That will make you one happy lady. :)

All quiet on the Will front then? I wonder if he's gone on holiday?

It looks like Will has a new manager.

Wonder what it will mean for Will.

Well won't he just carry on doing his own thing like he usually does? maybe he'll just get promoted a bit different?

Thanks BYM+M's Great praise for Will. He's the exception to these talent shows. Here's the Wil bits.

More recently you’ve worked with Will Young and Olly Murs. What is your take on the talent shows like X Factor and Pop Idol?

It really annoys me actually. What is weird, working with Will, is that he was the first one and he watches it, we watch it and we all laugh. It’s a different thing now. Back then when Will did it, 9 years ago, it was a proper talent show. It wasn’t the massive, horrific, money earning TV show that it is now. That was the total beginning of it. I don’t like the fact that it is so shallow on every level; it’s about making money and not about peoples’ talent. It’s a side issue if they can sing or not and if you’ve got a funny haircut you’ve probably got a better chance.

I earn my main money playing pop music so it’s really close to what I do; that’s why it frustrates me cos it’s competing with real pop music. I feel a bit of a fraud saying that cos pop is not considered ‘serious’ music but it certainly can be. Will’s a fantastic singer without question. Always in tune, always in time. No Autotune or anything like that with Will and now there’s nothing on track, it’s just a real band. What’s funny is people are blown away by it cos it’s so real. There are real musicians playing well together.

And favourite gigs?

I play at this little place down the road called the 606 Club and I’ve had some really good gigs there. At the end of one of Will’s last tours he said he wanted to do some little jazz gigs and I said, ‘Well there’s this little club I play at’. One thing led to another and we’ve done about 4 gigs there. It’s really cool and I’ve got such a soft spot for it. I’m playing there in December with Hamish Stuart on the 13th and 14th December.

Some of the Will gigs have been really good. I remember the Isle Of Wight with Will was really vibey. We were all on top of our game. Quite early on Will had a band that was all singing, all dancing, lots of technology involved - a big machine type gig with lots of stuff on track. Then all of a sudden it got swung completely the other way and he got a real live band. There are no clicks. I’ve got a click personally for myself if I want but I can turn it off if it’s feeling good. That gig Will was a released man; he really dug it and he’s brilliant with the people. I heard a desk take of that and it was really good.

Ooh I missed that. Possibly some summer gigs or more 606 dates?

Well spotted about the crowd. :)

Did you notice how he just skirted over the Olly mention?

Thanks girls. I Googled "click tracks" and would imagine with the big set-up Will had with Joe & Co they would have needed them to all keep in time. Doubt Ash and the other boys would need them as a relatively small 5-piece.

Absolutely.

Sums him up exactly - he was the same at the two gigs I went to.

I wonder if Will is going to sing on that Ruth Jones show.
