England have played some of the least interesting and poorly played games of the tournament so far. I've nearly fallen asleep watching them. Whereas the France-Spain game was exciting and full of twists and turns. The same could be said about the Portugal-Holland game. :)

:puke2:

We shouldn't care if we're playing 'attractive' football. I know I, and many others, would prefer to go far and not be exciting than play really well and crash out early!

as Holland is out i will be supporting the UK team from now on. Go England !!

they did well so far.

Had England been in a tougher group (say, Group C for example...) and played that p***-poor, they'd've been on the plane home last week..... England, as usual, have been lucky, nothing more, just about every other team who's made it this far has had to face pretty strong opposition at least once......

Game 1 - Paraguay - the Paraguayans were so rubbish, they even obliged you with an own goal

Game 2 - Trinidad - Took you 80 minutes to do anything and John Terry sparing your blushes in the first half when T&T looked like having a certain goal

Game 3 - Sweden - the poorest I've seen the Swedes in a LONG time, and you still couldn't do anything more than a draw against them... Contrast with Germany who swatted them like the flies they were in 15 minutes.... The Germans could've scored another six had it not been for the heroics of the Swedish goalie...

Game 4 - Ecuador - About the only reasonably strong team England have played so far, but even then, not exactly that great...

And now, you've got a pretty easy job in the QFs as well, what with Portugal missing about half their first team through injury or suspension after that frankly ridiculous display of reffing in the Dutch game.... I'll say it again - you are bloody lucky......

Against Germany though, Sweden went to sleep, they just wern't up for the game. Sweden weren't that bad against us, well Ibrahimovic was but apart from that the rest of the team looked ok.

You'd think that two goals hammering past you in 15 minutes would be a pretty good wake-up call though....

Yeah you would  .

Anyway, the curse of the supposive winners strikes again, as Argentina are out and threy got beaten by a mediocre Germany side who had about 1 shot on target.

Yeah you would  .

I wouldn't say Germany are mediocre at all, I've certainly enjoyed their games far more than England's unbelievable boreathons.....

Klinsmann's a great strategist, the guy knows exactly what he's doing.....

I have to question the decision-making of the Argentina coach - taking off Riquelme and leaving Messi on the bench... Incredibly stupid....

Yeak Klinsmann's a great coach and such better than Sven  . Yeah the England games have being boring but i'm not that bothered, I mean at the end of the day its the results that count.

Why is Klinsmann regarded as a great coach?

Since he took charge, Germany have yet to beat a team ranked in the World's Top10 (in 90mins).

Yeah maybe they haven't, but I mean the way he went all out against the Argies today for example, I mean he was willing to take a risk were most other mangagers wouldn't take those sorts of risks. The Germans only have Ballack who is considered a world class star, yet the Argies have Messi, Riquelme, Ayala, Tevez etc who are world class recognized players, it just goes to show what a great team spirit Klinsmann has brought the German side.

England have played $h!t so far and are lucky not to have faced any serious opposition but I think they will raise their game today against Portugal's reserve team

And as the Argies crash out my theory becomes completely true B)

Not really, Italy are still there, they've been playing pretty attractive football since the group stages and have faced stiffer tests than England did....

Yes, like Scotland in their World Cup European Region Qualifying group I suppose... <_<

Scotland beat Italy or did they draw with them and beat Norway. Scotland are starting to imorove but with their euro 2008 group as it they wont qualify. Hopfuly the changes with Serbia and Montengro will mean it changes.

Not very lucky as far as football teams go are you? :(

How about backing Portugal to win next.

Scotland didn't beat Italy. It was a draw. Scotland's best footballing memory TO DATE.

CONGRATS.
