Gary Neville stated before the game that if they didn't win this time there could be no excuses. If they have the best players, and lets be honest most England supporters believe they do, then why did they play so badly in every game. They had the easiest group, the worst 2nd round team to beat, and probably only Ukraine were worst than Portugal in the QF. Yet they couldn't score past them, even before Rooney went.

You can make excuses about the sending off, the ref, the weather, but at the end of the day if you have the best why did you struggle so much.

If I were an england fan, I would blame the manager and all the players and stop blaming everyone else.

I can't blame the players. For an hour they were the better side against Portugal with 10 men and every player gave there all against Portugal, however I can blame the manager, he's done nothing foe England apart from take £5 million away from the FA.

Hear Hear! You're absolutely right in all that - I was bored sh!tless by the first England match against Paraguay - I was sitting there thinking "Christ, supposedly one of the best teams in the competition and this is how they play....?", they even needed Paraguay to gift them a goal to get the win.... Trinidad and Tobago was just funny, For abouy 80 minutes the Trinidadians had the upper hand and almost caused an embarassement in the first half, and as for Sweden..... Dear oh dear, overall the poorest Sweden has ever performed in a World Cup that I can remember and they still only manage a draw against them...

I would perhaps argue that Sweden were the worst second round team, Germany just swatted them, not that Ecuador were really much better tbh....

Frankly, I would say, that pound for pound, the Aussies performed better than England overall, they sure showed a hell of a lot more balls and character - coming back from 1-0 down against Japan to beat them 3-1 and really fought against Croatia and Italy, it took a blatant Italian dive to put them out and they were very unlucky against Brazil IMO.... Good on yer Aussies....

Even more ridiculous is the paranoia put around that refs had it in for England.. Bollocks, just about every team in the ruddy competition was the victim of at least one incredibly bad reffing decision.. Look at the Holland/Portugal match, 20 yellow cards, 4 reds..... Jesus, it wasn't that dirty a match....

Well, I think you kinda can to some degree mate. Lampard and Gerrard (I mean, how many penalties have they both buried with no trouble at all...?) just didn't really show anything like we know that they're capable of for their club sides, ditto with Rooney and Owen, although Owen could perhaps be excused as he was blatantly not 100%... No way should Sven have taken a chance on him and now that he's injured for christ knows how long (if indeed he even comes back at all), that's Newcastle kinda buggered innit...? Good thing for Sven it wasnt Rooney who got injured, he'd've had a Fergie Fatwah issued on his ass....

Also, the players themselves kept saying "we know we have to improve, we're not playing well enough", well, it's all very good to say it lads..... Obviously it's mainly down to Sven as he was the one who made the tactical decisions, the one who picked more ruddy reserve goalies than strikers, the one who picked two strikers who weren't really 100% match fit; BUT, essentially, it is down to the 11 guys on the pitch to do the biz and face it, there were some players out there who are capable of great things who just didn't deliver for you....

I'm blaming the manager, he's fukking awful. But as usual, it's some dodgy ref's decision or a cheat that knocks us out <_<

The red card was justified. He would have got it even if Ronaldo didnt talk to the ref about it. He deserved it anyway, and the only fault in the losses of the penalties lies in the players themselves. NOT Ronaldo.

He wouldn't. The ref didn't see the "stamping", and then when Ronaldo came in to talk to the ref about Rooney, Rooney pushed him then he got sent off.

Rooney was in all likelihood gonna get a yellow for the stamp anyway mate, the push and the dissent he showed where he was just effing and blinding and just generally acting like a fukkin' spoiled brat is what got him the other yellow. Two yellows = one red... If he'd just walked away and shut the fukk up, he'd've still been on the park, albeit with a yellow card. His fault for being a bloody fool and rising to the bait.... I am really getting sick of the excuses being made for this guy. Sure Ronaldo's at fault as well, BUT, if Rooney was actually capable of controlling his aggressive tendencies, then Ronaldo wouldn't even have been able to get to him....

The boy needs to fukkin' grow up; either that or give up football, go into boxing and work off some of those aggression and anger issues he clearly has, or he's gonna end up a joke like Gazza....

End of story, now can we PLEASE stop arguing about this sh!te......?
