Nice blog. The last one convinced me Darius had a real passion for his music again. This one tells me Darius is still Darius.

 

He's every bit as determined, ambitious and positive as always. His anti-negativity force shield is up and the universe is his limit. The excesses of LA have not changed him nor the responsibility of family life, as I sometimes worried could have been the case. He will remain fiercely independent and plough his own creative furrow.

 

With all that energy combined with his natural talent, training and experience, the new album will be the best yet.

I just hope HE isnt giving up..I would have really appreciated an update on what he is up to..

I hope that his blog is supposed to give us a big hint that he is working hard at making the album his best so far and that he has been striving to get the best possible deals for distribution/promotion etc., and that because of all his efforts, he is winning and will come back stronger than ever!!! That's my interpretation, anyway!! :yahoo: :D

yes, I was hoping it was something like that..

I'm desperate to hear him speak about his new songs too, but he may be still at the stage of having to whittle down and select from the many he has already written. It's tricky, I think.

 

If he speaks about certain songs, he'll probably feel committed to putting them on the album and may then have to leave out something he later comes up with that he prefers.

 

What would you want him to say? "I've completed x number of songs that are 100% certain to be on my 3rd album."

 

I can't recall artists talking about specific info about their album in advance (other than which producer they're currently working.. and that's usually by a media leak not the artist... or a guesstimate of the release date) until the master copy of the album is pretty much set in stone and in many cases about to be launched as promos and preview digital tracks.

I don't think he'll give a release date until it's set in stone. He knows how much the receding and then disappearing date for 'Live Twice' bothered us. We didn't even know his Dad had been ill then.

As long as what comes is something I'd like too. I mean, a fire breathing dragon sounds great but, it really wouldn't fit into my life style and the house IS flammable

I hope this time we'll get a more smiley or arty album cover rather than the glum pics favoured by Mercury. There were several pictures from the New York shoot which were obviously far better images for the cover.

 

IMHO the one with the taxi looks as if it was produced as a cover image. I would have preferred it..

I thought the 'Live Twice' cover was awful. It was as though they were saying ' don't judge him on his looks, he can't help being good looking'

It's just not Darius - it's like a completely reverse image of normal Darius and completely devoid of any charisma.You've seen him in the flesh hundreds of times. Has he ever looked like that to you?

they did always choose the most odd photos didnt they..although I liked the Incredible single cover..and live twice single.

I wasnt looking for any specifics from darius' blog..I suppose I was just hoping he would drop in a bit about how he is going on..I still dont know how to read his last blog..either he is confirming it is worth never giving up because something is panning out..or he is giving himself a kick up the backside..the bit about relationships made me think..but then I am one for reading too deeply between the lines

I've always said he's better looking in the flesh, and certainly very charismatic. Typical mid 20's male.

I take pics of him but, his looks are the least important thing. There is just nothing else I can do. If I could get a clip of him singing instead, that'd be fantastic.

Although I only take a couple of pics because they're usually dreadful, they are still important to me. Looking at one brings up so many memories, not just the obvious ones about meeting, talking to Darius and above all watching him command that stage at will, but also those of friendships and laughter, of wonderful golden moments when Darius was nowhere in the vicinity

The memories are the best thing. It's always such a shame when we all don't get the chance to meet up.

Luckily, I see a few people and I do always feel that I wish I'd had time to talk to people more when we'rethere en masse. But, it's the story around the pics. may makes me laugh every time - as does September, and October.

 

It's such a shame he wasn't well in some of my faves. Still, I can look at them and feel like looking after him, all over again.

I dont quite understand my space. The friends number has been stuck on 1954 for a few days and now it is 1952. Also think its time the tunes changed, love to love has been there quite a while also Im not buying. Time for a change?

I think someone in LA is finding they don't have enough time to do the myspace thing as much as they did.

I cant think what he can be doing instead of it..hopefully something important :D
