Pop Idol winner Will Young has admitted he’ll be tuning in to The X Factor this year, despite hitting out at the show for being “too sensational”. Speaking to DigitalSpy this week, Will also confessed to finding himself shouting at the telly about Louis Walsh!

 

“It’s great Saturday night TV – it’ll be interesting to see what happens with the new judges,” the reality telly star said.

 

Will, you releases his new album this week, continued: “People get really worked up over it – including me! I’ve been known to shout at the TV at Louis Walsh. I’m more interested in the contestants, especially if they can find another Leona Lewis.”

 

Having won Pop Idol ten years ago, Will explained that the reality format had become harder for singers over the past decade – but reckoned he could still manage it!

 

The ‘Evergreen singer said: “The show has evolved with the media so it must be harder in that respect. I think I could still handle it; I was so focused on having a pop career that everything else would be periphery.

 

“It was different back then as it was all new, but I was so focused on getting a recording contract that I think I’d still be the same way if I was entering today. All you need is your foot in the door!”

 

Will Young previously took part in the show as Cheryl Cole’s aide at judges’ houses in 2009.
