July 25, 200718 yr I wasnt aware of John barrowman until dancing on ice and Im not keen. I was aware of Dave willets as he has done a lot of musicals. Just goes to show the power of tv and radio. It would be nice if D did some more DJ work when he stood in before and did his version of american pie, but then he is not here long enough for that I suppose.
July 25, 200718 yr Darius has a great voice for speech audio and where it really showed to me was his background commentary on the documentary of his trip to headline the MTV Awards in India. There is such a warmth and sincerity in his voice, a true appreciation of the country and its culture and the acknowledgement that there is much poverty. If he lived in the UK, he could do voiceovers/ audio books easily, especially now that he is showing considerable acting skills. He makes a great DJ because he's loved music all his life and that knowledge and confidence comes through. He's easy to talk to and handles phone in requests and competitions so well, putting people at their ease. I'm sure Darius really enjoyed having a show every night for a week but unless it was a national station I don't think it would be a sensible use of his time in the run up to his next album. A week of gigs of any size would be much better. Edited July 25, 200718 yr by Baytree
July 25, 200718 yr often watch documentaries and think Darius' could do voice overs well..sometimes we comment on the voiceovers and if it irritates us, or if we like it, Darius has a very soothing voice and no harsh accent which I think would be great.
July 25, 200718 yr Isn't that half the problem with Darius? He hasn't found out what his limitation is yet and so still wants to challenge himself.
July 25, 200718 yr I agree with you 100% there. me too.....but please not the week I'm in nights
July 25, 200718 yr Why do you think he hasnt done voiceovers or the like, it really irritated me seeing Denise van outen doing the Morrisons advert especially as the theatre lot would say its ok.

July 25, 200718 yr Darius wouldn't do ads unless it was for a charity appeal. He was offered ads and sponsorships but turned them all down flat. I see Duncan James didn'ttakelong to cash in on the Billy Flynn veneer to promote a posh car for Seat and of course, got one of them for himself. He said he'd be around Covent Garden for quite a while and people would see him driving it to his work. No doubt..................... it's bright yellow, or at least the one he was photographed with.
July 25, 200718 yr D doesn't want to do that. He may change his mind at some point but, making lots of money wasn't the aim.
July 25, 200718 yr He just likes the adrenalin rush he gets with a challenge. I can't see that changing
July 26, 200718 yr mm, Darius turned down ads didnt he, I cant see him doing them, how pathetic of Duncan, I cannot stand that sort of thing - usually it denotes someone is desperate for the cash...ads are different from documentary narrating though. I coul dhave seen him doing one of those saving planet earth shows, although I supose like anything it has to be something you are interested in to work, but "most of the celebs" did a good job with the narrating in them, informative and interesting. Darius always seems to research and be so informative when he is talking about something though, I am sure he would be good at something like that. Sometimes I think I would be interested in seeing him do one of these ansestor documentaries.people researching their past..I think Darius' ancestory could be fascinating -
July 26, 200718 yr It sounds as though it would be. Both parents stories would show how opposite backgrounds can work
July 26, 200718 yr It's a shame that Booth decided against writing his memoirs. I think they would have been fascinating.
