It was great hearing Will talking this morning on Palm FM, they played Grace and Hopes and Fears as well, I missed the majority of the interview as I was late getting up, but hopefully one of our lovely Devotees will have got it all recorded for us.

There's an interesting piece over on OS, posted by some kind peep, from the Oxford Mail. Unfortunately I don't know how to bring it over.

Thanks TT - just been reading that over on D.

Re the Palm interview there's a listen again facility and Ben the DJ posted on D giving us the link.

Mary has managed to record it for us.

Will Young meets young people in Barking and Dagenham

Will Young met a group of young people from Barking and Dagenham’s Gascoigne Estate who are making a positive contribution to their community.

The singer met young people involved in the Community Space Challenge project, which transforms local environments through gardening or renovation. He also met some local young musicians and visited a group cooking World Cup themed food at the estate’s youth café!

Run by Catch22, this work forms part of a Youth Inclusion Programme (YIP). YIPs are designed to prevent young people at risk of offending from entering the criminal justice system and reduce anti-social behaviour.

Other activities on offer to young people at Catch22’s Youth Inclusion Programme in Barking and Dagenham include sports, workshops and visits outside of the area. Catch22 also work closely with schools and the local police in the Barking and Dagenham area.

Abi Goodwin, Local Manager at Catch22 in Barking and Dagenham says:

'It was fantastic to have Will Young visit our service. We know this service works and makes a real difference to the futures of these young people. He was brilliant with each young person and had a genuine interest in their lives. They were literally buzzing when he left.'

Catch22 in Barking and Dagenham is currently looking for volunteers to help with some of their activities and staff. If you would like to get involved, please call: 0208 594 8990.

Me too, but whatever his plans are I'm sure they'll be well thought out.

You know what he's like - he won't put anything out until he's completely happy with it. I suspect he agreed to The Hits being put out now to give him a bit of breathing space.

So was i ...the problem he might have is very low sales if he brings it out in the first half of next year....it would not have been a problem in the past but with his airplay being virtually non existent there will be nothing to keep the album in peoples minds after the first few weeks plus sales are very low then anyway, to sell a decent amount he would need to release a few singles ALL getting good airplay....without airplay he needs those large sales he gets at Xmas [also there are more opportunities for TV at that time]

Hopes he brings out some stonking singles that the radio stations love.

Yes i was wondering how airplay might be..it's been a big problem the last few releases...Christmas is a great selling time but Christmas 2011 is too far away surely? Definitely for me! ...how on earth will i cope..that's three years without an album proper! :o

And perhaps to underline the start of a new phase in his music?..i would of said 'era' but thats such a pretentious prat of a word i was worried you'd all stone me

Good to see isn't it...compared to the others?

Tickets are still available for the festival as follows: Wednesday, July 7 (Will Young) Enclosure only; Thursday (Bryn Terfel) Grandstand very limited availability, Lawn and Enclosure good availability; Friday (Nigel Kennedy) Grandstand very limited availability, Lawn and Enclosure good availability; Saturday (Symphonic Queen) Enclosure Plus availablity; Sunday (Ronan Keating) Grandstand and Enclosure Plus good availability.

laughed at the beginning bit though.

Will has done so well with his sales for the summer festivals, considering the financial climate.

Yes it's a concern. Not sure whether it's best to release his dance/pop album when there's less competition or wait till the the higher sales generated in the fourth quarter.

I read that ...poor JM has had to cancel Harewood house his leicester tickets have been halved in price and i read last week that his Epsom tickets have had 25% knocked off the price.

I bet you are as upset about all this as I am. :naughty: His less than charitable mention of Will when they were both up for Best Male suddenly springs to my mind. Just goes to show who the public want to see.
