evidently we were missing out, so here it is, as suggested. what's good for the goose is good for the gander as the saying goes.

I am sure we can find something to chat about, we often wander off topic on other threads.

although I don't really know what to chat about for the moment.

twiddles fingers..lovely weather we are having... :P

aww, my 7 year old just came in while I was on Darius' myspace and said wistfully, "I can't beleive I have seen Darius in real life- he is so pretty, when can we see him again."

and honestly I have not brainwashed her, she is very particular over what she likes and dislikes :D

You've been playing big D's music at home and in the car for more than half her life. You've no doubt talked about him a few times and then you took her to meet him. Nooooooooooooooooo, no brainwashing there at all.

I agree with her he is pretty but in a macho way.

hehehe luckily she likes songs she can sing along to and understand the lyrics, she has a wide range of inide music to choose from here, but always ends up asking for Darius

wierdly my other daughter(the emo indie rock one) fished out her collection of Darius CDs while her boyfriend was round the other week, he had only heard of Colourblind, being an emo sort himself. it was surreal hearing Darius interspursed with HIM and Boy kills boy, Killers, My Chemical Romance, Artic Monkeys and the likes!! and the likes.

I thought "that's the street cred gone then" :D

I brought em up good ehh.

Hey now, that's a relationship.

Actually, when I've read the profiles on myspace. people who've got Darius on their music list are just like most of us on here, they've got all kinds of taste in music.

I think in my lifetime I've been keen on loads of different types ofmusic at different times in my life. Sometimes I've liked a particular style for just a short time because I was influenced by my friends - notably Scottish folk music Matt McGinn, Hamish Imlach, Adam McNaughton whom I used to go to clubs and hotels to see.

It was weird because years later, long after I'd stopped listening to folk music, one of my work colleagues was Adam Mc Naughton. He could just stand up and sing anything accapello - fantastic voice and amazing personality. He wrote two of my favourite songs about Glasgow. "Oh waur is the Glasgow" (that I used to know) and The Jeely Piece Song"

He also did the most amazing 3 minute resume in song of the plot of Shakespeare's Hamlet - absolutely hilarious!

:o I saw a man driving a car with a newspaper on the steering wheel.

I cant believe how dangerously some people drive these days.

I was nearly knocked down in the park today by a guy using a mobile while driving a tractor! I know it was raining and not many people were in the park but that's no excuse. Good job I wasn't daydreaming.

What great children with wonderful taste and not afraid of sharing......must have fab parents

Does anyone watch those problem children programmes, the spin offs of Supernanny? It's usually more problem parents than problem children. Once they get the parents working together, it seems to all fall into line.

I thought Michael was a problem child till I watched these programs.

Well hes not an angel but in comparison he nearly is

it is reassuring seeing that a lot of children are little devils!

mine had their moments, but not like some of those on TV! and looking back it was not so bad to keep them under control.

I wish they had advice for teenagers..as that's when they really get a handful and you cannot make them sit on the naughty stair then!

Teenagers are the worst for pushing boundaries, you have to stick to your rules and let them know about it.

I thought Michael was great. He reminded me of one of my brothers.

I think my mother was OK with us (including me) being less than perfect in the house but we all knew how to behave in public and knew how to modify even that according to circumstances.

We all did shopping and chores from a young age but it was a different world. There weren't many cars and you walked everywhere locally. The kids knew all of the neighbours in the street to talk to and loads of others in the neighbourhood. People would help you if you had trouble and tell your parents if you were doing something stupid. I still know my mother's Co-operative number off by heart.....50376.

Friday night was movie night, comics and treats were bought too. Saturday we visited our Granny in another town - the boys, when the local football team were playing at home and the girls, when they played away. We went for a family outing every Sunday.........mostly that would be to free events or places, but we learned a lot and had fun.

My parents never tired of listening to our endless questions nor answering them. They never argued in front of us either. They just talked out any family problems in their room before going to bed at night. My father always kept on top of how we were doing at school too.

When I look back, we had none of the fears that hang over the kids today - coke was that fizzy drink in the funny-shaped bottle from the US, TV didn't bring graphic pictures of man's inhumanity to man into our house every day etc..........I don't think I appreciated it then but although we were a working class family living on one wage in a city, it was a pretty idyllic childhood.
