I think Faith in me is a great track and its a shame it didnt get heard a lot more because it was a B side.

Makes you wonder who chose the singles.

I don't think I'll ever like 'Devil In You'. His voice sounds good when he sings it livebut, I really dislike the song. If it hadn'tbeen Darius, that one would probably have put me off buying the album 'Live Twice'

I wouldn't not buy an album because there was only one track I wasn't that keen on.

DIY has always gone down very well with large and small audiences when I've seen D live but for me, it just doesn't fit on the album at all.

IMO It would have been better to have had Secret Song first and DIY hidden at the end of the track.

Regretfully, I think Darius's persistence with it even now may well indicate the decision was his and not that of A&R or somebody else in 19 or Mercury.

His father loves it. He wrote it for Natasha. I can understand him perservering with it but, even if it's close to his heart, it doesn't make it a good song.

I liked it OK at the beginning but it quickly lost its shine because he's sung it virtually every time I've seen him live or on TV in the past two years.

I think I just got mad and frustrated and turned that into a dislike of the song because I've been champing at the bit to hear Better Man, Resolution, How Do You Like It even Stars Crash Down, not to mention real heartbreakers like Journeys End and the beautiful Secret Song.

Im with megham on devil in you. I also still love chrysallis to a butterfly. I do wonder who actually choses the singles because I do feel Darius has some input in this and I feel several mistakes have been made, girl in the moon, kinda love, and dare I say it live twice all good songs but not mindblowing compared to what was available. I hope there is not going to be another mistake with going with the style of devil in you as an album. I do agree with what poster girl says in that his own songs generally have that something that is his style but I like to hear the richness of his deeper voice and not so much falsetto.

i loved one of his new comments.

Thanks for adding me to your friends.

It was a pleasure to work with you on Chicago in London - one of the best Billy Flynn's.

Good Luck with the upcoming album and if ever you need any brass players......!!!!

Funnily enough, I loved Darius as Billy Flynn (prefer him as Darius though) and I loved the band. They were as important as any other cast member and really make the show.

You beat me to it Meg, I was just about to post. Lovely comment and from someone really in music.

It's bad that we feel pleased and surprised really - Darius is that good. Ian sounds good too. I suppose we so much anti D, it's nice to see appreciation of D.

I wonder if Ian was playing when i was watching? I wonder if he was the cyclist?

this is true..I always feel I need somehow to be backed up on what I know..so much anti Darius stuff aruond, although I have always prided mysefl on knowing what I like..and genuinely recognising if something is good.

What a great comment :cheer:

Like you say it always comes as a suprise when we here good things said about Darius

It's great to hear that from someone who has seen many Billy Flynns :D

Well, if he hadn't done Billy Flynn, I'd have saved a lot of money as I probably wouldn't have got around to seeing any of the other musicals either.

I've always gone locally i.e Glasgow or Edinburgh to see the odd musical but in truth I've more often been to ballet, plays and Scottish/Glaswegian plays/comedies.

It was definitely the case that if I didn't move my butt and go to London to see Darius, I wouldn't see him face his new challenge at all. I've only ever gone to the West End to see anything when I was staying with friends in Kent or Berkshire. Tbh I don't think there is any play/opera/ballet/musical which could not wait until I was in the vicinity or until it came to Scotland.

I would, however, move heaven and earth to find the means to see Darius perform anywhere. No matter how hard it has been for me to do that in the past, Darius has never once disappointed me in any way.

Every time I see him, I become more aware of what a remarkably mature, balanced and talented young man he is.

I loved 'Les Miserables' - a musical, along with 'Chicago' and pointedly ignored before. If I had to choose, I'd see Darius performing but, I have enjoyed seeing the others.
Is anyone else having trouble getting'Chrysalis to Butterfly' to play through on D's myspace?
I have always had a thing for musicals. I saw les Miserables on Broadway but didnt enjoy it. That is not to say I didnt like the music,. I loved it but I hated the setting of the show, french revolution etc, found it very depressing. Also saw phantom of the opera and had the same feeling about that.Am looking forward to seeing the tv show where Andrew lloyd webber is doing a show along the lines of How do you solve a problem like Maria but this time it will be to chose the lead for Joseph which I think has some great songs in it and have seen it four times and it always gets the audience going in a feel good way. I wonder what other shows D could do, Grease? Guys and dolls., Oklahoma, Kismet, Annie get your gun, showboat , come to mind.
