I'd prayed she'd be able to do it! Woo!!! I'm hoping next week it'll go platinum!

I was disaaponted in a way she is still number 1 as i so wanted Bon Jovi to get number 1, but im happy the album is going so well for cheryl, i think sales this week should at the lowest be 80,000.

Fell to low top10 in midweeks, but has been pretty much stable all week long, which means it's mainly due to new releases. And for sure it will go up next week with her two performances on the CIN gig.

ya im not worried about the big drop this week as there is alot of new big releases this week, her sales will still be decent enough for this week though even though she will have a sharp fall in positions.

Drops to #7 this week, with 3 new entries ahead of it. I'm sure sales are still good though. :)

I think that Stand Up and Parachute are the ONLY 2 commercial sounding songs left on a lacklustre album -_-

 

Tbh i cant even see 4 singles being released...i bet they will stop after Parachute (if it is indeed confirmed for third single release....id much prefer Stand Up!)

OK, I got this for Christmas but my parents have gone on holiday so I've opened it already and put it on repeat. :heehee: I must say, I am a very harsh critic of Cheryl's solo career but I'm very impressed :o I was fully prepared to hate it (which is why I asked for it for Xmas, and didn't waste my money on it :P )

 

I feel impelled to review it, in brief, so here goes:

 

1. 3 Words - Initially hated this, and I mean HATE. I didn't see anything good about it all, but now after quite a few listens I appreciate it for what it is - Cheryl's attempt at a stripped-back, non-GA dance track. For some reason I'm always reminded of Freemasons - Uninvited when I listen to it. Still not one of the highlights on the album imo. 7/10

2. Parachute - I loved this as soon as I heard it, but it is over-repetitive after a while. I'm a bit gutted that it's going to be 3rd single now because it's not as much of a grower like the others and could easily annoy quickly. Very catchy though. 8/10

3. Heaven - I like this, but it's definitely filler compared to the rest of the album. I like the sentiment behind it as well. "I ain't gotta die for me to go to heaven, ma heaven's with you you you." 7.5/10

4. Fight For This Love - Disappointed when I first heard it because the vocals are weak, but it's actually become a classic song so quickly. I think whether Cheryl has other hits or not this'll always be up there. Amazing when drunk too :wub: 10/10

5. Rain On Me - One of the best on the album. The "Raiiin on meeee" bit which goes into the chorus is immense. One of the songs I put on repeat. 9/10

6. Make Me Cry - For some reason this reminds me of Janet Jackson. I love the "If you're trying to hurt me like I hurt you, then you wiiiin" bit, dislike the constant "are you trying to make me cry?" but overall, good song. Could be even better without such a repetitive chorus. 8.5/10

7. Happy Hour - Pleasant enough song but undoubtedly filler. 7/10

8. Stand Up - Amazingly catchy and instant song, I don't understand why this isn't 3rd single and if it's not 4th something is srsly wrong in the Cheryl camp. 9.5/10

9. Don't Talk About This Love - I love the sentiment of the song, again her vocals aren't the best but for some reason that suits the song. Nice lyrics as well. 8/10

10. Boy Like You - One of the more RnBish/hip hopish songs on the album. It's OK, but could be better. Will.I.Am's bit is quite good imo. 6/10

11. Heartbreaker - This song isn't as good as I thought it was at the time, but still 8/10.

Most people who didn't like it at first are now really into it, seems like the album is a bit of a grower ^_^ And when you add Didn't I and Boys, it gets even better :wub:

I do wish Boys had been on the album, it's better than Boy Like You!

It will probbaly appear on the album if it gets a deluxe release.

Album back in the top10 and selling an other 84,754 copies this week! :cheer:
