The third chapter in rock history's most famous story, 'Bat Out Of Hell 3: The Monster Is Loose' heralds the return of the formidable Meatloaf. Pre-ceded by the lead single 'It's All Coming Back To Me Now', this new 'Bat Out Of Hell' album looks set to build upon the unsurpassable success of the previous two, which have racked up an estimated 45 million copies sold worldwide.

im a big fan of celine dions version but i have to say meatloaf has done a great cover of the song and it should do well for him
It's not that bad.. though I really prefer Celine's version [of the song]. About the video: well I think it's just a weak rip-off of Celine's video..

Okay so I had to read up on this because it's confusing...

Apparently Meatloaf is releasing this album with no support from Jim Steinman, the guy who wrote all his songs on the previous albums. However, 7 of the songs on the album were written by Steinmen for previous albums or other artists. Steinman owns the trademark to "Bat Out of Hell" so Meatloaf sued for it and got permission to use the title for his album. Apparently relations between the two are not good.

This all sounds like a cheap imitation of a true Meatloaf album so I'm not expecting much. Of course Steinman wrote "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" for Celine back in the mid-90's... I'm not sure why Meatloaf covered it or why he's using it as a lead single....

Actually... apparently It's All Coming Back to Me Now was written for Meatloaf back in 1986. But he allegedly went with I'd Do Anything For Love and decided to "save" it for his 3rd album. Then Steinman went ahead and gave it to his girl group Pandora's Box and then eventually to Celine who made it a commercial success in 1996. I bet Meatloaf was pissed about that...

well if this is on Mercury/Universal and II is on Virgin/EMI and the first one is on Cleveland International/Epic/Sony BMG

does this mean that all these record companys will have to merge before everyone gets Bet Out Of Hell - The platinum 3 disc collection

Meat Loaf takes his Bat to Broadway

Virgin News

Rocker Meat Loaf has announced plans to perform a one-off Broadway musical based on his three 'Bat Out Of Hell' albums.

The singer will perform his 'Bat On Broadway' show at New York's Palace Theatre on November 2 following the release of 'Bat Out Of Hell III - The Monster Is Loose'.

The show will be split into three acts with the first featuring songs from the original 1977 album 'Bat Out of Hell' including 'Paradise by the Dashboard Lights' and 'Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad'.

Act Two will contain songs from 'Bat Out Of Hell 2 - Back Into Hell' including his number one hit 'I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)'.

And the final act will feature songs from the third 'Bat Out of Hell' album performed live for the first time in Meat Loaf's home town.

'Bat Out Of Hell III - The Monster Is Loose' will be released in the UK on October 23.

The album will be preceded by new single 'It's All Coming Back To Me Now' on October 16. The song was penned by Jim Steinman and was a top three hit for Celine Dion in 1996.

I LOVE Celine Dions version  Saw this on the tv the other day :o LOVED it  Prefer Celine's though :P although I do think this vid is a rip of from Celines Version

A truly brilliant video.

Pulp's - Bad Cover Version came out at the same time as the first Pop Idol winning single & was released as a protest single.

Although it should have been released as a tribute to Westlife.

Most of Jim Steinman's stuff will have been written for Meat Loaf I think. I heard that Bonnie Tyler's 'Total Eclipse Of The Heart' was written for Meat Loaf but eventually went to Bonnie.

Steinman and Meat Loaf fell out quite badly at some point. Meat Loaf did admit later on that the fame went to his head. Around the time that Meat Loaf's commercial success was waning, and a lot of the record company execs were telling Steinman he was the writer so he could write for other, more commercially successful, artists.

I'm not too keen on Meat Loaf's new version to be honest. It's OK, but I think this is one of those songs that sounds better when a woman sings it. Some songs sound better when a man sings them. Or maybe it's because I heard Celine's version first. I think her's is the best so far. I thought the singer on the Pandora's Box version was a bit poor to be honest.

I'm not sure why Meatloaf covered it or why he's using it as a lead single....

It is an odd decision.

how do you guys think bat out of hell 3 will sell

I think it will do well.

The original Bat Out Of Hell surprisingly only reached No.9 but is now one of the biggest selling albums of all time.

Bat Out Of Hell 2 went to No.1.

Love this version of the song..... not sure how well the album will do straight straight away, they do seem to take a bit of time to build up
