'Teenagers' is the 4th UK release from My Chemical Romance's 3rd album 'The Black Parade'. It follows a whirlwind 9 months for the band in the UK after scoring a #2 album last October as well as their first UK #1 with 'Welcome To The Black Parade'.

 

In the November 2006 issue of Kerrang! magazine, Gerard Way said:

 

It's a commentary on kids being viewed as meat; by the government and by society. That's how I felt in school, and after 9/11 happened that's how I felt in general. It's very important that this song is here because I always viewed this as about these kids in the parade who had killed themselves, who had made a big mistake. It's a very powerful song.

Live versions are OK I guess but it seems silly to put the same one on both cds as some fans will buy all the formats. :lol:

Probably because it is a great 4th single :P I think they should have released Famous Last Words as the fourth single ;)

I'm quite surprised by it tbh - the last two singles onlyt spent 2 weeks in the top 75 on downloads before release this one is top 40 with still 3 odd weeks to go.

I think even the non-fans seem to like it :lol:

Yeah I agree. I think a fifth single woudl ruin the album, milking the album isn't a good idea IMO

Teenagers is now #11 on iTunes and in the last midweek update from Mon-Thurs was #29 on the singles chart. :D

It should easily be top 10 in the next update - doing astonishingly well considering the last two singles failed to make the iTunes top 20 :o

Ya its doing brilliantlu for a fourth single considering the album has also sold near 400,000 copies
