It's pretty much as I heard it too. They all made mistakes - including Darius, but they only have a week to work on it and are not trained opera singers. Kym was by far the weakest. I think a lot of people don't vote for Marcella because she seems to strain so much. Great singer though. I saw Sarah Brightman in Phantom and ended up on pins watching her physically straining to sing the part. Voice is fine but the struggle distracted me from the show.

KJ didn't drown Kym out when she sang with her, I'd hope she could do the same for whoever she sings with in the final.

I pretty much agree with that report also. At least she realised how difficult Darius' aria was to learn compared to others.

Everything always seems to go against him, doesn't it. Bernie is miles ahead of Darius in the betting this week.

Bookies odds, judges, ratings - irrelevant - nothing counts other than votes cast within the time the lines are open.

 

Friday's show had 4.4 million viewers - that's up by 600,000 plus and more than the first show.

I shall be glad when its all over, all I ask is Darius gives one hell of a perfromance, then win or come second no shame in that - I will be voting like mad again though. thank god this is the last week, my nerves wont take any more.

I am worried already about how they can stitch him up again, tenor, french..bad vt, going over bad comments, they seem so determined fo Bernie to win

I know, nor the french being not good, the opera people notice and comment on the judges ignoring some and pulling others up on small things.., shame they dont seem to want to vote, one said she would vote for Darius if she voted at all, especially when she felt he had been shafted..but they arent voters, a shame as he needs all that rate him to vote really

Exactly. I feel sorry for D. He has had to entail a lot through the last 8 years.

Rolando and KJ say that he gives a good performance, so they will want to try to remove that opportunity. Is there an aria where he just has to stand still, possibly in french? Do you reckon the format of the show will be Darius then Bernie, then Darius and KJ, leaving the grand finale to Bernie and Rolando? Bet it is. Sue

It's nice that we all share such optimism.

I agree with what Sue says and to that end one must surely look to the producer of this show.

Mind you. for 'Nessun Dorma' he just stood still. He had a tenor aria to contend with and he still did brilliantly. I really like his version but understand it caused him great problems and he really struggled. I think that's what started him really worrying.

DARIUS Campbell last night thanked Popstar to Opera Star's costume designer - for sewing up his FLIES.

It comes after the singer performed on the show with his trouser zip down, exposing his undies.

 

The gaffe two weeks ago failed to stop him winning through to the final last week when Corrie babe Kym Marsh and former chart-topper Marcella Detroit got the chop.

 

Ex-Popstars and Pop Idol wannabe Darius - who once accidentally exposed himself while wearing a kilt - was left a laughing stock by his zip bungle.

 

 

 

Down ... but Daz's fella not out in showThe 29-year-old was so paranoid about it happening again he ordered the ITV show's wardrobe crew to sew up ALL the flies on his trousers.

 

He said: "I thought Meat Loaf was playing a joke on me when he said it in front of millions of viewers. But as soon as I reached down, I realised I hadn't done my flies up.

 

"It was a nightmare and I couldn't believe I had done it on national TV!

 

"About 20 minutes before I sang I realised my trousers were tight and tried them on without boxers. But I put them back on, thank goodness."

 

Scot Darius will face Bernie Nolan in the final on Friday.

 

 

 

Oh FFS! Bernie has had the advantage of singing last more times than anyone and Darius has never sung last. The most blatant time was when it went girl,boy,girl.....until it got to Danny, Darius, Bernie.

 

It was also very unfair to make Kym sing first in the semi-final when Marcella definitely hadn't. Bernie, I'm not sure.

 

That Sun piece sounds like a load of tosh! Why would D get them to sew up all his trousers. I think they've pushed credibility a tad far there.
