Posted September 8, 200915 yr BOTH RELEASED: 21st September 2009 Which will peak higher and which will sell more in the long run? Dizzee Rascal 'Tongue N Cheek': http://images.play.com/covers/9730606x.jpg Coming fresh off the back of three UK number 1 singles, Dizzee Rascal finally releases his long-awaited 4th album 'Tongue N Cheek'. After the successes of 'Dance Wiv Me', 'Bonkers' & 'Holiday', will he be able to get his first ever UK number 1 album? Or will it be more like his first Top 5 UK album? Mika 'The Boy Who Knew Too Much': http://samprofeta.files.wordpress.com/2009/08/mikatheboy1.jpg 'We Are Golden' is looking to give Mika another big top 5 hit. His debut album 'Life In Cartoon Motion' has gone multi-platinum, will he be able to imitate a similar sort of success with this album? Or will Mika suffer from "troubled 2nd album syndrome"? MAKE YOUR PREDICTIONS! GO! GO! GO!
September 8, 200915 yr Dizzee Rascal quite easily I think, people should be dying to get his album as it's got three huge #01's on it. Mika is gonna suffer the sophomore slump I think.
September 8, 200915 yr Mika on both accounts, although Dizzee has done very well in the singles chart I think he'll be a singles artist, like Tinchy Stryder and Flo Rida.
September 8, 200915 yr Dizzee will peak higher, but I think Mika will sell more in the long run. I'll be getting the Mika album (I have his first album), but I hate Dizzee
September 8, 200915 yr First of all Dizzee's artwork :puke: I think Dizzee will peak higher and sell more. He seems to be quite big at the moment with 3 #1's.
September 8, 200915 yr I think Dizzee will peak and sell the most in the long run but the artwork looks really tacky and cheap, thats just my opinion tho. :)
September 8, 200915 yr I love the artwork of TN'C personally. I think TN'C will be #1 easily if there isn't anything else out at the same time (which there probably is) but he'll defo be higher than Mika. Mika however will overtake Dizzee on the second week and outsell him massively.
September 8, 200915 yr Given that rap albums generally don't sell well in the UK, I'd have to say Mika. Mind you, its like being asked if you'd like to die by hanging, or by electrocution... :w00t: Edited September 8, 200915 yr by vidcapper
September 8, 200915 yr Dizzee for both, I think Mika will probably get a top 3 album but it'll sell disappointingly overall.
September 8, 200915 yr The artwork for Mika's album makes my artwork for the single in this week's cover competition look like a pile of...
September 8, 200915 yr This is quite hard tbh... but I have to go for Mika on both questions. Anything can happen.
September 8, 200915 yr Dizzee on both accounts. He's got 3 huge #1 singles on there. Mika is going to suffer, as somebody else said above. He's not going to be able to capture magic twice.
September 8, 200915 yr Dizzee on both accounts. He's got 3 huge #1 singles on there. Tinchy had similarly successful singles on his album, yet it hardly had fans beating on record shop doors...
September 8, 200915 yr Mika on both counts, Dizzee seems slightly more of a singles artist these days
September 8, 200915 yr Dizzee on both counts I reckon. I think he has more support than Tinchy, he's been around for longer and probs has a bigger fanbase.
September 8, 200915 yr Dizzee has peak power, Mika staying power... 3rd pole that went 50/50 because of me this evening :o
September 9, 200915 yr Tinchy had similarly successful singles on his album, yet it hardly had fans beating on record shop doors... For a new artist though, especially one that doesn't necessarily appeal to album buyers, it's still donw pretty well. I mean, a #2 album isn't something to knock about
September 9, 200915 yr Dizzee Rascal will beat Mika to begin with. Then Mika will probably out-sell Dizzee eventually. I can't see anymore strong singles off Dizzee's album (although I may be jumping the gun here as i've not heard it) but I could see there possibly being some strong singles off the Mika album... especially if one will be released around December/Jan time.
