do we really need another Asian/Japanese horror remake? no doubt this will follow the success of the ring, dark water, the eye and all that stuff in being another monster hit. however i guess it will just be like most of the teen horror films that have been released the century. what do you think?

well this stars Kristen Bell from veronica mars, Rules of Attraction's Ian Somerhalder and Christina Milian, who kinda famous for her roles in Torque, Be Cool and Man of the House

Thought Torque was alright, a piece of visual fluff never the less, but alright just to chill on the couch in a zonked out state staring at the screen   sometimes you need a film on a sat afternoon when your a bit still clunky from the night before

but as for her actring in this new one Im guessing it will be run of the mill singer-turned actor stuff

Pulse reviewed in Total Film and gets a 2, so i suppose another horror thriller remake disapointment. think i'm gonna see if the original is still in the mz sale

I reckon we need another US remake of a brilliant J-Horror film like an astroaut needs a loud, smelly fart in his or her spacesuit to be honest. I've not seen a single one that I would give houseroom to - The Ring remake was about the best one, but by default only really, it still pales into insignificance compared to the sheer dread and horror Nakata's original can generate; I was incredibly disappointed to see Nakata involved with the second, incredibly poor, US "Ring" film; The US remake of "The Grudge" was insulting really, they set it IN Japan and then proceeded to almost totally ignore the fact that Japan has Japanese people living there.... The "Dark Water" remake was just p***-poor, with zero tension and didn't even come close to matching the Social Commentary of the Japanese original, the only good thing about it was Jennifer Connelly...

And now we have "Pulse", oh dear.... CGI-laden tosh (from what I saw of the trailer...) with the rather predictable cast of annoying American teenagers who we know doubt wish will be brutally killed in the most abominable ways....

Was it not bad enough that America dropped the atomic bomb on Japan, it has to do this to Japanese Cinema???? <_<

A certain member on here, showed me the trailer to this a while ago and it looked brill from the trailer. :o so I decided to download it. Christina Milian puts in a rather bad performance and the film itself is pretty c**p and it really didn't live up to my expectations of it. :(

I refer you to Kitahari Kurosawa's brilliant original "Kairo"..... Watch it late at night, alone and with all the lights off..... It will have an effect on you, and its imagery will stay in your mind for months and haunt your dreams....

Well then I really will stay away from the original as I hate horro films like that. :( Well I really expect the original to be a lot better than this as this film is pretty $h!t. One of the main problems for me was Christina Milian's performance as I just really couldn't take her seriousley becuase of her singing carrer and everything. :(

well i suppose all these types of film will probably make much more sense in context woth Japanese culture.

as for this film most of the actors seemed bored in it and when i spotted a Dacia 'the Romanian national commie car  ' behind Ian Somerhalder fixing his Merc, i started thinking about the Borat trailer that I had seen prior to this film and started sniggering at it again.

however i must say it was netter than the Omen for disguising the fact that it was filmed in Eastern Europe, but as it was Romania i'm thinking it might be time for an ultraviolent vampire film. something thats not at the rating of something like van helsing

well these types of films are gonna be populated by MAW types and actors from TV.

now could you say that The Fog was better just for Maggie Grace?

has anyone seen it, i was thinking of watching it tommorow

dont bother its boring

dont bother its boring

Thought this was bloody awful to be honest. What Wes Craven has done to the original (the VASTLY superior "Kairo") is pretty much what happens to the characters in the film - he sucks all the elements out of the original that make it interesting, destroys all the subtleties and strong concepts and leaves us with a film which is as much of an empty shell as the characters who get their life essence sucked out by the ghosts....

And just why was I thinking of Aphex Twin's superb "Come To Daddy" video pretty much ALL through the film....? Oh yeah, that would be because the "director" JUST TOTALLY FUKKIN' RIPPED IT OFF AT VARIOUS POINTS...... <_< <_< <_<

2/10 Garbage.....

Saw this the other day and really liked it :D , it has a great storyline and Christina Milian surprised me with her acting actually, she isn't an amazing actress but she done the part well ^_^

ooooo Christina Milian!!! and Ian Somerhalder..from lost!

Thats another problem I have with this film. :( I liked his charchter in Lost and I thought he was a massivley under used charchter in Lost, but throughout the film I thought of him as Boone and not the charchter he played. :(

it has a great storyline

It had a great storyline (in Kurosawa's original...), then Wes Craven got his paws on it and fukkin' destroyed it by being too literal and obvious, then there's all the MTV-sh!t from the so-called "director".....

Then again, I suppose you do have to bear in mind who this film is being made for...... -_-
