tracks. Rick Rubin, the producer says of it ' These songs are Johnny's final statement," Rubin says. "They are the truest reflection of the music that was central to his life at the time. This is the music that Johnny wanted us to hear." The tracklisting for "American V: A Hundred Highways" is: "Help Me" "God's Gonna Cut You Down" "Like The 309" "If You Could Read My Mind" "Further On Up The Road" "The Evening Train" "I Came To Believe" "Love's Been Good To Me" "A Legend In My Time" "Rose Of My Heart" "Four Strong Winds" "I'm Free From the Chain Gang Now" On the subject of Johnny Cash, I would recommend seeing the film 'Walk The Line' It's a great biopic of JC and, both Joaquin Phoenix as Johnny Cash and Reese Witherspoon as June Carter are fantastic in their roles :D

July 8, 200619 yr Just listening to American V now and it's another great album from JC Just a shame that this is the last in the American Recordings series and, considering he wasn't a well man when he recorded it, you could never tell, as his voice is as good as ever! A fantastic final abum from a music legend!
July 8, 200619 yr Most of his most well know songs are covers <_< Edited July 8, 200619 yr by Scotty.
July 8, 200619 yr Author Most of his most well know songs are covers <_< Yeah quite a few are -_- I only found that out recently, that's why I originally put him in here! But no other forum would really cater for him anyway so here is best as he has written some stuff. ^_^
July 9, 200619 yr Come on guys, Johnny Cash wrote and recorded hits such as Cry, Cry, Cry, I Walk The Line, Folsom Prison Blues, Man In Black and San Quentin amongst others. Ring Of Fire was co-written by his then lover, June Carter, about their relationship and, although it was originally recorded by her sister, Anita Carter, who remembers her version? And we can't forget, it was JC who recorded A Boy Named Sue and made it a hit
