Hello, finally I can get around to the business of releasing my top 50 songs of 2006, with videos and the usual extras, with the top ten albums of the year being announced after 50-21. Note that chart runs will only be given for songs that have had their chart runs given in chart threads as I am unable to access my archives currently!

So, the album chart countdown begins...

10 - Justin Timberlake - FutureSex/LoveSounds

http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/82876870682.JPG

Peaked at #1 for a week in October

The return of Justin in late summer brought us a more refined, mature JT - if a little sex-obsessed. Returning to the music scene with the Prince inspired ego number 'SexyBack', FutureSex/LoveSounds has a few songs with obvious appeal, such as LoveStoned, Summer Love and All Over Again, even if it does have a few too many 7 minuters and guest rappers.

Miss: Chop Me Up

Next Single: What Goes Around.../...Comes Around

09 - Gwen Stefani - The Sweet Escape

http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/GWENPRECD.JPG

Peaked at #1 for a weekl in December

Gwen's much awaited album failed to disappoint, with only one track out of the collection being truly hateworthy - the broken shoulder that is 'Now That You Got It', a club 'banger' that exists only to annoy with its annoying piano beat, which consists of the same note over and over and over...in contrast to the sublime 'Wonderful Life' and the breezy 'Sweet Escape', and the sexually charged 'Yummy', all three of which are pencilled in as singles! :D

Download: Wonderful Life

Miss: Now That You Got It

Next Single: Sweet Escape

08 - Ciara - The Evolution

http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/LFC701964-2.JPG

Peaked at number 1 for 2 weeks in December

AMERICAN tracklisting :smoke: Don't even get me started on the shambles that was the release of The Evolution in the UK, and a completely destroyed tracklisting didn't exactly help, so I'm boycotting her UK record label. :smoke:

Fabulous album, highlights being the catchy 'Like A Boy', the attitude drenched 'That's Right' and the smooth 'My Love', with the worst offender on the album being the boringly annoying 'I'm Just Me'. All in all much better than her debut

Download: Like A Boy

Miss: I'm Just Me

Next Single (In America anyway, the UK Evolution releases seem to be in limbo ): Like A Boy
