Looks like Bedlam is reminding people of Will's music. Hits back up to #117 in the Pop chart. :)

His airplay ain't too bad either for someone not promoting.

Wonder when we'll get to hear the Shapeshifters collab?

He's dropped slightly - he was at #107 yesterday. He'd dropped out completely for a couple of days and then went back in at #179 then up to #107.

Edit - he's up to #115 at the moment.

As you say not bad for someone who isn't promoting at the moment. I did notice that Take That and Glee adopted the bright yellow album cover too. Makes it stand out from the crowd.

& Bruno Mars :)

Great that The Hits has been even higher.

The Hits still doing well on ITunes Pop Chart.... #112 at the moment

This has come up again.. would be brilliant to have his new music, then a covers album later the same year of the year after..perfect for his acting in 2012!

So I was thrilled to be on the same radio show as Horse yesterday namely Fred MacAulays Show on BBC Scotland. And she has some very exciting news. Firstly she is touring in Scotland and then Australia, secondly Will Young sang Careful another sublime song by Horse at Glastonbury and everything is clenched to see if he records it in his up and coming album of cover versions. Such a high profile artist covering one of her songs might, after so long, catapult this immensely talented singer songwriter into her rightful place as a highly revered artist who for some reason has always just bobbed below the radar of whatever it takes to get household name status. So support!

Thanks Bev. Could be to celebrate 10 years since Pop Idol. Think he deserves an audience with too.

I was hoping for some sort on Celebration of the milestone too TT..an audience with Will would be brilliant and perhaps that MTV unplugged type show that i've always wanted  and perhap a show like the one he did after the first year too...Pop Idol TEN Years on  to show whats he achieved since his win and people can find out what happened to the rest of the top ten..Zoe and Hayley are doing theatre aren't they? and Gareth is doing a new show on the Westend i believe? Darius did his tour recently amongst other things so he's still busy, I'm not a fan of either but Gareth and Darius although not in music the way they wanted from entering the show, have managed to diversify enough and are still successful in what they do as a result.. It will be interesting to see how many from X factor can mange ten years.

Oh i love him to bits! he wears what he wants when he wants and paps and anyone else be damned!

Me too. The fact that he doesn't give a nick makes him so adorable.

They don't get him here so can you imagine what they would think if he ever did any acting in the USA where the actors go around all day done up to the nines? and he strolled about dressed the way he does?

A lot of them are self obsessed here too. Will is such a breath of fresh air!

Another news filled day in Will's world

Vanity Fair!

Vanity Fair runs eight-page Sky 'superstar' advertorial

The feature appears in the March issue of Vanity Fair, on newsstands from today. It showcases Sky presenters as well as celebrities and actors appearing on Sky-specific shows.

Eddie Izzard, Will Young, 'Gavin and Stacey' star Ruth Jones, and former Pussycat doll Kimberley Wyatt are among those who have been photographed and interviewed for the spread, which is "as close to editorial as we dare to be" says Claire Singer, promotions director at Vanity Fair.

Singer said: "This is a subliminal way for Sky to get their talent across to readers".

The advertorial has been created to mimic a feature. It uses the headline "Watch Me!" and the sub-headline "What’s on TV tonight? Whether you’re in the mood for drama, entertainment, comedy or the arts, in 2011 Sky has plenty of outstanding new and original programming available at the push of a button".

It then invites the readers to "meet some of this year’s small-screen superstars".

Vanity Fair, which has an average ABC circulation of 102,445, has previously created bespoke advertorial features for Dunhill and Orange.

Its Dunhill campaign featured actors wearing Dunhill tailoring such as Daniel Craig and Ray Winstone, who were shot by David Bailey.

The annual Orange Rising Star award, which recognises an exceptional acting talent and a star in the making, was the platform for an Orange and Vanity Fair advertorial in 2008 when the magazine featured actors such as Gael García Bernal and Rachel McAdams.

Thanks once again Bev - I bought this month's issue in case he was in it following that Tweet about a photo shoot in a vintage Porsche.

Your link doesn't work. This one does: http://www.campaignlive.co.uk/news/1053305...ar-advertorial/

Thanks Bev. It's always exciting hearing music news Album 6 must be almost finished now :cheer:

Thanks to Janet on BD.

Metro!

fab news about the Album :cheer: and just LOVE his comments to the stupid press bloke. You can just imagine his mangers reaction 'WTF Will'?? :o

I believe in ghosts. You can walk into a room and know there’s a bad vibe so why shouldn’t that happen in a place where someone once lived who has now departed this world? I stayed in a friend’s large house when I was younger. It was haunted and was quite an unpleasant experience. I walked through the old part of the house and the curtains, which had been tied up, suddenly seemed to close on their own.

The show is on Living. Are you worried no one is going to watch it?

That’s always a worry with anything. It’s not as big as ITV but the great thing is it’s a British drama and they’ve previously just bought in US shows. I hope it’s the beginning of them investing in more British drama. It’s good for me to have spent three months doing a series and learning. Now I really feel like an actor – I’ve done a film, a play and a TV series. It worked for me. I’m not worried if people won’t see it. It’s the same with my music. When people come up and ask if I’ve had a record out I just say: ‘Well, obviously you don’t listen to Radio 2.’

What can we expect on the new album?

I’m so excited about it. I did a song with Groove Armada last year which someone compared to Bronski Beat, which was a compliment, so I’ve gone a bit upbeat. I’ve had good feedback from the record company.

Were you fed up doing ballads?

I can do more than one thing. I’ve always been more attuned to doing mid-tempo stuff, maybe because of my voice or temperament, and I’m not moving away from that. If I suddenly recorded a dubstep record – that’d be stupid. I want to do different things but within my boundaries; I want to continue to evolve.

Do you ever get stressed about the press?

No. I’ve been lucky. I’m not as ‘hot’ as I was at the beginning, which suits me well. I didn’t get stressed about the press because I thought there’s nothing someone can tell me about myself that I don’t know already – although there were stressful times. Coming out in the press wasn’t one of the top ten fun moments in my life. It was sometimes difficult becoming famous so quickly off a show that was a phenomenon. I want to try so many different things I’ve learnt to be patient for the opportunities to arise.

What’s the worst gig you’ve done?

I did a gig in Switzerland in some bar right after winning Pop Idol. I felt like a really bad pub singer. It was a big TV thing which I’d built up in my imagination but it turned out to be dreadful. I also did a private gig for a birthday party and had to come out through sliding doors but the doors stuck so I had to do most of the gig through a 12in gap.

Apparently you’ve announced you want to have a baby.

Someone asked me at an awards show recently if I wanted kids, which seems to be a standard question to ask gay men these days. I said yes and he said: ‘How would you have a child?’ I said: ‘Through penetrative sex.’ That’s how you have a baby, it’s not my place to tell him about the birds and the bees. The next day my manager phoned to ask what I’d been saying.

What names are on the short list?

I don’t want a baby! It was just a flippant comment. I need to have a dog first – and a boyfriend.
