Leona is going to get #1 for sure...Susan #1 the following week. I would really like to see a top 10 for Enya, but I don't know. The competition is fierce.

Release dates:

UK: November 23

US: November 24

Japan: November 25

I thought the US got a November 16 release....boo. :(

Edited by On Your Shore

I'm glad it's been pushed back a week myself. Better chance of a good chart position that way. ^_^

I wonder if the change to Nov. 24 had anything to do with the US? Nov. 24 is the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Any CDs released that Tuesday would have zero sales from physical stores on the holiday (although online sales still occur). However, "Black Friday" is one of the busiest shopping days of the year here in the US, with ridiculous sale prices and many stores now opening at 3-4am with bargains.

Any album released on Nov. 24 will be featured in the "New Releases" shelf in places like Best Buy, Target, Walmart, etc., which means maximum exposure on Black Friday. Also, stores usually offer lower CD prices as a Black Friday incentive (the Enya CD might be on sale for $9.99 since it is release-week, but on Black Friday they may drop the price to $7.99 for added value!).

I can safely say that the reasons I explained above are why Simon Cowell chose Nov. 24 as the release date for Susan Boyle's album (large sales are pretty much a given in the US, but now anyone who liked Susan Boyle but hadn't heard about the album will see it prominently displayed if they go shopping on Black Friday). So, this could help Enya too!

That could be good news for Enya then. ^_^ I hope she does some sort of TV appearances coming up to the release, and the promo is decent. Not that I'm pinning too much hope on Warner getting the word out there mind...

I can't see Warner doing much promotion for a very best of, sadly...they don't even promote an album with completely new material well. I'm hoping that I'm wrong, though. I forgot about Black Friday. That was total marketing strategy right there. I was just hoping for a 16th release because I hate waiting, but if it's going to help her sales, then I can sacrifice. :P If they do put it on sale, it will probably be the CD only version that they mark down. The deluxe version might get marked to, let's say 15.00 if we're lucky. That's a big if. Of course, I can't account for stores outside of K-mart, Walmart, Meijer, and Target in my area. I just pretty much remember how those usually operate with pricing.

Some more details about the tracks...

1.Orinoco Flow (Remastered 2009 version) (4:25)

7.Only Time (Original Version) (3:38)

8.Wild Child (3:47)

9.Water Shows The Hidden Heart (4:39)

10.Anywhere Is (Remastered 2009) (3:58)

11.Cursum Perficio (Remastered 2009) (4:06)

Watermark is 20 seconds longer according to this list. It's probably just a typo, but maybe not! May It Be isn't that long either usually is it?

Oh. :o Have I been listening to some sort of shorter version all this time then?! Mine's only like 3:30 or thereabouts!
Ooh... has the 4:16 version got a LOTR thing somewhere in it?

I hear it also has Enya-A Life In Music (that's the documentary), the making of Caribbean Blue, and the making of Only Time (don't hold me to this, but I think that's what I read...so it's basically some of the material from The Video Collection reappearing)

Lady GaGa and possibly Rihanna are now releasing albums on the 23rd too... I really hope Enya can make top ten, but I'm not too hopeful now! One thing's for sure, it's going to be a huge couple of weeks for album sales. :o

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to this awesome site, a bit of a refugee from another forum. I'm interested to hear this full version of Aniron, but all in all, this release is lazy, and nothing special. You would think that Enya & Co. would have pushed to make this special, create new songs, for a best of that's releasing 12 years after the first one. I know there's only been 3 albums since the last 'best of', but the albums in question are monumental in the way they've impacted Enya's repertoire.

I guess I'm used to being disappointed when it comes to Enya. I love her music, but professionals they are not.

Gee, TheSkeptic, just from the last little phrase from your post, I get the idea that you think you're more professional than Enya and Co.....I don't wish to sound rude or mean-spirited here, but, how can you justify such a comment of someone who knows, in my opinion, as to what they're doing, more that the average fan, such as myself, in the writing, recording, producing the music they have for more than 20 years?

Granted, it WOULD have been nice for at least one new song, but, since it was their choice as to what was to be included for this career retrospective, how can a new song, by rights of the reasoning for a career retrospective that Warner asked for, fit in, and not seem like a sore thumb sticking out amongst the 'classics' that have been chosen?

As to the video dvd, there are some of the later videos from Amarantine, and later, which is a nice addition, I think......as to what exactly will be included on the documentary footage, I, myself, can only hope that there'll be some updated materials......but, whatever will be will be for the documentary footage......

I'm not someone who has to nitpick every little detail for every song, question as to how/why a song was recorded the way it was, or why what was included/left out of an album. I'm just happy to have the music that HAS been offered by Enya and Co., and, if that makes me a mindless sheep, as some from other places would think, then, so be it......mind you, I find nothing wrong with asking questions as to how things are done in studio as to writing/recording/producing the music, but, to continually badger about it, or, say an artist is unprofessional in how they do things, that is something I take exception to.......

I hope my missive here hasn't put you off to this forum or site, TheSkeptic, as it is not my intent to do so, but, I'm just exercising my rights to my opinion here, just as you have in your post.......

I welcome your reply bigwig! The beauty of individuality is that we have license to be ourselves, no matter what anyone thinks. I was reading on another forum a post by a moderator who told us that we should just be grateful for the amount of material that Enya has released in the past few years as it's unprecedented for her to do so. I can understand that argument to a point, but that doesn't mean that she, like so many other artists can't go out of their way to make whatever they release special, as opposed going at it by the numbers. Enya's greatest flaw has been to give her presence over to Roma Ryan, a brilliant lyricist she is, but Enya needs a web page created and maintained by a firm of the highest of standards, and not the fellow they lean on presently.

In terms of this best of, yes, it's disappointing, as disappointing as realizing that the trio will continue to pull our chains about a live show without any intention of ever performing in the future. When AWC released, they talked about a live show more then they ever have. Professionally, Enya, Nicky & Roma are disappointing. Their music is unlike anyone before them, or probably after, I wish they would represent themselves in kind, and make any release dynamic and singular as opposed to run-of-the-mill and disappointing.

Perhaps this will be their last release for a while? To make time for their budding careers in neurosurgery...
