September 5, 200915 yr The Robbie forum does not like criticism at all, they seem to think everything robbie does is excellent, here in the take that forum we accept the guys do make mistakes and not all their songs video;s are brilliant.
September 5, 200915 yr Well that's true - without him it would never have happened in the first place. There's no doubt that he worked very hard for them. But I don't think that Take That would have worked this time around if he was still managing them. They were younger then and to a certain extent they could accept him dominating their every move but that would never work now. It seems to me that his style of management was very much divide and rule (if that makes sense!) and I think that's why they seem to be so much closer this time around. I have to say though that I did feel a bit sorry for him when Gary mentioned in his book that he was upset at the premier of the documentary when people were laughing at the jokes made at his expense. I do think that he was genuinely fond of the lads. I think NMS is a very dominant person and especially Jason and Mark coudn't cope to well with that kind of people. Gary was the "choosen" one, so he had not too many problems, and Howard takes everything easier. If I understand well Gary's book, Jason coudn't stand NMS and Mark was afraid of him and afraid to speak out his mind. No wonder they choose Mark's manager, how much do you hear about him? He really is like a grey eminence, managing without tam-tam. NMS done a great deal of good but also, like a dominant mother, didn't let them free to evolve and didn't trust their own power. Could you believe Mark could develop so much having NMS still as manager?

I agree that there is no way Take That could exist today with a manager like NMS - however - Take That the first time round couldn't have survived with any manager other than NMS. Norma
September 5, 200915 yr That is probably a very true statement to make, and i agree i think if nigel had being manager 2nd time round all we would have got was the greatest hits as i think he would have caused alot of friction and we would have been denied 2 brilliant album beautiful world and the the fantastic the circus.
September 7, 200915 yr Author I'm going to try and contact Nigel and see why he hasn't written a book yet. I want to know why!!!!!! He must have loads of good juicy stories to tell! The beggar doesn't even have an email address ... I'm going to have to send a good old fashioned letter! Hey ... maybe he'll employ me as his ghost writer .... and he could get his typing done for free! I have to admit ... in fact I don't mind admitting ... I actually like Nigel! Which makes me unpopular with both Take That AND Robbie fans! Norma Edited September 7, 200915 yr by Norma_Snockers
