The presenter mentioned Vanessa from the Saturdays and Danny from McFly, which makes sense because T4 is a teen programme, isn't it? I'm not sure if it was Katherine or the presenter who first spoke about Alex from Blur. Katherine said he wasn't known as a singer but he was very into classical music and was very enthusiastic. I don't recall any of the other five being named.

Only a few days to go. If I can, I'll post on Thursday to say how we got on. Well, maybe Spam can as I see to my Mum.

I thought Friday was to be a live show. Is Thursday a rehearsal day for lights, sound, cameras etc.?

Friday will be live. Thursday is a pilot show that wont be. I think we were all too late to get the Friday one.

I hope you get a chance to speak to Darius at some point. One thing is for sure, he'll recognise you all. GWTW was a very up close show.

 

Actually, the set was so well designed, no seat in that auditorium seemed far away..

Brilliant views. I wont be able to hang around after the show so doubt I'll see him.

A well-known half Iranian, half Scottish singer changed his surname in Britain from Danesh to Campbell, much to the displeasure of his dad. Campbell is the maiden name of Dariusí mother, Avril. Dariusí retired doctor dad, Booth, 67, released a statement to The Sun from the family home in Glasgow.

mm, I do wonder about this name change thing, as some people take every opportunity to make an issue about of things...its not like switching from smith to jones is it now.

Jones is a nice name. I just feel it's up to him. He has to live with his name so has to be happy with it. I like Danesh but have nothing against Campbell. I hope it doesn't cause trouble for him.

For years he was just Darius but no-one was ever left in any doubt that he was not only Scottish but also half-Persian. It's really no big deal at all. I'm sure it won't change the pride he feels in both cultures.

 

You know, I think the name change has given those who normally spew out dross about him at the mention of the word Darius, something else to talk about since the details of the show were announced..
