so roy orbisons 60's standard eventually gets to the top spot, displacing sandie shaw. the kinks, rockin berries and wayne fontana with his mindbenders were big climbers with 3 great tracks.

this weeks new entries 45 years agooooo

34 - I'm Gonna Be Strong GENE PITNEY .... possibly his best? a lamentful track that builds up to a typically 60's ott big production ending... good stuff! :)

41 - Downtown PETULA CLARK .... another 60's standard, found on most 60's compilations, pet clarkes best known hit, but tbh it was far from her best, but goooooodd stuff all the same :)

42 - The Door Is Still Open To My Heart DEAN MARTIN ..... dunno this

49 - Good Morning Little Schoolgirl YARDBIRDS .... the yardies first chart hit with this rather dodgily titled r&b classic. i bet this is one track that will NEVER get re-released in this form! lol

50 - Here Comes The Night LULU ... lulus cover of 'them's hit... poor tbh.

1964, during their first promotional visit to the UK, The Beach Boys appeared live on ITV's 'Ready Steady Go!'

personally i never cared for the 'surf sound' era of the beach boys...
