HA :heehee: glad it's not just my mind playing tricks on me!

I didn't, although the CD player doesn't work, but the speakers do hence me playing my iPod at work over the speakers and not the CD's and I haven't bought her album so don't have the facility to play and promote it!

the only Beverley song on my iPod is Black Butta which has come on at work before as I said in the BJSC forum

Oh damn, I was hoping for some extra sales from Brighton Asda. :drama: Buy it, you may surprise yourself. ^_^

I doubt I'd like it based on the single, I don't like ballad Beverley, I can tolerate uptempo Beverley much more but everything I hear from her nowadays is slow

LOL! That's what I thought. Gave it a listen on spotify and it was quite upbeat/disco-y! LOL!!

You'll like 'Breakout'!

You might be surprised. "In Your Shoes", "Breakout" and "Soul Survivor" are certainly not ballads. Maybe you should consult Jonjo, he's not a fan and he gave it a listen on Spotify earlier today, I think he liked it more than he let on. :heehee:

why on earth does she keep releasing unmemorable (to the average listener, not loons like you Aaron :kink:) ballads that are destined to flop, it's so frustrating when she has much better material available (who on earth chose not to release Black Butta!?!) :drama:

ok, just listened to most of Beverley's album and it's about 100 times better than I thought it would be! there are some bland tracks and filler on there, and the lead single was a poor choice in my opinion

Breakout, Soul Survivor and Turned To Stone are all excellent :o

Woo! Three of the ones I most liked :D! (shocker :heehee:)

Adding Little Boots 'Hands'! Finally BOUGHT it! :D Going cheap everywhere so thought "why not?" :P

Would have bought Bev's but I don't like it enough to buy for £7 :(

where is it £7 because I'm considering it :o
Or £7.99 or something in Asda! I'm sure you'll get discount anyway :heehee:

oh right! I hadn't noticed as I couldn't have cared less about hearing the album based on the yawnfest of the single

but I have since been reeled in by the three excellent tracks :heehee:

Oh I actually agree about ballads, I love her ballads and her voice is perfect for them but ("Shoulda Woulda Coulda" aside) her most remembered hits are the more uptempo songs - "Greatest Day", "Come As You Are", "Made It Back", "Keep This Fire Burning", "Piece Of My Heart" so her last four singles being ballads/midtempo is baffling. Especially with "Black Butta" on the album last time and something like "In Your Shoes" this time.

Yay! That's three people on here who I've got to listen to the album today and all of them said it was better than they expected it to be! ^_^ Sorta agree, I love it all, but I find the quality dips by the end. I think "In Your Shoes" or a more beefed up version of "Breakout" would have been better lead singles, not that I prefer them.

Glad you liked "Soul Survivor" too, as soon as I heard it at the iTunes festival I knew it'd be brilliant. Might be the one I use if I use her in the BJSC again, just gotta check one of the exclusives, "Force Of Nature". Apparently it's better than most of the album.

ok, I didn't like it enough to buy the CD but I've paid a fiver to download the album on 7Digital, so another sale for her there Aaron :heehee:

only really for those 3 tracks that I mentioned, but rather an album sale than 3 cherry picked album tracks

YAY!

Surprised you don't think much of "In Your Shoes", it's a bit of a fan favourite I think. :o (mine is "Soul Survivor" though)

it hasn't jumped out at me, Breakout and in particular Soul Survivor are far better

Oh right, it's just that I've often seen it described as the sister to "Greatest Day" (can't see it personally) and I know you like that one.

hmm...I'll give it another listen

Soul Survivor is my favourite, although I find it rather odd the point in the song that Chaka Khan comes in...half way through the second verse randomly  Breakout would do best in BJSC I reckon if you're going to send Beverley to XXI
