Posted August 31, 200915 yr The Circus DVD is due out 2nd November. Was just wondering how many weeks it'll be at number 1 in the DVD music chart. The Beautiful World Tour DVD was number 1 for 10 weeks and spent a shed load of other weeks in the chart itself. Given that The Circus Tour was even better (and even I wouldn't have believed that they could improve further) than the BW Tour one might expect it to spend more weeks at the top of that chart. However, as it is being released in the run up to Christmas - they may not outdo it. I'm certain it'll sell more copies - but not sure how long it'll stay at the top of the music DVD chart. Either way .... really looking forward to this. Also - Take That and other artists will be on a show from The Royal Albert Hall sometime in October - to be televised by the BBC as it is to kick-start the Children In Need appeal. The show is being organised by Gary Barlow - so I'm hoping we're going to have artists as diverse as Beverley Knight and Coldplay on the bill. I've an awful feeling (due to their newly rediscovered 'friendship) that Gary may even ask Rob to take part in it. I hope I'm wrong as I'd lose a bit of respect for Gary if he did. Norma PS - not worth a thread on its own as I didn't even bother putting a thread in here when it was announced. Take That came 2nd in an mtv greatest superstar poll. We all knew that Rob would come first so it really wasn't worth bothering about. I'm surprised TT came as high as they did - I didn't even vote (I don't like registering on things that want heaps of info before you're allowed to vote). Still - its a bit of a laugh when either Rob or Take That came ahead of the likes of Michael Jackson or Elvis Presley! August 31, 200915 yr Im so looking forward to this dvd, although i dont think it will stay number 1 as long as the others simply because its first week sales will be higher, i can this being their best selling dvd, as there genuinly is so much hype around the dvd. The dvd selling well may well boost album sales for them aswell,somehow i dont think they will go with a new version or deluxe version of the album as we would have rumours by now, without i think the album should just about sell 2 million as at the moment i think it is very near 1.9 million, but this week it drops to number 53 in the Uk album chart.
August 31, 200915 yr I think you are right about the first week sales. I think that they will be very high. I think the BW DVD sold over 60,000 the first week which was higher that the number one album the same week. Am sure that the new one will sell loads more.
August 31, 200915 yr I would love to know the top 5 biggest selling music dvds of all time in the UK just to see how take that compare. Wow that is great that the dvd sold more than the number 1 album of that week, im sure that hasnt happened to often.

You're right about there being no de-luxe Circus album - we would have heard something and to be honest ... there really is no point with the DVD release being so close. Somehow though, I doubt the album will reach 2 million before end of year. If it does reach 2 million - it will be nearer next spring time. Norma
September 1, 200915 yr It has about 4 months to see sell 100,000, if the album gets a reduced price it will sell more, its needs to be part of a good sale offer to boost sales, but i think they will be crazy not to go with a deluxe as a deluxe version will boost it by anout 300,000 i reckin.

Apart from some live songs ... there is nothing new that they can add to a Deluxe edition. The short dvd for inclusion on the deluxe BW was worth it - in that it had all the single videos and the short 'interviewer-less interview' (i.e. funny ramblings from the guys). However it is so close to the DVD release itself of the concert tour - I see no point in going to the expense of one to go on a de-luxe Circus album - the only thing for inclusion I can see is the videos - only four if you include the horrible one for The Garden. Besides ... most people will have got what they want via the iTunes Circus Pass and podcasts that have already been available. I'd rather they just leave this one now and start getting their stuff ready for the next album. Although I like some of the quirkiness that was on The Circus ... I'd like some more stuff similar to BW. Norma

If they do a deluxe i can see it including the video;s, the making of the video;s some live songs and the b sides from the singles. What makes me think the deluxe will happen is more from the record company than the boys, as any album that does well gets a deluxe release these and some do very well(as take that have prviously also done) so thats what makes me think it will happen. THe Circus is on a par with beautiful world sales wise excluding the deluxe and length of time released and if anything i think the circus may have sold slightly more in its first 39 weeks than beautiful world. It could end up being one of the biggest selling music DVD's ever (I mean of a concert - not music films in general) And if we could find the figures - I bet we'd find that Take That's three tour DVD's would be in any top 10 selling list. Well I'm going to do something I've never done before .... buy one of their products for someone else! I always usually hate it when fans of artists buy a copy of that artists product for a Christmas present for someone else! Do you know what I mean? If I want someone else to sample Take That or another artist I like I'll lend them my dvd. This time though ... I'm going to buy my mum The Circus DVD. I know if she'd been younger ... she'd have loved the concert (and she did love The Ultimate Tour - especially the Tango version of It Only Takes A Minute) so I think she'll like it. Plus ... I'm always in a pickle to buy something for my mum ... she has everything she wants already. Norma
September 1, 200915 yr I only buy Take That products for other people only if i knw they will genuinly like them,so if i knew someone was a take that fan i would buy it bu tif i knew they weent i wouldnt force a present like that on them. I know my mum fr example would not be happy with a take that dvd as a pressie but my girlfriend would,so it depends for me really.

Where do we find out the new release scheleule for dvd;s does anyone know, not that i think anyone will stop take that going to number 1 on release i would just ike to see the competition!

The videos on youtube are quite bad filmed, i cannot get the picture what is going on :lol: . I know that half of the music on the tour is not what i like to listen, but i think the rest would make it for it :w00t:

September 22, 200915 yr Author The DVD isn't due out now until 23rd November ... I've just ordered it from Play.Com. I was reading today that it is expected to become the biggest selling music dvd ever in the UK ... and the only record they have to beat is their own as they already hold the record with the Beautiful World Tour. I'm suspecting that the Ultimate Tour is next too. So come release ... they'll hold 1st, 2nd and 3rd! Norma
