Was Will told to take pic down?

Will Young Avoids Twitter When Drunk

British singer Will Young has banned himself from accessing his Twitter.com account when he is drunk after posting a naked picture of himself during a booze binge last year (10).

The Leave Right Now hitmaker stunned fans by uploading the revealing picture of himself in the nude, taken on a private beach, which showed him laughing as he holds a shoe in place to cover his genitals.

But his record label bosses were less than impressed with the saucy snap and ordered Young to take it down from the site - and now he is wary of posting anything online if he has had a drink.

He tells the Liverpool Echo, "I'm not very good on it (Twitter). I'm okay when I'm sober, but the minute I have a drink I lose any boundaries. There will be things I think are hilarious the record company really don't.

"My first post on Twitter was me, naked, with a shoe over my c**k. I thought everyone would think it was funny. They didn't. I had to take it down. So now I'm banned from Twitter when I'm drunk. It's probably for the best."

It's a bit of rehash of the Liverpool Echo article that you and i think Sunday have already posted Pip.

What a pleasure it was seeing “An evening with Will Young” on Saturday night. Without contradicting myself on my comments in regards to the shabby state of ITV… this was a surprising exception as for once they put on a decent programme! Good timing of course as last week saw the release of Will Young’s new album “Echoes” of which managed to reach number 1 in the albums chart. This programme was celebrating his new album release by him performing some new tracks from it, along with some old classics which has made him the iconic singer he is and also celebrating the fact it has been 10 years since that evening when he was declared the winner of Pop Idol.

All be it he came from a music reality TV series, of which you know my opinions of… Pop Idol was different. It wasn’t mainstream, there was a real buzz about it and sense of competition… unlike The X Factor which has simply become too much and now dominating the music industry. What a pleasure it was watching Will take over the stage and the crowd with his ability to put on a good show and more importantly the ability to sing live. Sing live he can! his passion and emotion seemed to come through on every song and not only that came across to be an intelligent individual of which it was clear he came from a privileged background. I certainly enjoyed the performances and he allowed for plenty of audience interaction in-between songs. Something of which I find very important as it makes artists seem more “real” and not robotic simply blurting out songs one after another, script like. The only let down came from Kate Thornton presenting it (at least it wasn’t Christine Bleakley.) Though her dress was truly dire and with the overuse of Lipstick it made her look as if she had just come straight from a street corner in London’s red light district.

I shall say well done to ITV for commissioning this and giving Will a platform to show off his ability to sing. So nice to see that some chart musicians can actually sing acoustically and not being drowned out by backing vocals. I for one pre ordered the album and very glad I did! let’s hope there is more programmes of this sort to come, it may restore a little bit of my faith in the Independent Television Network!

Liverpool Echo

FORMER Spice Girl Melanie C was among the celebrities who penned their names on a special guitar to support two Merseyside children’s charities.

The instrument was signed by artists to support the ECHO’s Liverpool Unites and Radio City’s Cash For Kids.

It will go under the hammer during Rossie’s 24Hour Breakfast fundraising marathon, which returns on Thursday, September 22.

DJ Rossie will present live from 8am on the day until 8am on the Friday from Palm Sugar in Liverpool One.

Activities will take place on Chavasse Park including a Zumbathon, a giant inflatable assault course and a stage featuring local acts.

During the event bespoke items will be auctioned off for listeners and ECHO readers.

It will include the acoustic guitar donated by Dawson’s Music Shop Liverpool.

The guitar is signed by stars including Will Young, Joe Jonas, Pixie Lott, Dappy, The Saturday’s, One Direction, James Morrison and The Wanted

Jan Rankin, senior fundraiser from Cash for Kids, said: “The generosity shown by Dawsons Liverpool in donating this beautiful instrument means that Rossie will have a bespoke prize to auction.

“It is expected to raise hundreds of pounds for the two local charities.

“We have never offered a signed guitar in previous 24Hour Breakfast fundraising events so this is quite a coup. And it was only made possible by the support shown by the music store. ”

Last year more than £30,000 was raised to support children’s charities and organisations throughout Liverpool, the North West and North Wales.

The event this month is expected to exceed last year’s figure with cash raised going to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, the chosen charity of Liverpool Unites.

The event will also support local children’s charities and organisations through Cash for Kids.

Don’t miss next Thursday’s ECHO and tune into Radio City for more information about this year’s 24Hour Fundraising Marathon for Liverpool Unites and Cash for Kids.

I did wonder if perhaps Will would go to this, but obviously he didn't, still at least we know it's started showing, it seems ages since we found out about it.
