May 5, 200619 yr Author Ashley Parker Angel (born Ashley Ward Parker on August 1, 1981 in Redding, California, USA) is a musician and aspiring actor, best known as a member of the now-defunct boy band O-Town. He received his current last name from his step-father, Ron Angel. O-Town During the production of the reality show that gave birth to O-Town, Making the Band, many of Ashley's co-workers considered him perfect for the role of a boy band member, as a result of his passion, enthusiasm, talent, and boyish good looks. He is often considered the group's heartthrob. O-Town went on to sell over 5.6 million albums worldwide. However, the popularity of the group never approached the success of other bands in their genre. Once Making the Band had finished its television run, O-Town floundered. The members signed numerous contracts, many that didn't benefit them. Ashley, like other members of the band, was left without financial security, despite wide-spread media exposure. O-Town disbanded in 2003. Personal life After O-Town's dismissal, Angel embarked on an effort to start a solo career. In the meantime he has established a more normal life outside of the public eye. In August 2005 he got engaged to Tiffany Lynn and they now have a baby boy named Lyric. Solo work Angel is currently starring in a new MTV reality series There and Back, and is producing his first solo album. The show chronicles his efforts to re-launch his career and support his new family. The theme song to the show is "Soundtrack to Your Life", a song that is going to be on his new album. The song is being produced by The Matrix after firing Soul Power as producers. The lyrics are: "Your life is, a flashback, a question, a photograph, a statement, a story, a struggle, a chance to laugh. Cause if you don't laugh, you cry, a last crescendo when you die, so hit the rewind and listen, to the playback, the soundtrack to your life." In 2004, Ashley signed a solo deal with Blackground/Universal Records. His debut album is set for release on May 16, 2006. Other work Angel is known in the video gaming world as the voice of Alex in the Lunar series dating back to Sega CD. In December 2002 Angel made a cameo appearance in the Canadian cartoon series Clone High. Angel also appeared in the 1999 straight-to-video movie Longshot (film) along with the other members of O-Town as well as many other teen celebrities such as Britney Spears, 'N Sync, and LFO. Angel has also competed on the television program Celebrity Cooking Showdown. Discography with O-Town 2001 O-town 2002 O2 [edit] Solo Music His first single "Let U Go" debuted on MTV's Total Request Live March 14, 2006, and on March 24 he reached #1. The single soon to be shipped to radio station outlets is his first as a solo artist and his first from the breakup of O-Town. His new album Soundtrack To Your Life will be in stores May 16, 2006. It will be also in the 2006 FIFA World Cup video game. On April 1 2006, the song was the #1 on iTunes. For the week of April 29, 2006 "Let U Go" debuted at #17 on the Billboard Hot 100.
