Having forayed into acting and appearing on TV dramas such as Skins, we had assumed Will Young had done a 'Justin Timberlake' on us and retired from music. Thankfully the Pop Idol winner hasn't completely snubbed music in favour of the dramatic arts and will feature on Shapeshifters' new single.

 

We've seen many talent show stars fade into obscurity but Will Young is one of the few we would be disappointed to lose forever. He made a fleeting return to music last year, teaming up with Groove Armada on 'History' and now the singer is treading the dance floor once again to sing on Shapeshifters next single 'Crazy'.

 

The single will be released next month and the dance duo behind Shapeshifters, Simon Martin and Max Reich have discussed working with reality show contestants. They told Beat My Day: "I don't really mind it that much as some great talents such as Leona Lewis and Will Young have been found this way.

 

"We've actually been working with Will on a new track called 'Crazy' and he's amazing on it, so [it]can't be all bad."

But why just because he isn't the run of the mill popstar who churns out album after album do they wonder if he's packed in. One of the secrets of his longevity I would say.

I know i don't get it TT, ..he just did a summer tour playing to around 90k all in that didn't Finnish until August..it's only January :huh:

Perhaps they were thinking about him not haiving an new album out for nearly three years...when you think about it like that..it does seem ages, i mean..three years since Let It Go..blimey :unsure:

But he released his Hits album with two new tracks in November 2009 - just a little over a year ago Bev. It may not be a new studio album but it's sold 524,000 copies - so people do know he hasn't disappeared.

 

To be honest I've only read a couple of Tweets asking where he is - far outweighed by Tweets saying they can't wait for his new one.
