I've seen her mime one performance, she looked really uncomfortable doing it. You can tell she doesn't like miming.

It was a good performance, but it was definitely not Leona at her best, by a long shot. She was late at the start, her voice nearly cracked at one stage, and there were some flat notes, however she was still ten times better than any of the contestants this year.

 

Although I think the song deserves to be number 1, it looks like she's going to struggle. It's going to be tight between her, JLS and the BEP. The Peas have climbed much faster in the last few hours than Leona, and they're right on her tail now according to the iTunes pop bars, so she may end up at number 3, which would be a huge disappointment.

I KNEW there would be a struggle, everyone was acting like she was shoe-in for #1, but I just didn't buy it. Face it people, "Happy" is not a great commercial lead single. I really like the track, but it just doesn't stand out. She may end up with the #1 next week, but realistically, she hasn't shot to the top spot as many predicted - even after her X-Factor performance.

I'm still so disappointed this was released as the lead single, whether it ends up at #1 or not. I don't think it will be remembered well at all.

i see its FINALLY #1 on the itunes chart!!! Friggin hell....i thought it would have reached it so much sooner!!! REALLY hope it can reach number one in the official chart this week but I have a feeling she might just be pipped to the post later in the week :(

I bought another copy on Amazon there now, so i have contributed 2 sales for Leona this week :lol:

 

Just watched the x factor performance again, I still thought it was really good!! In no way did she mime BUT the backing vocals were WAY too loud in the chorus to the point u could barely hear Leona singing at points!!!!! But i guess they were going for a big "ooomph" of sound during the chorus, if u get my meaning lol :)

Ooh dear. Going to be a bit embarrasing losing out to the third single from an album :( I hope she manages to stay ahead though.

Glad to see she's made #1 on iTunes, hopefully she can stick there, I love Happy and I can't wait until next Monday when I'l finally have Echo on my CD player :wub:

I'm not surprised radio isnt touching it in the US. She will struggle to sell this second album there atm! :o

No she wasn't. :huh: There was a backing track for the chorus which she sung over. She's really not the first person to ever do that.

Just back from POG. Wow. That was incredible.

 

To hear her voice so raw and powerful in the studio with just 200 people. Incredible.

She was lovely in the interview :) She's seems to be getting more comfortable with interviewing and such now.

 

Performance was amazing aswell!

I really hope this will generate a good few more sales for her!!! Does she have anymore promo scheduled for this week? Really hope she can fend off the BEP :(

It's a pretty average track, I'd much rather see Meet Me Halfway at #1 though. However, I watched Paul O Grady today and interview wise she came across better than what she normally does.

:huh: Which bits then? She's been singing over a backing track for the chorus throughout all her worldwide promo, as she did for BL and BIT. It's used to give the chorus more impact like it has in the studio version but she 100% sings over it. It's pretty obvious if you follow her as closely as I do.
