"I don't think he'd ever be happy with songwriting/ producing or screen acting."

Perhaps he was really trying to withdraw from live work and that's why we saw nothing of him in 2009.

It's a real shame :( Hope D is holding up ok.

One thing I can't understand in the report is the nonsense that "Darius is spending a lot of time in the UK", because he just hasn't for the last year and a half! He's certainly been over, but not for sustained periods of time.

D's mum made contact with Pat last Monday I believe, and asked her to rally the old guard(for want of a better expression) to vote for him. I'm guessing they have split recently, though it may have been on the cards for some time :(

Poor Pat. Rallying the old guard was an impossible task. There was no mechanism left to do it except friend by friend contact. at least he now has an official website again.

Thank goodness D now appears to be warming to the use of social networking.

I'm guessing that the sudden rise in "following" on his twitter has something to do with his brothers being there yesterday. It was 1 (poptoopera) before then.

The calling off of the engagement has made the news on digital spy.

Hello everyone ... long time no chat on here ...

I am sorry to hear of D's relationship split If things aren't right its probably for the best. I only want him to be happy Maybe now we might get to hear some of the songs he has been writing.

I was totally gobsmacked to hear from Avril this week. I could only do what was possible in the circumstances by connecting with those from Dariusland with whom I am still in contact. Easy when they are close family or close by - I hope that those who can make onward contact will do so.

So many names float through my mind from the early days ... BecksB the girl who won best square on the BQT Whinshill (Girl in the Trench) BrysBopBopBaby who loved D but loved Bryan McFadden more, Vic-Tree who were with our lot the night I first met Darius at Cardiff, Vicky and Teresa who both got put on final warning before the sack at work for posting on the forum during office hours. The antics of the Dive In Tour, the Easter Candle, the birthday gifts and the fun of travelling to gigs. I am eternally grateful to D because through him I met the daughter I didnt know I had in Sweden; Malin (Musicmad2) Bjork who came to live with us after we came to know her via dot com. Two and a half years living with us or near us, perfecting her English and now returned to Sweden, yesterday I bought her birthday present. My lovely Malin, I shall never lose touch with her now Likewise with Sharon Montgomery in Glasgow. Still in touch via text almost every day .... All this came about for the love of one young talented handsome man, Darius Danesh (we never knew he was Campbell Danesh, he never told us)

I wonder where they all went. Id love to know if the old website exists just for old time's sake.

I am most heartened by the Opera Fans who are congratulating Darius on his efforts and who are tipping him to win. I have thanked them for their support on D's behalf. It made my heart soar to read those comments.

There is only one downside that I have found about current developments There are Darius fans who were able to get information about getting tickets quite early and have kept this information to themselves. Offend or please I don't care if I do because you know who you are, it is very selfish to do that when the whole point of being a fan is to support your artiste by going to their gigs buying their recordings or as with this situation encouraging him to win. Every time all those screaming girls for Danny Jones start getting vocal at the studios I could spit that there could have been far more there for Darius. I mentioned this aspect of selfishness to Avril and she didnt care for it either. No matter what you think of me now, or from earlier years, I have never, ever concealed information that came to me which could help people to see/meet or do something that involved Darius. It was my delight to take people who had never met him to see him - it just brought back memories of my first meeting and I know I have spent more of "my time with Darius" getting stuff signed for other people or taking pictures for others than savouring it for myself I never had the luxury of being able to spend acres of time outside theatres so every meeting was precious.

Anyway, I have no opportunity to go to the competition now until the final so please God he is still in it and a similar prayer for a few tickets to be able to go with Abs. Heidi from Denbigh suggested a message book for him so she is doing that Email HeidiRidder69@hotmail.com if you want to contribute or email her for her snail mail address if you want to put a card into the collection. Heidi is the best one for this having done it before with the Dive In Tour album in 2003 which we gave to the family in Glasgow. I just wish the BQT was available .... one day that story will be concluded.

Thats me done ...

All the best

Pat

seems long ago,

dont know about tickets, no one had early knowledge, in fact everyone was rather niffed there wasnt any prior notification about tickets for the show anywhere. as far as I know the site for obtaining tickets was posted on the poptoop facebook site by someone in the links section soon after the site was put up, so the info was ther for anyone to read. I know the first I knew of how to get them was from posts on that site giving the addy,. I actually posted it in the comments section on the popooperatar site for one fan asking about tickets, as I had seen it in the links section. No one had secret prior knowlege? Strangely my husband is registered on that ticket site, and gets regular emails asking if he wants tickets to all sorts of shows!! not a one mentioning Popstartooperastar ever though, very odd

I think we were all taken by suprise by the news D was on the show, after his hints of good news in January(sadly an d ironically I thought it could be wedding news)

not that i want to go, cant say screaming mcfly fans and queues are for me.

