September 16, 200915 yr Oh dear! I really like Alesha Dixon but I don't like Gary Barlow writing stuff outside of Take That. I'm thinking particularly of the bloody awful John Barrowman 'What About Us' in particular ... a gigantic and well-deserved flop! He wrote a couple with Delta Goodrem that were good and one good Katherine Jenkins track. Perhaps he works better writing for women than blokes. Lets hope so! Norma
September 17, 200915 yr I'm excited, but petrified that it might get lost in the busy Christmas schedule!
September 17, 200915 yr Alesha Dixon's new single: it has every chance of being above average http://www.popjustice.com/images/stories/j/aleshadixongarybarlow.jpg As should have become clear over the last decade Alesha Dixon is amazing. This is solid gold pop fact. Anyway she was up a mountain recently and she bumped into Gary Barlow who also happened to be there, and Gary said, "how would you like to be pointed at in my recording studio?" and Alesha said, "oh alright then", and while she was in there being pointed at (PICTORIAL EVIDENCE ABOVE) she also just so happened to co-write a song with GB. The song is called 'To Love Again' (which sounds strong 'n' empowering for the ladies does it not), it's out as a single on November 15, it's being chucked onto a re-released version of 'The Alesha Show' (subtitled 'The Encore') which is out the following week, and it's potentially quite good but we haven't heard it yet so we'll report back in due course. THE END. 'The Alesha Show: The Encore', sounds good :D I like how people are using alternative to deluxe/platinum this year :D Edited September 17, 200915 yr by Theo Aloud
September 18, 200915 yr Not doing much for me either I have to admit. Perhaps full thing will be better.
September 18, 200915 yr On first listen you can tell its one of Gary Borelow's weaker tracks :( hope it will grow.
September 18, 200915 yr Is there a hook there at all? Might be a grower but she's lucky she has Strictly to keep her profile up as the song isn't strong enough IMO.
September 18, 200915 yr I knew it wouldn't be very good. Can't see this troubling the top 20 - or even the top 40. Its distinctly 'meh'. Mind you .... I did say a few posts back that I thought it would be. Norma
September 18, 200915 yr Oh dear. Its a very nice song, theres no denying that but simple just doesnt do anything does it.
September 18, 200915 yr well i love it :D definitely the best shes sounded  love the emotion too ^_^
September 18, 200915 yr Oh dear. Its a very nice song, theres no denying that but simple just doesnt do anything does it. I think you're being a bit too generous Aled! After a second listen I tend to agree with Jark ... its crap. I really think the only woman Gary should write for is Geraldine ... other than that he should just stick to writing songs with/for Take That. I think there are about four or five non-Take That songs in total that I've liked from him. The best I can say about this Alesha song is its better than the John Barrowman song ... but then again ... that isn't saying much is it? Norma
September 18, 200915 yr Eek. Start of with a energetic song Alesha! Just because "Breathe Slow" was a great success doesn't mean this will be. It could scrape the top 10, but songs released after this will suffer badly.
September 18, 200915 yr well i love it :D definitely the best shes sounded  love the emotion too ^_^ I agree, makes a change to hear a positive comment. Norma is chewing on garlic again...it's so not nice when you open your mouth afterwards.
September 18, 200915 yr Well it will obviously do well because she's going to perform on Stictly. I'd also like to add she looked absolutely stunning tonight judging Strictly, I think I prefer her to Cheryl Cole.
September 18, 200915 yr I agree, makes a change to hear a positive comment. Norma is chewing on garlic again...it's so not nice when you open your mouth afterwards. Oh tush tush! I wanted to like it ... I love Take That and think GB is a top bloke ... but this is like something he wrote at 4.45 on a Friday afternoon, looking at the clock wishing it was time for home! Norma
September 18, 200915 yr I surprisingly really like it, nothing amazing but I didn't really expect anything amazing. I think it will make top 10.
