Here's an interesting clipping from UK industry paper "Music Week" which publishes all the official UK charts.

Madonna's new single "Celebration" has reached number 1 this week in both the UK Upfront Club Chart and the UK Commercial Club Chart. There's also a commentary about this achievement on the same page

the only number one she's gonna get with that rubbish!

Haha, as much as it pains me to say that that might be true. Very weak single - maybe the video will give the track a bit more appeal

I thought it was doing quite well, shooting up the airplay chart with no promo video etc. and I really like it - shame you two hate it. Let's see how she does when it is finally released. I'm hoping for her 14th UK number 1 though B)
Well, in that Upfront Club chart 'Falling' (Agent X feat. Mutya Buena & Ultra) was #1 so I don't think this is VERY relevant... :heehee:

I'm a big Madge fan Smirnoff - no doubt I will buy it when it's released, however I think it's only a 5 out of 10 track - The Benny Benassi mix is quite good though

What? The Benny Benassi remix is what killed this song. OK, it's far from a masterpiece but the official single version is really cool and catchy. I think it has a shot at number one with a bit of luck (but not for longer than one week though).

There are mixed views on the BB remix. Some fans love it (and prefer it to the original) and some hate it. Initially i didn't like it at all but it grew on me. There is a 50/50 chance of BB remix to be used for the video. Apparently Madge found it difficult to choose which one but made up her mind in the end. I still prefer the original version though.

I think that Madonna should have released the Benny Benassi Mix as the single its harder than the good/average but predictable current version. The Benny Benassi Remix has more of an edge she should mix it up for the video version.
Its #9 on the Airplay chart and #3 on the Pre-Release chart total audience of 31.11, the #1 track on Pre-Release chart is Pixie total audience of 49.58 for her new single, I think Madonna stands a good chance at the #1 position, I love the original version of it.

Shouldn't this be moved into the single thread in the Madonna forum?

My original post was chart related but then turned into something else

Well yes, but it should still be in the Madonna forum if it's something to do with Madonna.

Im not a huge Madonna fan but i must say i really like celebration and its her best single since hung up. It has charted in Ireland for the last 3 weeks so i was expecting it to chart low in the UK and do a nice steady climb but its looking like it will simply just enter very high now.
