(2009/08/31) Enya has decided to release the 20 best albums of all time-intensive than a year-long career. Japan will be released on November 18 (overseas 11 16). September 1, 200915 yr Journal of Songs...not such a good name. :( Anyway I had an brief Enya releated dream last night haha...some advert appeared on TV and I remember it said it included Caribbean Blue, Only If, Trains and Winter Rains, Exile, Evening Falls, Hope Has a Place, Amarantine and two new songs. Let's see how accurate that small list is then... :lol:
September 2, 200915 yr Author Journal of Songs is only a working title right now, so who knows? I'm thinking it's going to be more creative than that. ^_^ It bothers me that some people aren't happy that this is going to be released, they would rather have something else or whatever...I'm just glad that we're getting any release at all knowing the time frame in which we get a new album.... :o

September 2, 200915 yr Ya the albums are coming at a fairly consistant rate which is great, and im sre there wont be a huge gap in a new studio album after this up coming best of either.

September 3, 200915 yr Author I think Enyaland is doing well...only one year without a release from the looks of your chart. :heart: I'd say we're doing pretty good as well. I looked in the discography, Willows on the Water was on Only Time: The Collection, the Only If.. single, the Only Time remix US single, and A Box of Dreams. It was indeed a b-side. ^_^ SSG remix, hmm...a lot of people think Miraculum is going to make it as well...I'm not sure about either.
September 3, 200915 yr I can't see Miraculum making it tbh. Very average if you ask me, and if it didn't make AWC, I can't see Enya and the Ryans seeing it as one of their favourites in all honesty.
September 5, 200915 yr Author I was thinking Miraculum wouldn't make it because it's not "best of" material like Orinoco Flow or Caribbean Blue would be...I don't know if they would consider any b-sides as "best of" material.
September 5, 200915 yr But this is an album of personal favourites, of Enya, Nicky and Roma, so perhaps it won't be only singles... I'm hoping 'Fallen Embers' makes the cut.
September 6, 200915 yr Author Enya likes If I Could Be Where You Are, Marble Halls, Fallen Embers, Amarantine, and Oiche Chiuin as personal preferences, if I'm recalling correctly...Roma would probably lean toward Water Shows the Hidden Heart...Nicky, I have no clue... I wouldn't rule out b-sides if I was the person putting it together, Oriel Window is among her best work, I think...and I love The Promise. :wub: I'm just not sure if they are considering a set list of tracks or if everything is fair game.

IICBWYA in particular is a real "non-favourite" of mine...
September 6, 200915 yr Author The songs Enya likes are opposite of what I do. I have been getting into Fallen Embers more lately, though. I'm also hoping that Oiche Chiuin doesn't show up again, that has seen the light on many releases. Off-topic for a second: I really love this part on Fallen Embers. How far we are from morning, how far we are and the stars shining through the darkness, falling in the air. :wub: I'm unsure if I have the songs right that Enya loves...I know Marble Halls is right for sure, but those others come to my mind, I swear I've heard them mentioned...
September 6, 200915 yr I wouldn't be too surprised if Marble Halls cropped up again. I'd quite like HCIKFS to be included too, but I'm not too sure it will be after all the hoo-haa that arose back in 1991!

Time Flies! - And Winter Came Only Time - A Day Without Rain May It Be - Misc. Anywhere Is - The Memory of Trees Caribbean Blue - Shepherd Moons Orinoco Flow - Watermark I can't see any of the above being omitted at all, so that's nine of the 20 pretty much guaranteed I think. Following on from recent discussions then regarding Enya and Roma's personal favourites... Fallen Embers - A Day Without Rain Marble Halls - Shepherd Moons Water Shows the Hidden Heart - Amarantine And we shouldn't forget Nicky... wasn't it him who really wanted this whole 'choir of one' on And Winter Came? Well, let's say that's what he wants to contribute as his personal highlight, we get stuck once again with... Oiche Chiuin (Chorale) - And Winter Came So that's 13 of the 20... I'll have a stab at the remaining seven! Sumiregusa - Amarantine Someone Said Goodbye - Amarantine I think Enya may choose the remix of Someone Said Goodbye for the album, and I can't imagine Sumiregusa missing out either myself... Last Time by Moonlight - And Winter Came Simply too good to miss out... I Want Tomorrow - The Celts This would sound good re-recorded I think, though I'm not sure it'll happen! Wild Child - A Day Without Rain Evening Falls - Watermark Two singles with reasonable success. I think Evening Falls went top 20 in the UK as well which is good. For the final track I'll stick my neck out and say we'll get a new song. I hope so anyway! So... 1. Orinoco Flow - Could an Enya best of not open with this song? I don't think so! 2. It's in the Rain - Sticking with the relatively upbeat theme, I wouldn't be surprised to see this early on on the album either. 3. Caribbean Blue - Once again, keeping with the upbeat theme, just as Enya did on Paint the Sky with Stars. 4. Only Time - Slight diversion here, but Enya's strongest selling single (I think) needs to be on near the start! 5. Trains and Winter Rains - I still love this song, it's so different to most Enya stuff and it really reminds me of starting university. 6. I Want Tomorrow - Time to get in the mood for a slow batch methinks... 7. May It Be - And what better way to start that slow batch with this. 8. Last Time by Moonlight - And then this. 9. Amarantine - Speeding things up slightly... 10. Someone Said Goodbye - Hmm I do think a better song could replace this, but I can't see it failing to make the cut at all. 11. Anywhere Is - The song that introduced me to Enya, and one of my all time faves! 12. Wild Child - Another great song. 13. **NEW TRACK** - Please!!! 14. Sumiregusa - Very obscure one this, but it showcases Enya's talents further with the Japanese singing. 15. Marble Halls - Shame Enya loves this one... 16. Fallen Embers - And this... 17. My! My! Time Flies! - This can't not be on the album. So different and if we don't get a new song I'd like this to be the 'lead single'. 18. Evening Falls - Should have been on the 1997 album, so it had better make this one! 19. Oiche Chiuin - I'll refrain from saying too much here. 20. Water Shows the Hidden Heart - The perfect way to close the album, and Loxian definately needs at the very least one inclusion on the album! I am quite bored btw, so don't judge me for taking so long and doing this! I'd be happy with a tracklisting like that overall I think, so we'll see how accurate I am in the coming weeks!
