Posted June 29, 200619 yr Delta update December 17, 2004 Delta Goodrem used the bathroom yesterday, it has been revealed. The young Australian singer was relaxing after her Royal Variety Performance at London's Coliseum when witnesses claim she excused herself and disappeared in the direction of the amenities. "She was talking to someone and then just quietly slinked off," said an industry insider. "Next thing I knew she had returned to the conversation, as if nothing had happened. She was really quite the trooper." Sources close to Goodrem, who only just this year fought a devastating battle with Hodgkins Disease, are keen to downplay the incident, but do confirm that such behaviour is not uncommon for the plucky 21 year old. "I can't confirm or deny this particular incident until I have all the facts in front of me," said a spokeswoman for the Goodrem camp. "But it wouldn’t surprise me. She’s done this sort of thing before.†Goodrem, who recently suffered terrible romantic humiliation at the hands of Wimbledon runner-up Mark Phillipousis, was wearing a stunning Collette Dinnigan gown especially designed for the event. "The full length silk halterneck dress, featuring a stunning crystal broach and accessorised by Rosendorff diamond earrings, can be very easily pulled to one side if the wearer has to use the WC," said a source close to designer Collette Dinnigan. “It can be just as easily slipped back into position once all such business is complete.†Goodrem, who burst onto the scene in 2002 in the popular Grundy television series Neighbours, joined the likes of singer Sir Cliff Richard, US actor Will Smith, singers Jamelia, Liza Minnelli, Sir Elton John and reality show celebrities Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, who all used the bathroom at some point during the glamorous evening. Experts say that Delta’s refuse would have been treated in much the same way as anyone else’s. “Whatever Goodrem passed would have made its way through the waterways like any normal person’s waste,†said an expert on London’s public utilities, “continuing through the various treatment works until finally flushing into the Thames.†Once in the river, he said, it would disperse rapidly until it became part of the very molecules of water that drift slowly towards the Atlantic ocean, whereupon it would either be consumed by the many fish of the deep or would evaporate into little puffs of cumulonimbus cloud that gather together and, with the help of the onshore breezes, drift toward the landfall until finally trickling down as morning dew upon the bottle-green lawns of the English countryside, many of which are tended by Brits who would have watched the Royal Variety performance on their televisions the previous evening…unaware of the fact they’d have a little bit of Delta on their front lawns the following day! Goodrem's performance was watched by tens of millions of viewers in the UK and worldwide, including Prince Charles, King Albert II of Belgium, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, King Harald V of Norway, Damir Dokic, King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, Peter Andre and girlfriend Jordon, Queen Noor, widow of Jordan's King Hussein, Japan's Crown Prince Naruhito, Norman Yemm, Prince Moulay Rachid of Morocco, the guy from the Aussie Home Loans commercials, Norrway's Crown Prince Haakon and Princess Mette-Marit, and many more. Reviews of Delta’s performance in the British press have been overwhelmingly positive, though no proof of this is available at this stage. Goodrem was accompanied to the concert by her mother Lea. She will take a break over Christmas before continuing promotion on her album Mistaken Identity, which can be purchased from all good music stores including Acetate Records, Ashwood's Music and Books, Blacktown Discount Records, Central Station, Chaos Music, Dancearena, Downbeat Music, Electric Monkeys, Elektrax Music, Fish Records, Folkways, HMV, Humble Pie Records, JB HiFi, Machinemusik Vinyl, Martins Records, Music Front, Oz Music Collectables, Ready Steady, Red Eye Records, Sanity. Soul Central, Unsound Records, Vinyl Hookups and Whammo. Goodrem spent last week in Hawaii. Prior to that she has been known to pass through such places as Sydney, New York, London, Paris, Adelaide, Bondi Beach, Airlie Beach, Ballarat, Fraser Island, Canberra, LA, Port Macquarie, Melbourne, Paynesville, Darwin, Ballina, Batemans Bay, Beechworth, Bendigo, Biloela, Blue Mountains, Braidwood, Brisbane, Bunbury, Cairns, Coffs Harbour, Coles Bay, Coolangatta, Detroit, Forbes, Geelong, Gold Coast, Gosford, Gympie, Hervey Bay, Hobart, Jervis Bay, Kalgoorlie, Kangaroo Island, Kangaroo Valley, Kurnell, Launceston, Lithgow, London, Maryborough, Milton, Mollymook, Murwillumbah, New York, Noosa, Northam, Palm Cove, Paris, Perth, Port Douglas, Port Phillip, Rainbow Beach, Rockingham, The Entrance, Toowoomba, Ulladulla, Unanderra, Walhalla, Whitsundays, Wilsons, Promontory, Woy Woy, Yarram and Yarrawonga. http://radar.smh.com.au/archives/2004/12/delta_update.html
