Yes, I do love Estelle but I've realised over time that I'm the only one on here who is a proper fan, let alone a stan. Plus, Busta Rhymes is probably one of the least Buzzjack friendly rappers.

Another old one that I only heard this week, possibly too guitar driven, not electro enough to go down well.

 

If it's none of those I will probably go for "Run This Town" or my actual last resort entry. (which is mildly cheap, but someone else has her reserved right now)

Yeah, you can never tell with older songs. They could either do a "One Word", "Potential Breakup Song" etc. or a "Trick Me", "Other Side Of The World" etc. and it usually the latter...

 

I might keep those two for a later contest, it seems "Afrodisiac" is getting the best response. It just feels lazy. (plus it's been my last resort entry since about XIII)

I'm always a bit lazy, though I don't know why you said Tegan & Sara. That was a fairly new discovery for me, despite being released in 2007. M$ney wasn't sooo lazy, just a little old, Video Villain were a risk but it was a host entry too...

 

I agree that mine are usually 'lazy'. I'm at the stage where if I DNQ I want it to be with a song/artist I know and love already rather than a song that I just discovered which I think is 'ok'. I'd rather DNQ with someone like Brandy instead of Pin Me Down, for example.

Don't think so. I recognised "What About Us?" and perhaps "Talk About Our Love" due to them playing on my Recommended Last.FM station. :heehee: My music knowledge for anything other than Spice Girls, 1999-2001 and from late 2007 was a bit limited then. :lol:

 

Glad you think that, though I don't think that means much. I was gutted to see you in my semi after you slated the beautiful "Long Distance". :( Same with Phil as he thinks she is the worst winner. (I think it's second best) Her voice is just so lush and smooth. :wub:

for me, Long Distance is appalling, I can't bear it, I really dislike her voice and it really shows on simple piano ballads like that...I prefer her more upbeat songs if anything where her voice is hopefully disguised by vocoders :lol: I was really unhappy to see Long Distance on a compilation album I imported from Sweden actually, they put it next to Jade Ewen's It's My Time so I don't have time to flick past in in time after listening to Jade :heehee:

 

interesting you say that you remember 1999-2001, so you must have recalled her cover of Another Day In Paradise, I'm sure it went top 5 in the UK :o
