August 26, 200915 yr I don't think it's that gay really... Really? It so is! Reminds me of something like "Candyman", but without the whole retro thing. In terms of music I can't think of much more gay than a Pop song with a stomper of a chorus heavily featuring the lyrics "BAD BOYS", with a diva type singing it to boot. She might as well starting singing YMCA. I don't think Flo Rida featuring on it detracts from that as much as it perhaps should. I think it's growing, it's undeniably catchy and Alexandra comes across so nicely, I'd feel bad for disliking it. I definitely see the comments about it having Eurovision potential, or at least a market for Europe. It just sounds so European to me, I can almost imagine Alcazar or someone equally as trashy singing it. Not sure it'll go down well in the USA, I think it's slightly too Pop for them and Flo Rida isn't that big a name as a featuring artist to break her.
August 26, 200915 yr Alexandra will only stand a chance of US success if they actually give her any sort of push there.
August 26, 200915 yr Author Really? It so is! Reminds me of something like "Candyman", but without the whole retro thing. She might as well starting singing YMCA. How odd, I couldn't disagree more! I think the melody of the chorus is something that would allow straight guys aplenty to have the song on their phones or whatever and fool around about how they're the 'bad boys all the girls want', a bit like how 'About You Now' broke across the straight guy barrier because even though it was gay-friendly electropop and had such a strong melody.
August 26, 200915 yr Womanizer is easily the most overrated comeback single of the past year (and beyond). It really is CRAP. Repeating a segment of a word OVER and OVER does not and never will equal a HOOK. Never mind the fact that it's a total rehash of a song from Blackout! You may not like the lyrics but the production for Womanizer is completely STUNNING. Don't care what anyone says, it really doesn't have anything about it being Britney Spears (I know that may be hard for some people to believe). But I can understand people getting tired of the repetitive chorus. But either way AMAZING SONG IMO. WtbVcVRaatU ANYWAYZ. This song is alright, doesn't remind me ANYTHING of Womanizer or Biology like popjustice implied... which ultimately is a let down as both songs are far superior to this. I can admit when a Britney song is bad, so please don't feed me this "Britney loon" $h!t, it isn't the case at all. Just wanted to throw that out there before people throw my opinion out like it isn't any good, which happens alot in this forum when Britney is brought up. PS- It obviously did equal a hook because it's the biggest hit of her career on a worldwide scale. Edited August 26, 200915 yr by Tyler
August 26, 200915 yr wow i'm loving this! it just gets better with every listen. and i'm so gonna overplay this bad boy! (no pun intended)
August 26, 200915 yr I don't get why people are suddenly talking about a big "hype" for this song. I remember people saying like one week ago stuff like "oh there's no hype at all for this song, noone cares it's gonna flop big time". And now that it got a Radio 1 premiere, people are suddenly saying this song is surrounded by an exagerated hype... It was always going to be hyped anyway, she won the #1 TV show following the steps of Leona. I do think the hype is quite sane at the moment considering her background.
August 26, 200915 yr There was undoubtedly hype in the few days leading up to the premier though. From The Sun pics to popjustice reviews. Song is nothing unique or special, i like it for what it is. If I didnt know it was Alex I really wouldn't have a clue who it is though tbh. Certainly no Womanizer or Biology. More BS from PJ.

Leon never had this hype and i think he was as talented, he just didnt have the support that Alex or Leona had.
August 26, 200915 yr Not true exactly. Leon never had this hype and i think he was as talented, he just didnt have the support that Alex or Leona had. As much as I liked Leon on the show, his first single was utterly bad and unoriginal though.
August 26, 200915 yr I liked it, i went to his tour that he did with Same Difference and met all three. Genuinely nice people, especially Sean from SD :)
August 26, 200915 yr That still went ahead? After both getting dropped? Well good for them :D I really disagree with the verses are nothing talk. The verses are the best bit for me - the last line of each verse (I know I'm playing with fire but I don't mind) are easily the best bit of the song IMO!

Same Difference also did their own gig in Plymouth and paid for the lot - set, lights, dancers, venue, everything!
August 26, 200915 yr Is there CDQ of the Floless version out there? Got the other. It gets better on every listen. Chorus is fabulous
