Snow Patrol have just announced details of ‘Up To Now’, a collection of the band’s best loved songs, as well as 3 new tracks including forthcoming single ‘Just Say Yes.’

Over fifteen years and five studio albums, the part Scottish, part Irish five piece have sketched heart-bruised ballads (Set Down Your Glass) and arm-around-your-best-mate festival anthems (Run); radio hits (Chasing Cars) and moments of painful introspection (You Could Be Happy). All of these have been gathered together for ‘Up To Now’ - a thirty track, double album of singles, cover versions, rarities, album tracks and a handful of new songs as well as compositions by the Reindeer Section – an indie supergroup featuring members of Scotland’s guitar elite - Belle and Sebastian, Idlewild and Teenage Fanclub among many others – and co-ordinated by Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody.

Released on the 9th November ‘Up To Now’ will be available on a two disc CD featuring thirty tracks, and a three disc digipack with an additional DVD which offers two exclusive documentaries, ‘The Lightning Strike’ animated film and previously unseen live footage. A limited edition heavyweight box will also be made available on a strictly limited run. Each box will be numbered and wrapped in cloth and the first 100 boxes sold will be signed by all band members. The box is a veritable treasure trove for fans, containing the two disc CD, three heavyweight LPs, two DVDs, a lithograph print by Bradley Quinn and an LP-sized booklet.

You can pre-order the Box Set now by clicking here.

‘Just Say Yes’, one of three new tracks on the album, will be released as a single on November 2nd on Fiction.

Snow Patrol have confirmed that they will release a greatest hits compilation on November 9.

The 30-track double-disc collection, titled Up To Now, will include their previous singles, rare material, cover versions and three new songs.

"It's a portrait of us as a band, warts and all," Gary Lightbody said.

"We've climbed a hill and now we're looking back and taking in the view for a bit. It's nice to show people that we didn't just arrive overnight."

New song 'Just Say Yes' will be released as a single on November 2.

Snow Patrol formed in Scoland in 1994 and have shifted over ten million copies of their last three albums.

I kind of thought they would release a greatest hits and im happy with this news, and its a great package for a greatest hits album and im delighted there is some new stuff on there aswell. I will definitly be buying this and i hope the new single at the least does reasonably well as it will help promote the album.

A 100 million suns done quite well sales wise but been honest i thought it would sell an awful more.

I just read what robbieca posted on facebook and wanted to put it in here xD

As FTF said, I also thought the next album would be a GH and Im happy aswell.

I usually don't buy any albums (Im a youtube-lover) but perhaps I nuuy this one: having signal fire, open your eyes, vhasing cars and run in the same album is great. oh! and Id like to know whats the "rare material" ^^

I got tickets today for snow patrol there are playing a place called the TF which hold sjust 3,000 people and its in the town i live, i was absolult shocked when i heard they were playing here as its the first time a big name band has played here, and to make it even better i got the tickets for free as the venue they are playing in is owned by mate of mine and his family, so i can splash out now on some merchandise from the money i saved on the tickets. This will be like a greatest hits tour aswell which is brill as they will play all the singles which will make it a great night an done to remember im sure. I cant wait for december now.

Oh wow a greatest hits.

Cool cant wait till this is released.

YES! 'Just Say Yes' is really good

Can't wait for this!

Ya im looking forward to this and i seen the track listing and the dvd listing and its certainly well worth buying and an excellent package for fans aswell, this should do very well for them.
I'd deffo buy this. I like some of their songs but havent got any of their albums so this will do the trick.

Well how times change LOL 'Just Say Yes' is a massive bore for me now :( Oh and I'm not too pleased they missed off 'If There's a Rocket (Tie Me To It)' either

Ah well. Still downloading this  (Might buy it when I have cash :P)

Ooh I might buy this, I do like a bit of Snow Patrol and bands of their ilk.
Just Say Yes is alright...the clip is a bit of a bore though
the album is number 3 in the UK midweeks with sales of over 20,000, robbie and jls are selling in the region of 80,000 but i think snow patrol are holding up very well as all the hype is around jls and robbie this week.
Still number 3 in todays update and sales are over 40,000 now, looks likely to sell around 65000-70,000 come sunday which is very good.

A number 5 debut in ireland and still number 3 in the uk midweeks

just say yes drops 5 places to number 11 in ireland this week also.

I'm not sure if it's the right time for them to be releasing a greatest hits album. I know they have been a band for a while but I'll the Final Straw album has all the decent tracks on it.

I can't believe Crazy in Love is on the album. It wasn't even a hit!

I think it is a great time for a greatest hits, i completly disagree that all th ebest songs are on final straw as in my opinion eyes open is the album that had the best material, dont get me wrong, i love final straw it is a brilliant album, likewise all the albums have had some great songs on them, although the first 2 albums are not a patch on the last 3 releases from them. The greatest hits in most cases doesnt always just have big hits so i think its nice to see songs that were not huge hits on there, some songs may not have being big seller but they are probably career defining moments for the band themselves.
