My first Eurovision memory is 1996...my parents say that "Ooh, ahh, just a little bit" was one of my favourite songs when I was little.

I liked the German song when I first heard it, and the singer had quite a nice body...Dita Von Teese was pointless. If they wanted to win, she should have been fully naked, which obviously wasn't allowed. Did they perform after 9pm, the water-shed?

I think so, but it might not have been in all countries... I'll give you Oscar Loya is fairly attractive, but anyway...
I've watched Eurovision for years, 1994 is the first I can remember most of, but I remember supporting Sonia before that... My parents hated it, so it seemed almost rebellious :kink: The first time I really considered myself a fan though was in 1999, though my tastes took a while to settle (France's Ou Aller was my pre-contest favourite )

Germany this year was p*** poor tbh. Bad vocal, boring show, Dita Von Teese living up to her name by standing there for thirty seconds in, frankly, more than usual and doing NOTHING... :puke2:

I've watched from 1999 onwards, seeing as I had bought the Precious single earlier that week not realising it was our Eurovision entry, but just because I thought it was a great pop song. My mum said 'that band you like are on in a minute', so I proceeded to watch the show, and the obsession began  well not quite because in 2000 I really only loved Ines and Alsou...it was in 2001 when the real obsession started, when I bought the album, watched the videos over and over again etc...and by far my favourite (and nobody else's on ESC sites :P) was Tanel & Dave so I was so glad that it won

I still don't understand how you like that "song" Everybody so much :puke2:

It's a nice way to get into Eurovision though, kinda organic :)

god, don't even ask me about ESC or I will be guaranteed to lecture anybody on it for hours on end  it's quite sad really...I even did my uni final dissertation on Europop with a full chapter (4000 words) on Eurovision and Melodifestivalen  my lecturer said 'what research have you done' and I said, I don't need to do any research I know all the stats/full scoreboards and points scored already :heehee:

The thing that really can't fit into my mind is that final dissertation might consist of thoughts about Europop let alone Eurovision  Or maybe it's because such 'departments' don't exist here in Russia.