And I am lifted by the geniunely unbiased positive views of Darius' voice by people who are involved in or teach classical singing. lovely to read all those comments

Not sure who you think may have been holding out with info re tickets etc Pat, but think you may be a little off base with that. PM me if you don't wish to post here, but please let me know. I'm sure you know who I am, but just in case, I am the fatbloke that broke your bed after the Night Under The Stars aftershow party in 2005 :D

NO ONE had any early knowledge about tickets. I heard the same time as everyone else when it was posted on here on 2 January. As soon as I heard, I applied for tickets, not even sure Darius was definitely on the show. Trish, you could have done the same and would probably have got priority seats unlike myself who is regarded as local, which means getting tickets doesn't automatically mean getting in. If you read some of the earlier posts you'd know that those coming from a distance get priority and are guaranteed a seat but if you live in or near London you have to wait until last - effectively third class citizens.

We stood waiting for three hours in the freezing cold yesterday and only just got in. Right up until fifteen minutes before the show, we didn't think we would. We were given the last seats and couldn't see half the pop stars sing because we were right at the side and scenery was in the way.

There was a link to this forum from .net and everybody is always welcome.

To my knowledge from the forum's birth, members have shared all the tiny grains of information as soon as they heard anything. We have often bemoaned how late any info re Darius and events would come to light and blamed his management for it.

When he sang at the Big Sing we would have known nothing of it if a sharp eyed fan hadn't spotted an article in a Coventry newspaper saying that a local (choir) was singing there alongside Katherine Jenkins and Darius Danesh.

He's back, he has new management. there's a new official site. The UK public can see he's alive and still very very talented. So let's see what happens and approach it in friendship as a Darius community.

yes, as usual we seemed to be the last to know of things, I do hope that with new management and sites - things will change, that is if he does anything! especially now he is on twitter, he could keep people informed....

hubby still cant beleive that while he was getting emails regarding Paul Ogrady, and all sorts of shows asking if he wanted to be in the audience, he never got anything that even mentioned PSTOPS? still hasnt. he was totally suprised when I said the name of the ticket site when I found out seeing he had been registered for a good long time with them.

Hello Pat....very good of you to post.

We have all had some wonderful Darius meetings and hope there will be many more to come.

As you must be aware we have tried very hard to keep this forum open and keep all Darius fans updated with any news.

So if anyone has any news, not already posted, please post it or pm one of the usual posters to post it.....Thank you

hi everyone just to let you all know that some Sunday papers have alredy print about the split between Darius and Natasha, but I have to say I do not agree with some of the headlines written about it.

my god Darius is going through enough just now let alone have headlines saying he has been dumped or Ditched by Natasha.

why can these repoters have some common manners and leave well alone. God it makes me mad.

ok a my rant is over lol

here is a link to one of them if anyone wants to read it

was expecting that, wont read, it is breaking my heart - I am hoping this is water under the bridge for him as we havent seen them together for some while, NH joined twitter in september she is following Darius list one of only 3, Darius isnt following her..plus in Sept she was in Canada filming, and in his message at xmas he did say lets hope this is a better year for US all.

he is young and tbh, he needs a good woman to be his equal, a partner, to support him, be there for him and to have his babies...sighs

perhaps I am old fashioned, but it was impossible to imagine them both wanting careers and being free to travel to do do, spending months apart and be married. Perhaps I am old fashioned but there we go. I think there lies the problem with a lot of show biz relationships. in amarraige there is always someone who does the sacrificing, usually the woman and if not it is hard to stay a couple

Edited by prettyinpink

I think we all knew who was mainly doing the sacrificing in that relationship to try to make it work.

I'm so glad they are apparently still friends.

Of course the UK press who dislike Darius will put the boot in while he's down. That's their style.

:( So sorry to hear this latest piece of news.

Long distance relationships are so hard to sustain - been there, tried that. Not that Belfast to Edinburgh is that far!!! But at 18 it was a world and too many expensive flights away! Anyway...

Whatever has happened between Darius & Natasha, I wish them BOTH the privacy to sort things out. Lord knows it's tough enough to cope without press intrusion.

This is a hard day for me as it's 10 years since my mum died (sudden onset rapid-growing brain tumour) and I've been watching the Live Twice video as it has always summed up things for me. Only Darius has ever managed to do that in song - both Live Twice & Journey's End. The attention seeking fans scene really got to me this morning, and I can't help but feel guilty about all the times I've been there with pen & programme under Darius' nose as a fan without (obviously) knowing what issues there have been in his life. He's always so patient & pleasant.

I hope 2010 IS a better year for him....and all of us too.

I agree with you Sharon I was in a simlar situation with my ex, even tho we were both from Glasgow, he had a job over in Belfast and for the first two month, he was going back and forward at the weekends. I would have done the same to see him but I cannot afford the flights. but things worked out he got a job back home in Glasgow which help us both a lot and we had a great year together. yeah anyway

I agree with you too let hope 2010 is Darius's year for success and happniess and also to everyone on here too

Nothing more than we expected, and it could have been worse. I hope he doesn't read them and stays strong. At least one of them says he's doing well in the UK. He deserves the best and I hope 2010 brings him happiness in what ever form.

Sue

I don't know anything about tickets, but I do know that I'm very grateful for all the news that we get on this site. Especially through the quiet times it's been great to come on here and talk to other people who still support Darius. Sue
