June 30, 200618 yr Author What's KN? Who Knew And PP its according to her promo company. the albums hasnt even reached 500k, the label themselves have admitted that Stupid Girls was a flop and Who Knew hasn't even charted on the Hot 100 yet. If U+UH flops the thats 3 flop singles and a flop album. How CAN she go on? Its a failed project and what makes it worse is that it was P!nk who's made all these decisions and admitedly the label shouldn't have let her but well its a mess. Considering relations between her label are so bad i.e. P!nk refusing to perform what is her new single on tour I wouldn't be suprised to see her leave her label if things don't improve. IF and its a big IF U+UH works, the label will pander to US radio and release another radio friendly track and American radio wants 'Long Way To Happy'. So I'd be suprised that if a 4th single was to happen it wasn't that. There won't be a 5th single I'm almost certain of that, not unless she has storming success with U+UH and then single 4. P!nk's got a hard job ahead of her. She needs to promote U+UH like hell if she wants it to stand any chance of actually succeding. I hate to see P!nk in such a bad way. She has Europe and Australia but she needs America if she wants to keep her recording contract :(
June 30, 200618 yr Nealry half a million albums sold in the US surely is'nt flopping ? How much did Try This sell at this stage of release  Edited June 30, 200618 yr by Scotty.
June 30, 200618 yr Author She hasn't even reached 400k there yet  2 singles down and with sales like that are atrocious :( Its the biggest high-profile flop in America this year. Following the US charts heavily as I do, Hoobastank are the only other artist who have done so badly that I can think of. Its a shame though :( Try This went Platinum in the US indicating sales of 1,000,000+ and that was with only 2 singles released to mainstream radio :) Edited June 30, 200618 yr by Jake
June 30, 200618 yr I can't believe how badly it's doing. Is she promoting there or has she just given up and only promotes in Europe where most of her sales are?
June 30, 200618 yr Author For some reason she's deciding not to promote 'Who Knew'. I don't know whether this was her decision or not but its daft either way. So I'd say she herself has given up. Its ashame cause IND is one of the best albums of the year :(
June 30, 200618 yr This is a really good song, i think 'Leave me alone (I'm lonely)' and 'Dear Mr. President' should be released too, they are all really good songs, hopefully 'U + Ur hand' will do great!!
July 1, 200618 yr I think it's probably the best choice for a single.....it sounds very similar to Kelly Clarkson - Since U Been Gone and that usually sells. ;)
July 1, 200618 yr I think it will do pretty alright in the UK, #7 maybe? It should give the album a good boost again though.
July 1, 200618 yr Author Well its no suprise when she's refusing to do any promo. It won't get you far. Stupid Girls NEVER should have been the first single as I've said it gave us a mis-representative idea of what the album's like. It isn't all bubblegum pop. And as I suspected as excellent track 'Who Knew' is it wasn't 2nd single material. she should have done 2 faster singles and then slowed it down later into the album. If I had made the single choices from the perspective of her lable i.e. to sell records and not what i want personally, I would have chosen: 1) U + Ur Hand 2) 'Cuz I Can 3) Long Way To Happy 4) Leave Me Alone (I'm Lonely) 5) Who Knew Oh and word from the US is that IF U+UH does well than 'Long Way To Happy' will follow as a 4th single.
July 1, 200618 yr I agree that 'Stupid Girls,' was a poor 1st single from the album and what was more annoying was (well certainly where I am) it was getting all the r'n'b bummers into that tune and that tune alone and they completley mis-understood the point of the song though too. However, Pink did confirm if it wasn't for the video she wouldn't have even put it on the album, but at the end of the day I would have rather had an amazing song as the lead single even with a poorer video, don't get me wrond I do like the song but as you said it is a poor mis-representation of the album.
July 4, 200618 yr Author Official statement from Sony BMG UK HERE 03/07/2006 We're very excited to confirm that P!nk will release a third single from her massive album I'm Not Dead this summer. All the songs on the album are potential chart toppers, but the mighty magenta one has decided that U + Ur Hand will be the next big anthem. The video is already in the bag, and is pretty amazing – make sure you sign up to the official site to get the first view of it in the coming days. Head on over to the Sign-Up section of www.imnotdead.co.uk to make sure you don't miss out. Well there's more than offical confirmation if ya needed it :D Must say that I'm shocked that we'll be seeing the video in the "coming days" that would indicate that it should be shown within the next week or two I would have thought :o
July 4, 200618 yr Oh and word from the US is that IF U+UH does well than 'Long Way To Happy' will follow as a 4th single.  :( :puke2:
July 5, 200618 yr another top 10 would be good heremwho knew and stupid girls have done great, they have staying power also which is good ,i like when the singles dont fall out of the chart quickly
July 5, 200618 yr Author What went wrong in the US: -Single choices which were bound not to work there (U + Ur Hand seems to have been accepted there as a far stronger 1st single) -She's barely done any promo there what so ever.
