Long distance relationships are so hard to sustain - been there, tried that. Not that Belfast to Edinburgh is that far!!! But at 18 it was a world and too many expensive flights away! Anyway...

 

Whatever has happened between Darius & Natasha, I wish them BOTH the privacy to sort things out. Lord knows it's tough enough to cope without press intrusion.

 

I hope 2010 IS a better year for him....and all of us too.

This is a hard day for me as it's 10 years since my mum died (sudden onset rapid-growing brain tumour) and I've been watching the Live Twice video as it has always summed up things for me. Only Darius has ever managed to do that in song - both Live Twice & Journey's End.

His songs have helped so many of us.

This was the first we knew about tickets thanks as always to Delphi.

I applied and as yet haven't received any. I went on someone elses spare ticket.

Popstar to Operastar starts on Friday 15th January ITV1 9pm and if anyone would like to apply for tickets to see the show live in the studio they are available from SRO audiences.

 

As the Sun article states Darius will be known as Darius Campbell from now on - as some of you already know his full surname is Campbell-Danesh but the article doesn't mention that.

 

There is also a new official website coming soon.

 

I'm not sure B.P but I think that might be a new photo of Darius as I know they've done a new photoshoot recently.

 

I'm dreading the celeb mags this week. This is one time I'd rather they'd say nothing about Darius.

Darius has just tweeted that he's at Tom Baker's in Soho having a new suit made for the show.

 

I can't imagine what he'd be singing wearing one of these.

The beauty of having this site is that as soon as any of us know anything - it gets posted here. I think most of the old crowd from .net and .com know the forum is here. If they don't read it, there's nothing we can do about that.

he was speaking about wanting to bring his children up in Scotland today on This Morning, perhaps he is OK with it all?

I know I was in tears New Years due to daughter dumping her longterm byfriend, due to her uni comitments and wanting more freedom, I had grown very attached to him, but they are still friends and in contact, so everyone has to work these things out for themselves in the end.

 

and yes, this forum is open to all to look for news, thank god for that, I find so much I wouldnt know about otherwise, if you are interested in Darius you look dont you. There has been no other place for exchanging news for a quite a while

 

This forum has always tried to respect the views of the people who post here. I'd hate it to turn into a partisan place with hate campaigns and bullying. After all the time it's been going, I really hope it doesn't end up as previous forums have with abuse being thrown at members who don't agree with other members.

The Campbell -Danesh front door must be a revolving one - one son just back from the US and another one about to go there!

 

I wonder whereabouts in America Aria's going. Sounds exciting anyway.

He looked thrilled to be going.

On twitter there are quite a few tweets suggesting that Holland is going to pick up the format.

 

I'll bet there are plenty of pop singers here and around the world who've seen it and thought I'd love to have a go at that.

 

It needs at least one respected opera singer with bags of personality. Rolando is a real gift. Good for ITV seizing the tiniest opportunity to get the show off the ground and choosing a good mix of singers - ages, experience - with no sides to them and a will to work.

 

And of course any good singing franchise needs the one and only Darius. Popstars launched the public's obsession with seeing behind the scenes of auditions. Pop Idol launched into the stratosphere and every other one since has been a twist on those.

 

To bring 90 minutes of operatic performances to the masses is a major leap again.

And completely nerve wracking. I wouldn't miss it if I could help it.
