September 11, 200915 yr There's no way this is going #1 in the U.S. before the radio adds date (09.22). For it to hit the top spot, it'll have to sell an immense amount of downloads as it's not being repressed. I don't have high hopes about it's success in the U.S. which is a shame. I hope I'm wrong, but I feel like she needed a strong uptempo to come back hard.
September 11, 200915 yr Ryan Seacrest loves the track so he's going to be playing it a lot and a lot of people especially teenagers listen to his breakfast show. I think it will get loads of radio airplay in the States. Edited September 11, 200915 yr by Callum24
September 11, 200915 yr Ryan Seacrest loves the track so he's going to be playing it a lot and a lot of people especially teenagers listen to his breakfast show. I think it will get loads of radio airplay in the States. Fingers crossed!
September 11, 200915 yr It will be a slow riser on airplay just like Bleeding Love, Halo, Battlefield and now Already Gone. These types of songs aren't instant and so don't shoot up straight away.
September 11, 200915 yr I don't know... It's certainly no Bleeding Love by a good 20 country miles. It does show her voice to be emotive but really there's none of the huge notes that made me love her, it's not particularly catchy, just not feeling it at all. :( It'll be huge in the UK based on name alone but won't go down as one of her better singles I don't think. I thought it would just take a while to grow, but i've forced myself to listen to it constantly for the past few days and still nothing. :( I felt the exact same way as you as youre feeling 2 days ago,but it really does grow on you. I love it now.
September 11, 200915 yr I still can't get my head round how slowly things can 'cook' for on the US charts, and yet still continue to climb the charts....! I mean, after a few weeks in the UK, most folks have had enough of hearing Record X and have started to get into Record Y, and as such, Record X starts to fall by the wayside pretty damn quickly. In the US, a record can last MONTHS before it finally starts to fall - just like BL did... All the stateside forum regs were saying (about BL).... things like... "give it time yet as it's only been a couple of months on the stations playlists...it'll do well, believe me!" I was very sceptical to say the least...but it was true as we all now know!! I've already started reading reviews on YT from peeps who initially said that Happy was a 'poor first record off her new album', or that it was 'boring' or that 'they expected more...' but have now turned round and said that after hearing it a few times now that they LOVE IT.... Myself, I thought on the first hearing that it was vocally stupendous from Leona and that the song was 'good'... I've now revised that a bit and think it's still stupendous vocals from LL but the song's hook has got into me and I can't get it out of my head now! After hitting the radio playlists and is constantly on in peoples cars on the way to and from work, I'm sure that will be repeated thousands of times...... Hopefully then, another massive worldwide hit for Leona that will REALLY cement her position as a global star.....
September 13, 200915 yr Leona Lewis will be performing on America's Got Talent tomorrow! She will most likely be performing 'Happy' :w00t: Strong rumour that Leona will be performing Happy on the final performance show of America's Got Talent which airs tomorrow night in the US.@leonalewisnews twitter Here's the source. Remember there are two shows this week - the final performances on Monday and the results on Wednesday @leonalewisnews twitter I hope it's true! :w00t:

September 15, 200915 yr Doing great initially on iTunes which is very encouraging. People are clearly liking it. :) It will get the song off to a good start but after AGT and Divas it will likely fall until airplay builds up.

Hopefully it can remain consistent while airplay builds.
